Your lyric analysis was pretty spot on, though I wouldn't necessarily say the mismatch is about how easy/hard their respective lives are so much as just one preferring a healthy lifestyle of getting up early and not drinking much vs someone who stays up late and indulges in some whiskey. If you do more Hozier reacts, I really recommend taking a closer look at the lyrics, they're amazing, lots of literary or mythological references, nods to current events, and clever turns of phrase, and not all of his songs are quite as straightforward to understand as this one. Honestly, seeing people dig into his lyrics is why I watch so many Hozier reaction videos, though it can also be pretty interesting to see what people have to say about the melodies, the instrumentation or his voice.
Most longtime fans (imo) would not pick this song to represent the best of Hozier. Here is a song from each of his albums that I think most fans would say, better represent his music. Interested to see what you think... Album: Unreal Unearth Song: Unknown ruclips.net/video/LbztOHrFhK0/видео.html Album: Wasteland Baby Song: Shrike ruclips.net/video/DOBHyBPPSow/видео.html Album: Hozier Song: Cherry Wine ruclips.net/video/SdSCCwtNEjA/видео.html
I agree these are great songs and they do represent his more folk-y acoustic mode really well, but Hozier just as often ends up more at the rock/r&b end of things as well. So I'd like to put forward a few in that category. From Unreal Unearth: Francesca, Wasteland Baby: Dinner & Diatribes, Hozier: Sedated and we can throw in his single, Jackboot Jump as well. Also it's more a gospel vibe, but Nina Cried Power is amazing.
Yes definitely a catchy song! Will check them out!

I plan to do more Hozier videos. I love learning about all these artists I never heard of before! It's definitely expanding my mind!
Fantástico 👏👏👏👏👏❤
