    For routine maintenance tire inflation, I do all of the steps except obviously not plugging in the sealant can, correct? Can you clarify your comments on it not turning on because you had the door open? We will obviously need to keep the door open to send the cords through to the outside tires, right? Also, just curious if you have a video on good rules of thumb to check before going on a road trip, like tire pressure, coolant levels, other?

      @@MambaForever8_24 correct… for me and my i4, i can’t have the door open because the car turns off and accessory mode is turned off… so you’d go in through the passenger door (which doesn’t trigger a shut down) and open the driver windows to get driver side stuff done. Extra step only on the electric BMWs.

      Thank you! How often do you inflate your i4 tires? Obviously subjective and can vary based on many factors. I saw MyBMW app change the next service date from 1 year after deliver to 2. I thought tire rotation occurs at the end of year 1, and then full vehicle and fluid check occurs at the end of year 2?

      @@MambaForever8_24 I check each season, so once every 3 months, and only top off as necessary

      @@BMWofFW makes sense, thank you! I tried using the tire mobility kit without the sealant to inflate my tires, but I found the psi pressure gauge on the device difficult to read, and the mobility kit auto-shut off on me for some reason. I ended up using a bike pump that has a tire pressure gauge on it, and got roughly 1 psi per 10 pumps, so a nice but not terrible exercise to top off a couple psi's per tire.
      At first MyBMW didn't register the tire pressure changes, and I thought it was because you had to drive the car for it to update, but then this morning (still without driving the car), I saw that the MyBMW app updated. Odd, right?

    I had to use this last night on my 4 months old 2024 IX M60 with only 1,431 miles on it. This morning I could see where the foam patched up a bunch of tiny holes. Getting a replacement tire in the morning. But where do I get a replacement canister?

      BMW store…. Don’t forget to tell whatever tire shop you go to that you used the inflator kit

    Will it blow the fuse? I'm looking to get one for my moms 2016 BMW 328i
    I have a Mustang that came with one and every time I used it (even just to inflate the tires), it blew a fuse.

    Is it a good idea to buy a set even if you have run flat tires? Does that give you a little more time till you chsnge your tire than?

    • @BMWofFW
      @BMWofFW  7 месяцев назад +1

      No need if you have run flats… the run on empty feature is the reason you don’t need an inflator kit :P

      Thanks for the great video, very informative, I love the tip that you can use the device to inflate when pressures are a bit low.

      AFAIK electric vehicles don't have run-flat tires. At least that's what I was told when I got my i4.
