    Have you tried using flourocarbon straight through on your spinning reels?
    I've just loaded one of mine up completely with nothing but it, fingers crossed its better with lures, will be hitting Beaumaris pontoon early doors tomorrow and doing the full tide in so hopefully I come across some wondering bass.
    Good video, looking forward to more. (Dan)

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад

      Went out searching the bottom for some bass and pollock, wanted to do Beaumaris pier but apparently it was the busiest day of the year and one of the boat captains told us to politely p**s off so ended up going to Llandudno and doing the day there.
      Me dad got loads of doggies and a pollock and a small coddling and I just smashed the pollock and didn't see any bass, if I'd got a small enough pollock I'd have hooked it through the back and live lined it but they were all over the pound and a half mark and I didn't have a big enough float to hold them, I've got no doubt a bass can easily eat one that big I just didn't have a big enough float to keep them out of the rocks and snags.
      Good day even though we were kicked off Beaumaris.

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад +1

      Sounds like a canny good day apart from being kicked off the pier.

      @PitchUpCampsiteReviews 5 лет назад +1

      I'd just loaded one of my spinning reels completely with flourocarbon and really wanted to give it a bash around the pontoon but oh well, still caught plenty of average pollock and they're always fun.

      hopefully. i cant wait for the macky like i never do sea fishing unless it for them i went on boat other night n had nout but everyone else had cod was still nice night sea was rough like. might try for few of them eels before the macky come in i normally get them on the feathers while trying for them. avo been coarse fishing few times, as that what im into had couple nice double figure carp n that but no sea fishing yet apart from boat other night.

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад +1

      Aye shouldn't be to long before they are in. Last time I stayed in Cornwall the place we satyed had a couple of ponds with carp in. I caught a few of them on bread they go mental and put up a canny good fight . I can see why some people get addicted to fishing for them lol

    • @steelyc3506
      @steelyc3506 5 лет назад

      yeah its great i done it for years and all the other coarse fish. i only started the sea fishing last year as fancied trying for the mackerel had some good days got bag full in hour or 2 other days none haha just get good days and bad days. do you fish for them when the tide is goin in or out or when its already in. and yeah its great feeling watching them suck the bread up esp if its a big fat thing ahah

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад +1

      I usually prefer to fish the tide in and over high water if im going through the day but first light and an hour or two before last light seems to be canny good for them as well.

      If your fishing for mackerel or mini species you should be able to use your fresh water stuff I used to use a carp rod for mackerel fishing and lighter rods for mini fishing. Just be careful when lifting the fish out of the water incase your rod snaps.

      Hi Dean, yeah I use my spinning rod on the beach and pier all the time just be careful when lifting the fish out of the water incase it snaps your rod. I usually handball the fish up out of the water using the line instead of the rod if it's a decent size. Check out this video where I caught a smooth hound from the breakwater in Wales using my spinning rod ruclips.net/video/nFgIrF8XPfY/видео.html its the biggest fish I've caught on my spinning rod so far.
