Thrilling production of Christian music from back in the day. After her solo/concert life was over, shall we say, she was on the Gaither Homecoming recordings for a number of years with her red hair. Thu. Oct. 3, 2024. St. Joseph, MO
I celebrate Jesus everyday!! Thank you Jesus for dying for me to give me salvation if I accept the gift of salvation thru your precious blood. I love you Lord Jesus.
I can recall seeing her in concert around 1985 in Nashville, TN. Tickets were just like $10 and it was at Hermitage Hills Baptist if I recall. As it was a church sanctuary, sitting was just general and I remember seating myself by a small section that was taped off and reserved for someone. A few minutes later, Russ Taff and his wife Tori showed up to take those seats. This tells you how big a deal Cynthia is to have someone like Russ and his wife spend their free weekend night watching her in concert. I always thought she would have went further with better management and more diverse song material. Had someone put some real money behind her long ago, she would be a much bigger name than she is today. Regardless, God has used her and her gifts to bless so many over the decades.
Not exactly what I was expecting but love it! I played piano once at our old church, the hymn was "Come Celebrate Jesus" it was very similar but also very different with the typical 4 part choral parts.
As a little kid back in 1983, this song had some cool synth parts. I think the arranger was high on Vangelis. Not a bad thing in the least. It's cool to see how Vangelis inspired secular and Christian music alike. Definitely helped mold and shape me as a kid who ended up playing synth, LOL! Great song!
Come now and celebrate

Bob says: This is one of the Top 10 all-time CCM songs. A Lenten masterpiece.
Thank you for posting this song.
Amen amen
This song reminds me of when we moved to SD from Texas when I was 5 yrs old. The song takes me to that time like it was yesterday.
