I have a question, so when I measured my oil, it showed that it was half way from min and max. I know min wants me to add 1 qt of oil, so then I went and added around .5 (maybe .4) qts thinking since its half way, it used .5 qts. Was it alright for me to do that or have I mistakenly overfilled? I have a m235i.
I did mine by driving the front wheels up on ramps. Given the drain plug is at the rear of the engine, I assumed I would get a good drain. Am I incorrect?
Where’s the link for the oil filter removal tool?
Mine stilled shoes the engine light
And make sure the O ring on the top of the filter goes into the wide slot in the grooves; not on the top as I found out the hard way !

Did all of the oil drain out when the front was only lifted? When I do oil changes I make sure the car is level so all of the oil will come out.
Also, does doing your own oil change void the warranty?

Camera work needs improvement, althougn content good.
So bmw manual states to use 0-20w engine oil? Why use 40 weight?
