Blo-No has a low crime rate as well. Especially for Illinois. And some people don't like the weather, but I love the fact that we have four very distinct seasons including a beautiful autumn.
I'm thinking about moving to Illinois, trying to decide between Bloomington, Peoria or Springfield. It will have to wait a few years, since I decided to go back to school which I graduated from very recently. Let's say if I move to Illinois from another state, and have a few years of experience working at the previous state do I qualify to buy a home, or do I need to gain experience for a year or more in Illinois to qualify to buy a home?
Hey! Great question. To qualify for a loan you'll need 2 years of income (preferably a W2). And you'll need to provide the most recent two pay stubs, as long as your in the same field/industry when you move and can show proof that you found a new job in that same field/industry (such as a job offer letter), you'll still be able to get pre-approved (assuming you have a good debt to income ratio and a decent credit score). The state you live in doesn't matter. We have great lender referrals in the area and would be more than happy to assist you when your ready to buy. I've lived in Peoria and Bloomington. I actually prefer Bloomington a bit more, but Peoria has it's charm too. Sometime this year I'll make a video comparing the two. Smash that follow lol. Have a great day! -Brady If anyone cares to chime in on which town is better, please do!
@@LivinginBloomingtonNormalIL alrighty, thank you for getting back to me. I’ll keep that I mind. Rn I’m just studying for the national exam for medical billing and coding. I chose that career due to its stability and decent pay.
And thank you for not pronouncing the S at the end of Illinois. I haven't lived there (and in Bloomington-Normal in particular) in almost 60 years but it still grates when people do that.
I wasn't sure on this, but after looking into it -- it appears there actually is! I actually fly drones a lot for our listings, but never thought to look for a dedicated flight location! We have a spot in the town of Mclean (not the county) where you can fly. It's called the Sentral Illinois Radio Society Flying Field. There is a $100 membership fee. (You can check out their website here: sirs-model-airplane-club.com). We also have a pretty cool hobby store for buying RC cars and similar things. Check out: Mid-America Raceway and Hobbies. I'm not sure about the rules and regulations of flying model planes and quadcopters at parks, but we also have a ton of big parks that might work as an option! Good luck! - Brady
No cuban, no Waffle House no 7-11 , no Jamba. No NYC style pizza no Turkish.. The parks are awful for the most part specially in normal for a city debt issues over 250,000 tickets with their piece of crap cops who have $70,000 modified vehicles which you can’t even see their name on the side of the vehicle for the amount of tickets and the amount of money it cost but they hit everybody for especially going just one over on a downhill on Linden, they can’t even cut the fields of the park until they’re cutting over dead grass that they had already cut from six weeks prior. The roads are crappy. The schools are old. The parks aren’t maintain and this is just normal yet. They’re just putting a sign that says normal route 66 also some idiot wanted to spend millions of dollars redoing the constitution trail and you also called a part of town uptown normal when it’s literally south normal which should be considered as downtown😂😂😂😂😂 oh and Bloomington has the other Chick-fil-A so there’s only one that’s actually really supporting the entire county not just the two towns so basically over 300,000 people😂😂😂 Oh, let me add just one more thing that lack of intelligence from the city of normal they want you to park in the parking garage on the third floor when you go to take the Amtrak and that’s also the pick up and drop off somebody you know because this is back to the future three were train can fly in the sky 😂😂😂
Sounds like this isn't the place for you then :) (The city calls downtown Normal -- Uptown normal, geographically you are right though!) No waffle house -> isn't Denny's basically a waffle house? No Jamba -> That would be awesome! No 7-11 -> Idk what's so special about 7-11? We have the amazing Casey's!! I've been ticketed by Normal cops, it's no fun, but hey I was going 14 over lol Thanks for your message!
See even more reasons why Bloomington Normal is AWESOME!

Im moving to blono this week, thanks for making this video!
That's awesome! Welcome to Bloomington!!

Well this didn’t age well… considering on campus 1000 people from Chicago just took over Main Street and campus with 1 person being shot to death lol
Just a comment there are no public swimming areas at Lake Bloomington
I appreciate that Joe! I actually didn't know this 😬 I've only ever fished out there
Thanks for all the helpful info! Sounds like Normal is anything BUT Normal 😎
Glad we could help. You are right, it is anything BUT Normal!
The amount of times I have heard that joke lol
"You name it, we got i!" for restaurants? What about vegetarian or vegan restaurants? I've looked and haven't found one!
I guess I never thought about a vegan restaurant. You're right! Don't move here if you can't cook and you're a vegan! Lol. Joking of course. 😅😂
Good news! We now have a vegan restaurant, called Under the Ground! YAYYYYYY!
It went out of business. Blono was on my short list, but I couldn't imagine living someplace where I'd be the only vegan.
Thank you for sharing
You are welcome! Thanks for watching

Great video, editing, and drone footage!
Thanks so much! It was a labor of love for our town :)

It bugs me too! I was on the west coast last year and everyone kept pronouncing the S. It’s a small thing but it drove me crazy 😂
Are there any places to fly rc planes? I'm a big rc enthusiast and love flying my planes and quadcopters are there any spots for this hobby? Thanks

Thank you :) Really appreciate you watching!
I lowkey love Blono
It's the best... but maybe we are bias. :) No, it's the best for sure
Me too. But I'll only admit it online
Those "art connoisseurs" were wearing glasses🧐
You got me

Glad you liked it :)
How about the 2nd highest property taxes in the country ?!
That's just Illinois in general. Yeah, property taxes stink!
No where near as high as Taylor, Texas or anywhere in central Texas. Especially Austin.

4th con, it's in a blue state, thanks to Shitcago! 😁
I guess this depends on who you ask! Illinois is a blue state. But I'd say BloNo is more of a purple city.
