Elden Ring - Maliketh Mastered : Aggressive fight showcase with style points [No Damage]

- A hundred or more hours spent studying a boss, embodied into one spectacular fight. A solo endurance fight against my favorite boss of the FromSoft series, Beast Clergyman / Maliketh the Black Blade on level 1 (RL1) NG+7 (max new game cycle) without upgrading weapons, no status effects (bleed, frost, poison/rot etc), no ashes of war/skills or Blasphemous claw parries (since they deal a % of max health in damage on parry, counter-intuitive to an endurance low damage fight).
This is meant to be a "pure" fight condition to showcase as best as possible the most aggressive and latest strategies I've developed since the game release, including the new p2 follow up baits and incorporating throwing knives in the middle of his combo mixups to damage his posture and keep him from doing arbitrary poise resets via the projectile attacks, which is one of the main annoyances in prolonged phase 2 fights where ripostes damage are of important value. The fight being on 125% speed, on top of being a test of reflexes, also help prove these strats are safe and reliable, since they can be successfully pulled off even with much less time to react as long as the correct timing / positioning is respected.
For the sake of making the fight more intense, dynamic and reaction intensive, I used a speedhack contained within Cheat engine to set the game speed to 125%, or x1.25 speed. This affects the game engine itself, causing both the player and the boss to gain speed as well as accordingly increased stamina regeneration. As a result this also sped up the skybox cycle, the trees/grass moving, etc. It does not however speed up the audio files such as Maliketh's opening and death dialogue or his boss theme, which serve as proof of the entire game being in 125% speed and not simply the footage. This can be distinctly heard at the end of the kill where I turn the volume to max for it.

Absolutely amazing. Deserves more recognition. I may be newer but I have a lot of trouble on him usually on play throughs I have to take at least 5-15 tries

Maliketh is definitely a tricky boss to learn, the most key advice for this fight is to never run away from him, especially in phase 2 since he's designed to hard counter backpedaling. Playing close range is much easier even with magic builds, funnily enough. Good luck against him in your future playthroughs !
One of my favorite bosses in the entire series, he is simply a display of magnificence, suitable for the level of your skill and how you play against him, amazing work.
Right, he's got the best of both worlds when it comes to a Souls boss, the absolute spectacle of Elden Ring bosses combined with the style and mechanical aggressivity of a DS3/Bloodborne boss. Pushing the limits of the bossfight with videos like this both allows him to show his full potential, and is also extremely fun !
I really dislike a lot of elden ring main bosses. Malekith is one of the few exeptions in the game and by far the best boss of the game. I like the first form more than the second. Its extreamly hyperoffensive gameplay, not only for guys who study the game, but also for average "souls" players like me (with souls player I mean the difference in skill you need for games like this than to the majority of other games). Other than malenia, wich I used spirit ashes in first run compleatly, and now use them still for second phase, I had the patience to learn malekith. I even needed more time on him than malenia in first playthrough. But while I had no learning acomplishment with malenia, with malekith it was the exact opposite. I mastered him wich grafted greatsword, killed him second try in ng+(I could have gotten him no death, but I was tooo cocky.) And now I am facing him with hyperagressive dagger tactics. Its fun to have so much openings, perfecting the fight while not making it too easy, so that I died again many times, but enjoyed every minute with him.

Great to see another highly skilled player appreciate the magnificence of Maliketh. I could never pull of what you just did. But whole heartedly agree. He is up their as one of Fromsofts best bosses. Shame about the health which is why I get the endurance challenge!
He's incredible really, overthrowing Blackflame Friede after a long reign as as my favorite boss :) I got a 35 minutes hitless fight recently using the lastest strats which was a blast, though between being sick and the couple other videos planned first I'm scratching my head figuring out when to upload that one
I feel that way about Mogrott. His combos are cool, his lore is sad, but his health is low 😢

You know how many times I got hit by stuff like his retreating spin attack on normal speed even while I'm waiting on it? I guess owning this boss for so long hones your reactions to it. GG!
About 10 minutes yes, swords aren't optimized for this but very stylish to showcase aggression :) I've done a speedkill with the same restrictions and no Godrick's rune and got a sub 7 minutes, it's satisfying for sure. And thanks !
Now i can't say i prefer my boy maliketh over morgott but he is definiteley my second favourite boss i ever fought and shit i can completeley see why one would do this boss for hundreds of hours gg's my guy

WTF a +0 Misericordie's riposte deals 300 damage at NG+7. That thing is truly busted. Wish you could use it without talismans.
Interestingly, if you're curious, I think the intended method to punish that landing spin is to get him to hit one of the pillars so you can roll with him and not get clipped by the end of the spin.

The only thing that annoys about Maliketh is that the fight would actually be a lot like this (minus the speed) if they didn't make him a glass cannon. He just dies too fast against basically everything.
He would be way too hard otherwise, also he isn’t too brittle having near on 18000 hp (don’t quote me on that)
We need to go faster
I've already reached the 200% speed limit on regular RL1 NG+7, but no way I'm doing that with endurance restrictions hehe :)
