- Not using the F-15C for these, though, as they're not in my campaign path. Instead, I'm taking them in their own machines. A proper joust - well, numerical disadvantage aside.
Gault's the best of the three squadrons, of course. They give you a straight up fight and keep the ideological mumbo-jumbo to its barebones.

So it's occurred to me...I guess Gault 1 has found a reason to fight.

In my search I went to go interview the former Gault 1. Anton Kupchenko but it turns out he’s dead, thats the cemetery, but noticed something peculiar, on his gravestone read the word “If you’re reading the earth is flat”.

Anton Kupchenko sounds russian than german
It's why I love the Soldier style. None of the aces take it personal.

Funnily enough, Armored Core: For Answer takes AC7 and AC3s corporation dominated future to horrifying extents.

Definitely the hardest squadron battle in the game. I'd rank Schwarze only slightly lower (Schwarze has the benefit of coming after the long-as-hell Mayhem, and when ammo is tight... While you have to deal with eight high-durability Foxhounds)... But these guys are tough. It's a four-to-one dogfight of incredible skill. None of the gimmicks of the other fights (Sorcerer's "long range" tactics that make it to where you fight them two at a time and make them a joke, Wizard's strange, almost nonsensical "stealth" attack that still winds up being a four on one fight in the end). Just one big tough dogfight, and I love it.
Also, in my personal opinion, even though I like the Gault battle the most, I always interpreted the Wizard battle as being the "canon" battle. Mostly because of how it was Joshua who more or less turned Pixy to AWWNB, so the personal stakes are way higher than Sorcerer (Dude you literally met once and had one line beforehand) and Gault (Never met at all). Plus, he's the biggest bastard of the three squad leaders at the time ("Fire at the cockpit!").
Plus the fecker nicked me plane. Don't need filthy extremists flying my bae, it makes me look bad >:(
@@DMSwordsmaster I've had runs where I couldn't destroy enough Sorcerer or Wizard planes in time and more of them got mixed in, mainly while doing challenge runs and that becomes a nightmare if you dont stop them quickly. You get a slightly more terrifying Gault fight where half the planes are barely visible or Sorcerer taking potshots with their long range missiles.
Sorcerer is better
I feel that of the 3 squadrons in Demon of the Round Table that Wizard is the smartest, they knew that they couldn’t take them on head-on unlike Sorcerer and Gault, so they hoped that by throwing the F-16XLs forward at Cipher I’d tie him up long enough for the YF-23s to sneak in and get a killing blow, they failed like the rest but they probably had the best plan

It makes you wonder, which of the 3 squadrons (Or nine if you include all of the major boss squadrons) if put against each other would come out on top.
This excludes Gleb, Espada, and Pixy.
I don't want to say it, but PJ is just too naive for my tastes.
Maybe, but at least he puts his guns where his mouth is.
Some players have claimed him to be useless...but on one mission, he took down FIVE aircraft in less than a second. He's no Solo Wing Pixy but...maybe it was also since after I played AC5, I got a little attached to him.
He was reliable and useful to an extent.
Granted what happened to Pixy in the following mission didn't drive me to RAGE as much as what happened to a certain wingmate in AC05, but I had *one more reason* to shoot Pixy down by that point.
He's young, still a rookie, naivety is to be expected.
@@Rossriders I found myself killing more targets in AC5 then m wingmen in AC0. It's a great concept don't get me wrong, but it's horribly executed in AC5 and AC0 makes it better
Rossriders yeah that mission in AC 5 drove me to rage as well trust me. I wasn’t happy for the rest of the game.
What else do you like about Gault? Extremely fun fight aside, Gault is right about politicians in this verse, and it KINDA applies to RL as well.
Plus his voice is incredible

I like that Gault 1 simply states what they want and why they fight for it. Nowhere near as fanatical as Sorcerer and especially Wizard (the latter's just insane), though well, the cause is still quite extreme. Although... I don't want to get in a political debate, but it's uncanny how actual AWWNB's revolt is, specially looking at Europe today.
Agreed about the voice, too. I tried looking his VA up, but sadly, the role in the EN version is uncredited.

TugaAvenger I agree Anton simply believes in the knighthood of Belka and wants to end the squabble about who has the most power henceforth why he is fighting

Soldier is considered the "medium" difficulty of the three paths and yet Gault was more difficult for me than Sorcerer, who shows up on Mercenary (hardest difficulty)

Something about Kupchenko's flat tone in the delivery of his words makes him sound much more convincing than the other leaders.
Makes him sound very intimidating
He almost change the tide of war with his sacrifice
I have also noticed of how Wizard 1 or Joshua Bristow is very metaphorical whenever he wants to talk

Andrew Rogers It's not annoying it's just hard to understand if you don't know what he means he usually refers to old fairy tales
After playing AC7 and looking these gameplays for nostalgia, i noticed alot of things now:
1) It seems that Belka likes to use the Su-47 as their default aircraft for elite squadrons, Gault been the true Belkan last squadron and the most difficult one, Ofnir and Grabarc uses the S-32 which is a variant of the Berkut, and let's not forget Rage and Scream, the edgelord siblings from South Belka.
2) Osea has a thing for Galdalfs, Sorcerer, Wizard, Mage.
3) Osea seems to use aircrafts like the F-15S MTD as their default airplaine for elite squadrons, both Grabarc and Sorcerer are Osean squadrons who also "traitors" in some way towards their nation.
Funny thing about the last part since in 7 Osea's elite squadron didn't get SMTDs, they're just stuck with F-15Cs, not even Mudhens
Should be noted that in development Project Aces couldn't get the rights to the SMTD or the X-29 due to NASA no longer wanting to see them depicted in war media

@@fgp3843 Maybe the YF-23 more than the Su-47, since now we see that the Black Widow is actually more stealth than the Raptor, and faster, with high mobility even if it didn't has the 2D thrusters.
The Su-47 seems to be the type of plane that looks cool... but in real life performance it doesn't work.

My favorite squadron across all the games and they only appeared in one mission. Love it.
Still the scariest squadron in Ace Combat series.

1:07-1:22 What he said. I want to get a heavy duty amen for the "Doctor", despite I don't quite approve of AWWNB's end goals. But screw me if he didn't preach the truth. PJ would have done well to shut his yap and listen to the man. The only bad thing was that he was the project lead for all those nasty endgame weapons that had to be dealt with in AC5.
Counterpoint: we have had many politicians who fought in wars, who know what it's like. And history shows us a soldier isn't necessary a good leader - sometimes, they were capable of far worse than a civvie.
I do respect Gault 1, though. He's straight to the point, no madness or ideological babble like Wizard 1, and he shows respect and courtesy. And he gives us the best squadron battle in ACZ.
@@TugaAvenger I agree, but "who gets the largest share squabbling" was the part that bothered me. That's opportunism and that just makes matters worse. A fair shake could have prevented the Circum-Pacific War, instead of a certain Belkan secret society beginning to make moves.
Wouldn't go that far, since Grabacr were already pulling some shenanigans in the war, but can't argue with the principle.
@@TugaAvenger Indeed, but how would they gain traction from a happier and more content Belka? Thanks to what we did after WWII(I suppose) we drove Nazism underground and they never managed to reunify Germany like how Belka was revived in the late 1980's Strangereal.

The F-16XL is only an "attacker" by Ace Combat standards. It's a multirole, a competitor to the Strike Eagle. It'd be a perfectly good fighter.
