Tangi has traveled around the world and moved to Mexico in her early 50's after getting divorced. She rented for a number of years before buying a place in the Cinco de Diciembre neighborhood.
She enjoys karaoke, bingo with Aunt Pearl, volunteering with charities, ladies night with friends and eating at local restaurants.

Tanji is adorable! What a interesting story! I cracked up when she mentioned her divorce and her face lit up... it was like "Freedom" !!! I am sure many people relate to that when they are in a relationship that doesn't give them the option to move in the direction they thrive! She is obviously Thriving! I love her energy! Thanks for sharing this!
She is a bundle of energy and definitely loving the single life in Mexico!
Wow this lady sounds amazing! Very brave and smart to buy a penthouse where she can rent out the units!
I agree Ben!
I like your honesty and clarity. Never being there. Will be there in October.
Enjoy your trip
Tangi you are an absolute delight for Puerto Vallarta!
I agree Crissy!
Love what you said about volunteering with teaching "Basic life styles, like playing guitar!"
So happy you are doing well. I’ll be back in Oct. was wondering what was keeping you busy!
Thanks Tangi, for the very insightful presentation and informative comments. Live is good in PVR
Best video I've seen thank you Tanji!!!
Wow, thank you Monica!
Great interview
Thanks!
The people you interview are so interesting and have great stories!
Thank you Cindy!
Thank you for the video. Very interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it Kary
Awesome! Hope to see you all in PV sometime (from Alpharetta GA).
Cheers ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hey Dean - I used to live in Buckhead (many years ago.) enjoy PV! And check our Living Simply in Mexico here on RUclips. They have in-person gatherings in PV.
Love this so much Tangi! I would love for my husband and I to come out for a visit. 😊
She looks happy and busy (by choice) very cool place too. Good work Mr BW as always. Thanks P n D
Thanks Dave!
Nice work
Bravo…. This is so inspiring to me!
I love it!
Thank you for sharing your story, it’s fascinating and it clearly evident that you are living your best life!
I hope that I have an opportunity to meet you when I gone to PV. This winter!!!!
Enjoy!
Awesome! Enjoy your time in PV this winter.
Hello Brighton. This is a really awesome story from Tanji! I am so happy that she is happy in Puerto Vallarta. Thank you very much for sharing it.
She really has a cool place there! Ha...I actually did expect to see a tiger walking around from behind the corner hehehehe Really unique architecture. And a killer outside porch!
The world needs more Tanji's! That is incredible of her for all of her volunteer work she does for the local community!
Safe travels!
I agree! More Tanjis!
Hello Tanji! You seem so happy and not afraid.
Thank you for this video. PV is where I'd love to settle for a while.
Go for it. It’s a wonderful place!
Loved this interview with Tangi! We looked to find a place to stay in Puerto Vallarta to escape the Canadian winter, but the prices were really high on Airbnb. It sounds like there are some deals out there, but you would need to be there to find them. Glad we found your channel and we've subscribed! Cheers :)
Check out this video on Rentals. Mostly about La Paz, but there are suggestions on finding a cheaper place near the end. This link should take you to that section: ruclips.net/video/CLBu1j_YGE4/видео.html
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico Thanks very much :)
Really interesting video. You had a great subject in Tanji-it was great that you just let her go with it. There were edits where you probably prompted her with questions. But, then she ran with it. Best kind of interview, not every subject can do that and not ramble.
Yes - she did a great job packing at lot in!
Great information 👍 thanks 👍 love ❤ your beautiful 🏡 what a blessing 🙌 🙏
You are so welcome
very uplifting video
Thank you Carol
What a wonderful video! Tanji, if an apartment opens up in your gorgeous building, please consider me! I'm planning to come back soon to look for a rental. I wrote part of my book, The Magic of Saying Yes: Answering Your Heart's True Calling in Puerto Vallarta and have always wanted to live there. Now it's finally possible for me! Much love and gratitude for sharing your story! 💖
Awesome Betsy! I’ll make sure Tanji reads your comment. I’m sure an author would fit right in in her place!
THANKSSSSS
Hey Tanji, your adventure is inspiring! I just retired, just waiting for all my paperwork to be done & I'm heading your way🤗
Congrats on your retirement! Enjoy your time in Mexico!
What a DREAM!! ♥
I am ready!
Make it happen! Or just give it a try. I just posted a video about someone who moves about every 6 months: ruclips.net/video/xH2j-xKwgZ4/видео.html
I love your laugh and smile!!
Thanks Janet (from both me and Tanji!)
wow Tanji, can i look you up when i come down there? I'm thinking of moving to Mexico and want to check out PV and some other areas. Saludos!
Omg I met her a couple of years back. She is definitely an ambassador of puerto Vallarta
How funny!
Such a delightful lady, very interesting video :))
Glad you enjoyed it, Kazzy!
Hi Brighton! It was so nice meeting you and Kat a couple weeks ago. Even though it wasn't in La Paz it sure felt like it was. You mentioned InDriver at the end of your video, do they have that in La Paz and if so how prevalent is it? Did you see that they are looking to add in-home services like plumbing to the app? Another great video. Tanji is living the dream! 🍹☀
Nice meeting you too! They do have InDriver in La Paz. Ubers don't like going to El Centenario. InDriver is really the only choice. I got to the Uber app to get a price, then I offer a bit more on InDriver. Drivers can bid higher and you can choose what you are willing to pay. I didn't know about home services. I'll need to look into that! Thanks for letting me know!
Good for Tanji. There are def good deals to be found in PV if your persistent.
Yes - it takes some effort, but they are out there!
I hope I see you in March.. you seem fabulous 😁
Amazing, we just got back from the ALMAR in the romantic zone. Starting my planning on making my retirement move in the next 2 to 5 years. My partner and I would love to take you to dinner and chat. See what I might not have thought about! I’m so very happy for you. Be well and stay healthy! So envious…. Nervous but know this is going to be a great decision, former cruise director for RCCL and Celebrity cruise lines for 13 years. Been around the world 3 times as well!
Big Brian Bear Hugs!
Have fun planning! My guest in this other video was also a cruise person. Not sure his position, but he mentioned doing the "previews" for the on shore jewelry tours. ruclips.net/video/ffu16rBkpQ8/видео.html
Thanks for sharing this video. I love it ! I really like to move there but I don't know anyone from there 🤷
It’s so easy to meet expats in PV (or any other town in Mexico.) So I say, “Go for it!”
This lady loves margaritas 🤣
Fantastic video , thank you for giving us a insight into life in Puerto Vallarta!
Life in Mexico is all about margaritas. Unless your Mexican, then you wonder why all the gringos are drinking margaritas!
It's beautiful!
It really is!
Cool property!
It sure is!
Tango is a hoot❤️Luv her!
😀
Tangi is everyone’s dream friend, land owner with great taste, and just so normal! Wish I could be a tenant asi know we would become friends. Very Best wishes for your continued happiness and good fortune! P
I agree! Thank you for watching and commenting.
Wow this was so interesting. I first went to PV almost 40 years ago. She is describing the way it was back then. Clearly avoid the super tourist spots! I'm sure there are spas that would happily charge 4 times as much for a manicure.
I've been back to PV a couple of times and have started going further out of town (like an hour north) but it sounds like I can find the "old" PV if I just ask the right people.
Yes - the "old PV" is still in there. Just harder to find. And the areas to the north are changing too!
And I think you are right. Many tourist places charge US prices, or just a little bit less, because tourists are willing to pay it!
The old PV is there. I stayed in Centro last Janurary, it was the perfect area! Very quiet. Zona Romantica is very busy.
Mi amiga!
I love 💕💕💕 Querétaro
QUEEN.
Sure
Root canals????😂😂😂😂😂 she is so cool 😅 Id love to just listen to her all day!
Beautiful place Tangi! I would love to live there
Me too!
blessed
I agree
OMG What a beautiful spirit ... How can I connect with her? she is so brave, and I would like to chit chat with her a little more ❤️
You can email her: tangidavis@gmail.com
This lady is lovely ❤❤
I agree!
Brighton, I left you a link to an article in a comment about 15 minutes ago and it looks like RUclips already removed my comment and the link. It was a link to an update on the FMM cards, from 8/20/22 published by Riviera Maya News.
Thanks Amy - I never found the comment, but I found the article. I'll add a link to my FMM video.
That summer heat must be brutal
Yeah - it gets hot and humid in PV.
Hi tanji I'm impressed with your story and I'm happy for you, I' am in the process to move to PV and my plan is to purchase a property, I'm also not a condo person so can I ask you how much you paid for your property so I can have an idea, best wishes and I'm looking forward for the next video.
She didn't want to give the actual number, but know that it was less than $350,000USD. Here's a video that includes prices for different parts of PV: ruclips.net/video/Z3N1QLgBL-k/видео.html
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico great!! Thats a good price for multiple units, I'm coming from Los Angeles and that's what I want to do, thank you for your information.
Hello I love your channel I was wondering about Tangi and would love to connect with her. Let me know any info as a almost retired women myself. Thank you in advance
Thank you! You can email tangidavis@gmail.com
I’ll be there in October. Would love to meet Tanji! Want to get connected. Please tell me where to find your pet sitter!
Enjoy October! You can email Tanji here: tangidavis@gmail.com
I'm going to travel to Puerto Vallarta next weekend and I would like to Say hello I'm 62
Reach out to Tanji by email. And enjoy your time in PV! tangidavis@gmail.com
The best place to retire in Latin America is Mexico and one of the best in the world!
I agree!
How pretty!
Oh my gosh! Why am i languishing in milwaukee, wi!! Sooo expensive here!
I grew up in Milwaukee! Too cold!
I'm in Milwaukee too. Sooo depressing as winter is coming.
Hope to be outta here in about 5 months!!!
Is it possible to get in contact with Tanji? She would be a wealth of information if relocating.
Sure - you can email her: tangidavis@gmail.com
Hi there. Very informative video! I have a ?
You said you have a friend on disability from the US living on disability. I want to do the same on SS from there. But, I read there are higher income requirements now. Can you explain how to do this if you don't have much money? I definitely can't afford to retire in the US on my SS. Please and thanks in advance.
The income requirements have gone up. Temporary residents (which you can convert to Permanent Residency in 4 years) are around $2500/month income or $45,000 in retirement accounts/banks/investments.
FYI - this Wednesday I'm having a live Q&A with a disability expert: ruclips.net/video/zIl0KMq3hpQ/видео.html
PV is looking more and more like the first place to land, if not to stay.
PV is a great first place. And then you can choose to stay or go "deeper" into Mexico ;-)
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico Thank you
Does Tanji have a channel?
She doesn't have one, but she'd be great on RUclips!
Does Tangi have any units available in her building? How do I get in touch with her? Thanks
I don't think she has anything now, but you can contact her at tangidavis@gmail.com
I live in McKinney Texas.,, and would definitely love to rent me an apartment of yours,,,, Doug have a website, link or acct for payment and lease.? Please let me know,,,thanks
I'm not sure how often she has turnover. Her tenants seemed pretty happy where they were. But you can email her: tangidavis@gmail.com
and she has cats! :)
All the best people have cats!
I am 66 retired, and I want to live in Mexico for the winter. How should I go about finding a place to live, drive my car there or fly?
Are you thinking about Puerto Vallarta, or any place in Mexico? PV is a great place to start. You could check AirBnb and see who's giving a discount for monthly rentals. Or you could Google Puerto Vallarta Vacation Rental and look for an agency. As to driving or flying, it probably depends on your lifestyle in Mexico. If you're a "city person" I'd fly in and leave my car in the US and just Uber in Mexico. But if you're a "go to the beach every day" person, you'll probably want a car to easily explore.
Enjoy Mexico!
THANK YOU FOR SO MUCH OF YOUR ASSISTANCE, BUT I HEARD THAT THE EMBASSY HAD RISEN THE COST OF THE MINIMUN INCOME TO QUALIFY FOR PERMANENT RESIDENCY, IT IS REALLY MY ONLY OTHER OBSTICLE TO MOVE TO MEXICO, GRACIAS
They raise the minimum every year. But you can get temporary residency with a small amount and you can also find a consulate that has a lower limit. They are all different. I think McCleron Texas has the lowest requirements.
Quit SHOUTING
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico THANK YOU!
Looking to move from Florida to Mexico already retired
Awesome! Start putting the pieces into place. Lots of Floridians move to the Yucatan.
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico thank you
You can buy a 2 bedroom apartment in Scalia Italy for 20k dollar
But I speak 15% Spanish and 0% Italian
I'm looking for a landlord like her
She would be a great landlord!
@@AlmostRetiredinMexico yes
🇨🇦🙋♀️any units in your bldg coming up for rent, am looking at 2025, Jan-Mar. 😊
Its just US is ridulously expensive!
Yes - but I don't think that's going to change any time soon.
Is doordash there, uber eats??
Definitely Uber Eats and a couple others like DiDi.
Some of the best food in the entire world? ... in P.V. 🤣. It's a great place to go - but food isn't near the top of the list.
I had some good food in PV, but I agree - maybe not the best in the world. Unless you maybe limit to affordable food (I can't afford the best food in the world.)
The official ambassador for gringos of PV???? WTH???!!! 🥴🥴
The comments sound just like women. After she divorced her rich husband and took more than half, she visited 50 countries and decided to settle down with her cat(s) and buy the whole building in PV. While still collecting alimony, she is able to make a video on how accomplished she is and how she deserves the lifestyle. Nice life if you can marry it. Her ex-husband now a poor broken man, works in an old age home in the outskirts of Portland Oregon as a janitor.
Do you know her ex-husband, or is this just the story you make up in your head to make life bearable?
Drag karaoke? i'm trying to get away from the lgbtqiabcdefg stuff not find more of it
So you pseudo retired to become a landlord? Do you cut coupons as well? Bingo, church and karaoke ooh la la.
Coupons aren't really popular in Mexico ;-)
Cashed in off her husband.🤮🤮🤮
Yup. Is that money coming out of the mouths of those emojis?
