Is your Screen not responding. Do you want to fix it now? This step by step guide is super easy to follow, and it will show you how to safely replace your iPad Air Screen.
Repairs Universe hi there another excellent video very easy to follow, one question my broken front glass ipad air has ghost touch if i replace my front glass would the ghost touch disappear?
I'm not sure but ,if anyone else trying to find out electronics board repair try Saankramer Electronic Magazine System (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend got great results with it.
Impressive video. Very helpful as I just successfully replaced my screen using this one that was about the perfect length and explanation. I don't know if you mentioned it, but the one of the screws...the upper left (if the camera is at the top) is longer than the others. I only discovered this because it wasn't seating properly so I had to compare the 4 screws. Nonetheless, this was the best video I've seen for this process of the 5-6 I saw. It establishes credibility for your site/group.
Looked at a lot of videos on this damaged screen replacment process and this one is the most concise, best documented one I found. Clear images, smooth transition for each step and clearly defined procedures with helpful hints. Professionally done video.
Thanks for your video, I was able to fix a severely shattered screen OK. But a warning to other viewers - you made it look like a 10 minute job, but it took me 4 hours to do! This was because it takes about 3 hours to get every single last trace of the smashed screen off without causing any internal damage and to clear all the tiny grains of shattered glass and films of residual glue from the metal casing to get it in a fit state to receive the new glass. Also, people should wear glasses as protection, as when a larger shard of glass is being removed it can suddenly shatter into tens of pieces flying through the air into your face. As you say, the home button needs to be transferred over - but since its whole assembly is glued to the remains of the glass (as is also a plastic frame for the camera and its color-temperature sensor) it's a good 20 minutes to get only that part into a clean enough state to be reused without wrecking it. Also, I did a full system test BEFORE removing the upper film from the double-sided tape and pressing the screen down - it would have been a nightmare if I'd had to get the screen off again if something didn't work. But I was successful in the end with your help - so thanks!
Ronnie1001 What did you remove the glue with? Solvent or just scraping? Thank you, never done anything like this before and I’m doing a lot of information gathering first.
Great instructions. Wasn't able to buy the part here (UK) but the step-by-step guide is really good. Close-ups also really helped with identifying what is what and what goes where etc. I have now replaced my (son's (but it's really mine,)) iPad screen and it works perfectly.
Thank you for this video, it saved me a ton of money. My removal of the screen was much harder then I would of liked. The screen was cracked pretty badly (digitizer only), and didn't want to come off clean even with it being taped as mentioned in the video. Other than that, the rest of the process was done fairly easily, and successfully as far I can tell.
Thanks for a great and educational video! I need to know just how much the replacement glass/ screen costs? I located a small co who said they'd charge me $80-$100 to actually come to my house and repair my iPad Air's shattered screen, but, by the time I was ready for them, I had misplaced their info, and lost them! This looks easy enough to where I could actually repair it myself though, so, please tell me, what do you charge? Thanks! ~Carol 11/16/14 @ 12:15pm
PippinPotter11 Our labor fee would be $80 in addition to the replacement part required. Please see this link here for our repair service information www.repairsuniverse.com/repair-service.html
so got my new digitizer today... almost all the way done installing it and then realized no where in the video did it say you would need to put your old home button on the new digitizer... spent 10 minutes trying to figure out where the flex cable was might be something to add it was a pain and didn't know how to do it at first until my friend google came over and helped me figure it out
8 years, and this the first problem I had with it. On the phone, kicked over my drink🍹 jumped up and stepped on the iPad🥴 Great great video. The perfect tutorial. Kudos to you, and thank you🤝
Omg thank you so much I know I'm only 12 but I DID IT!!😱👏🏼 I know this is late but whatever the hard part was taking off the cracked screen because all the Ices went everywhere
I'm having an issue where the digitizer will not fit back into the frame because the connectors get in the way and push up on the glass while I'm trying to fit it in. It seems to me like the connectors need to somehow fit under the LCD screen, but I'm having trouble accomplishing that. Any tips for this step?
hiya after a repair on to ipad air 5 i have the exact same problem...before placing digitizer into screen assembly all works perfect ..test i do b4 removing adhesive.....but as soon as digitizer is placed into frame n turned on im getting a ghosting effect random stuff happening..take out all fine??? no crimps or bends in ribbons...seems as when it touches frame...do u think defective digitizers or need kapton tape over ribbons n around edge cheers james
We do offer the iPad Air Touch screen and home button flex cable replacement. Replacing both would resolve this issue for you. Here are all the parts we offer www.repairsuniverse.com/ipad-air-screen-replacement-repair-parts.html
Thank you so much for sharing this great video, can you please tell me why after i replaced my screen ti my iPad air it's starts doing crazy things like moving app, trying to delete app and writing by itself? what's wrong :(
Yes you need to remove the LCD. FIRST you need to disconnect the battery! Remove the LCD so you can clean and prep the area. Install all new and old parts then install the battery. You should be good to go after that.
Muchas gracias
So i got a problem i set up my new screen but for some reason the bottom part of the screen doesn't work. The home button works and all but just the bottom and the top left of the screen does not work.. Please help
Guys at a store online it says iPad Air fixes but no iPad Air 2 fixes. I have to ask will they still fix the iPad Air 2 screen anyway cos the fix is practically the same as the iPad Air fix?
+Repairs Universe hello mate my iPad is completely fucked and smashed screen is all kinds of weird colours, is it the screen and digitiser or the whole lcd screen. Thanks in advance and love the video my man ☺️👍
To How Seems to be your LCD that is the issue. But in all honesty you will also require your touch screen panel as it will get damaged in the repair process.
I got a problem on my iPad!is like when I drop the IPad Air,the half of the screen turn to pink, white, black and green and it cover half of the iPad Air so i can't see anything!can you help me?
At the very end the demo fails to show how to secure the digitizer cable away so that it doesn't bind. This is not a trivial task and sealing it in, or attempting to, can completely screw up the whole repair just because those tiny cables are difficult to secure out of the way so that they are not binding/putting pressure causing the screen to break away from the adhesive.
Great question @RJRed! +RJ Red!!! I did not think to mention that. Yes, I can still use my iPad Air, its the screen that I had foolishly managed to shatter in to a million pieces! Then, I got another iPad Air, and my stupid ass hadn't put my screen protector on it yet because I procrastinate so badly, and I actually SAT on it!!! Yes, I sat on the new one! Here's the bad news; "the corner of the screen cracked a hairline crack diagonally, approx. 1 inch down & across"!!! Its actually not really too noticeable, though, only if you know its there, and believe me, I know it's there! I cant believe I now have two iPad's, and BOTH I'VE MANAGED TO SHATTER & CRACK! So, I'm glad I went on to read other comments, and now I know I only have to replace the top glass, only of one of them, the other one I can live with the reminder to be more careful with them. The cracked one could've been a lot worse, but it was laying on my soft bed when I sat on the corner of it, and cracked the corner of it. Anyway, thanks a lot you guy's! ~Carol
I hate that all these videos r non broken screens like b my tablets f up badly how Dah f am I supposed to do this Fml btw typing on my horrible iPad Fml
The repairer in this video has used double sided adhesive. He demonstrates this in the video. Do not use glue, if you use glue and you ever need to remove your screen for a future repair, you will make things very difficult for yourself.

If my screen is shattered, but I can still use the iPad, do I have to remove the LCD still? Or can I just remove the screen and replace it?
RJ Red In this case you would only require the touch screen digitizer. Your LCD will not need to be removed.

Awesome video, thanks!
Do you ship all over the world or in some counrtrys
So i got a problem i set up my new screen but for some reason the bottom part of the screen doesn't work. The home button works and all but just the bottom and the top left of the screen does not work.. Please help

Guys at a store online it says iPad Air fixes but no iPad Air 2 fixes. I have to ask will they still fix the iPad Air 2 screen anyway cos the fix is practically the same as the iPad Air fix?
+TheArcticPhsyco These are two different models and would require a different process. Possibly different rates.
+Patrick Flores We apologize about this. Most new screen replacements will not include the home button and this does need to be transferred over.
Hi I've done everything but my lcd is still blank no display
You may want to try replacing the actually LCD to see if this helps.
+Repairs Universe hello mate my iPad is completely fucked and smashed screen is all kinds of weird colours, is it the screen and digitiser or the whole lcd screen. Thanks in advance and love the video my man ☺️👍

The only thing missing is the glue needed to attach the new screen. There is nothing on this video about any glue.
The repairer in this video has used double sided adhesive. He demonstrates this in the video. Do not use glue, if you use glue and you ever need to remove your screen for a future repair, you will make things very difficult for yourself.
