Breakish Bay Pods, Lower Breakish, Isle of Skye

  • After Fort William we headed on the train to Mallaig and then a ferry across to Armadale on Skye. Unfortunately we then had a two hour wait for a bus but there was at least a small snack bar at the terminal.... so more chips. On the subject of chips, some of the worst we've ever had were in Broadford the next day. Fish and chips by the sea should just be good. We don't live a millon miles from the south coast and even the tourist-trap fish and chip shop at the entrance to Brighton Pier serves better chips than the ones we had in Broadford. Aside from that, Skye was absolutely awesome and, pretty much like everywhere else, we wished we'd stayed longer. The Present Mrs Camsell had always wanted to stay in a wooden "pod" and the Breakish Bay Pods hosted by Angus are truly fantastic.
For those of you who have recently eaten, I should warn you that this video contains images of me in a pair of swimming trunks, thrashing around in the sea. I call it swimming, your opinion of what this is may differ.

Hi , loved your video 👍
    Looks beautiful.
How far from the pod was Ashaig beach ( I'm assuming you walked) ?
And you mentioned going to get wine, are there shops near the pod within walking distance?

Hi there. Glad you emjoyed the video. The beach is about a 15 minute walk away but the nearest shop is a quite a way up the road. We did walk it a couple of times but I think it's about 2 miles so you would be better going in the car if you're popping out for something on a whim. The pods are fabulous though. Highly recommended.

@@acamsell we're just back yesterday it was awesome , really outstanding.
Ashaig beach was out of this world , we went when the tide was out so managed to walk some distance out , it was like looking out at the end of the world.
Water wasnt cold either and crystal clear pristine
You didnt mention the view from the pod is incredible looking across the bay straight at Raasaay Volcano was the ultimate surprise.
Angus, who is a top bloke, we were standing looking over having a laugh and thought yeah should call it volcano view.
I get your just doing a little stop off video showing its sufficient but we were blown away by the landscape here, and yeah the pod was fabulous as you say.
Angus gave us plenty of firewood for the fire pit and complementary tea, coffee sugar even put a pint of milk in the fridge for us.
We were able to get a bus to Broadford and back to the top of the road, so that was good.
      Couldnt have got better.
      Thanks again
