The "hoods" in Bloomington are so kind. I grew up there. I lived in Hudson but sold gonj in sunny side. I cooked at the original steak n shake on main and got fired for smoking dubes in the basement after a long night of work.

You are not in the hood. At the beginning. The tall building you passed first is the projects for old ppl w disabilities. Just east of it is Wood Hill projects. Its small and its controlled very well w police living in the same group of buildings. There are a few like this in Bloomington normal. Sunny Side is the worst and thats on the west side. The main street you were driving on use to be the dividing line between west and east (good and bad) you were not even close to the shit side. That said Bloomington is far from " bad" compared to places like decatur and peoria.

Back around 88 or 89 on Main Street and division st, a guy I went to high school with was on a motorcycle in the left lane that becomes a turn lane at division. He hit the curb and was ran over by a car. I heard, don’t know if this part is true but he was supposedly all tangled up behind the rear wheel.

@@truman6964 There are 215 of these signs scattered across the state of Illinois. Each sign has a clay seal attached to it. Kids are supposed to pencil rub the seals for souvenirs. So this becomes a giant geocaching adventure. If you want to see the locations of these signs, feel free to contact me.

There are no hoods in Bloomington normal! section 8 housing north normal the worst, west side is actually safe compared to chicago's south and west sides. Coming from someone who grew up on west Jackson in Bloomington and moved to Chicago and has lived in Bridgeport neighborhood since ; )
