This is the best jazz band of all time
Yeah, suck it Mingus!
groovy baby
IT SLAPS
Speed jazz!
real
The best punk band ever. Period.
+Richie A word
I agree. The only punk band that ever did anything for me. Only one with a bit of depth and intelligence to their lyrics. And musically also not afraid to do something a bit diff.
One of the only punk bands I truly rock with. The other things I like in relation to punk are bands influenced by it, or have infused it with something, like grunge and some nirvana tunes. Ngl though, some riot girl punk isn’t too shabby either! But maybe that’s because that also relates back to grunge…..lol.
I’ve only really enjoyed Dead Kennedys, Sex Pistols, the clash, and a little bit of black flag. Bikini kill, hole, stuff like that isn’t bad imo either, although that’s not the same kinda punk.
@livvyyyyyyyyyyy I am genuinely asking, as a natural and born punk rocker, what do you like about Sex Pistols?
I am not trying to be a douche, I'm genuinely asking. I can't stand them at all. I especially can't stand who Johnny Rotten eventually evolved into, but that shouldn't be surprising. He was always a contrarian with no real beliefs.
Anyway, thanks for talking about Hole. They are just as real and riotous as the best hard-core bands, just a little pop injected. All of the hatred thrown at them is despicable. Courtney is not perfect but she is nowhere near the worst person in rock, she is respectable and a capable lyricist. Kurt loved her for a REASON. If you have respect for him, you should have respect for the love of his life, at least. I would love her music even without Kurt, but come on, if you claim to love him, you should respect his relationships
100% agree
one of the best bands ever , most of there songs are coming true
I was thinking the same..it's funny you left this comment not even 15 hours ago..especially since this song came out in 82...any fan of DK is a friend of mine!
@@suzycreamcheeze000 im still a punk at heart ,other than Rush or the damned its all about the DKs . Hi and stay safe
@@fred-qx8cs 2112 Such a great album,man!!!!
I was a young grunt listening to this in the barracks in 83 . Pissed off my leadership!⚔️
most of their songs werentrue at the time, but history tends to repeat itself...
I like this so much better than the regular California Uber Alles
I like the lyrics better, but I prefer the sound of the original version.
? Your crazy
The original is boring to me compared to this lol, its still awesome though
themrhc this is the original you dipshit lol
I mean the original version of california uber alles lol..
Badass.
Rest in peace
DH Peligro.
He inspired me to learn the drums
I didn’t know he died. RIP.
Klaus and Jello are definitely having the most fun here. Ray has his muso vibe on.
jello just has such a cool voice, even when he talks
if you haven't yet, you should listen to jello's spoken word albums. even his oldest ones are still relevant today
Wild to have visuals for this shit after imagining it in my head so vividly for 25 years
There’s an inverse relationship between how punk a band looks and how punk they sound😂🤘
A big part of both DK and Black Flag's authenticity is their rejection of the "Punk" uniform and the increasingly conformist attitude of the scene at the time. DK mentions this directly in multiple songs.
@@melvins1992 so real, “what better way to turn people off than to twist ideas for change / into one more church that forgets we’re all human beings?” (From Where do ya Draw the Line)
Best punk band on earth and beyond. Talented, original, witty and rebellious. I loved them in my teens, saw them live, time flew by but their music is still part of my life, I Guess I 'm enjoying them all the more now but I D K why. Their musicianship is superb but that alone would be an understatement, there is something about them that other bands don't have.
What a band every one of them , Ray adopted that Dick Dale surf sound , Klaus best punk bass player ever , DH is a Legend on the Sticks and Jello is the ultimate Punk lead singer
Absolute Legends!
So confused as to why this wasn’t the version included on In God We Trust. I’ve listened to it every day for like 3 weeks straight, absolutely blistering
Another great performance of a classic Kennedys track.
These guys are so loveable and fun
dh peligro is a monster! love it, many thanks
Love the bass line in this one
I think quite possibly this is my fav all time track ever..even after all this time it's still so powerful and fresh..timeless stuff.
thank you peter capusotto y sus videos. Un programa de rock.
D.H. Peligro is a rocket! Like this session!
Hey, you guys, here's the deal. "California Uber Alles came out around 1979..it was a song about California governor Jerry Brown (yes, the same Jerry Brown who's again our governor today). Shortly afterwards Ronald Reagan (who also used to be a California governor) was elected president. Jello Biafra remade the song with similar but different lyrics to parody Reagan. Listen to the lyrics.....they're brilliant in both cases....
Thank you, thank you so much.
My favorite punk rock drummer Jazz/Punk man! You just cannot beat that!;)
Sometimes I think that Jello Biafra could make a good impression of Stewie from Family Guy...
some times I think he could be quagmire
This makes me think Stewie could cover Dead Kennedys songs.
Love this song sooo much!
Yes, that was awesome, hope you kept that one, good golly, 50 years coming up??
Los mejores . El tiempo pasa y los Kennedy s de los 80s siguen inmortales! Toma jazz y punk
This is so classic to see them as real people and get rid of any toxic punk rock stigma, its just fast rock & roll!
Versatility is the last thing anyone would ever expect to find in a classic punk song
Incredible footage - happy birthday to East Bay Ray (born Raymond John Pepperell, November 17, 1958)
Now I'm gonna go listen to LARD
For some reason I knew he was gonna sing "mind" at about 4:15 when I heard "Lock your doors, close your [...]", even though I've never heard this song before. Strange o.O
A "One Direction" ad surrounding a Dead Kennedys video. That's product placement at its finest.
This is insanely great
It's called a 'Tricky Dicky Screwdriver'. [1 part Jack Daniels, + 2 parts purple kool aid(straight from Jonestown) & a jigger of formaldehyde from a jar with Hitlers brain in it.] 5:33 SLAYER!!! \mm/
I'm loving this, studio footage, shows the roots, I do cover holiday but have all the vynil and discs, thank you DK for being personal
Last call for freedom of speech, Jello
Put on your headphones, it's bebop time.
That was awesome. I love how raw and imperfect it is.
YES!
this is awesome!
those hepcats were really swingin
Legendaire dead kennedis toute une époque
perfect video
"You wanna keep that one?" Hahaha!! Fuck yes!
This version is one of the best rock songs of all time.
Is it on any releases?
Lovely stuff...
Despite the questionable politics of seeing this behind 5 seconds of a pointless shitty advert, I gotta say its probably the best thing I ever saw. F'ing fantastic.
All the "In Studio" recordings are but this is No 1.
So good
Class tune
"Last call for alcohol
Last call for free speech
Drink up, your happy hour is now inforced by law.."

wow, the Grammer police are out in full.....*
That is amazing!!!
Thank you Anthony Fantano for leading me to this.
wierd, for me it was the exact opposite the Dead Kennedys led me to Anthony Fantano. I was watching WatchMojos top ten punk rock bands list to see what position they ranked the DK's at, then that led toa top ten RUclips music reviewers video, and now I watch TheNeedleDrop every day.
I didn't realize it at the time but I think punk rock saw the future. The shitty world we thought was coming, came.
It was shitty back then too...
@@matj3296shits never changed. It just got gentrified to look like cutesy capitalist bullshit
Oh please. What exactly about this was a prediction?
WOW ! bravo
this woulda been so cool to see live, you go to a punk show and they like "ight we gonna slow it down now" and hear this banger
this is powerful stuff! only know "holiday" and "police truck" as i'm a metal fan, but really enjoying this
Purple coolade? Is that a Jonestown reference, must be surely
Yes!
Incredible they find fast the old B movie film i take screen Shot they are incredibile
Jello never disappoints, as based today as in the late 70s.
that take was a keeper
Klaus *smirk lvl 100.
prophecy
Fuckin' DH kills on this track
I love how klaus just has a lit cigarette in the bass' neck
Originally done by jet harris. Probably a homage to the shadows.
Firefox + adblock ftw. I never see commercials on RUclips...
Eat your heart out Green Day. While you are whining about the lack of limousine drivers to take you to the club, these guys criss crossed the country on their own dime 40 years ago and actually had a message. What is yours? How the label stood you up at the airport without a concierge?
Luv the dude with glasses
What's that meme? "If the guitarist in the punk band looks like this, you're gonna die in the pit" or something like that.
Klaus Flouride (not his real name)
Muhteşem
that came out before this song
RIP DH Peligro
I'd say 'fuck yeah' but it wouldn't even touch the sides
Is that Seth Macfarlane's Dad?
Change some politician names around and it fits modern america.
Just goes to show that nothing has changed since then.
I remember you from before the war, where my cat became famous, see stamp from Afghanistan. I see you've been to Cambodia again
I was there when you opened for the stones, you had a better e note
Damn D.H. was great!
💯🔥🙏🏻
Welcome 2024🎉
Mar a lago Uber Alles.
Finally! An honest politician
Holy fuck
AdBlock Plus, people... It's your own damn fault if you're still sitting through ads.
DK were doing lounge covers of their own songs way before Richard Cheese thought he could cash in!
If they sang "for all the friends of President *reigning*", this would be eternal and current haha.
Cheez glazzez
👍💫💫💫💫👍
president all of them?
Jello sure has a lot of holes in his blouse
Regardless this is absolutely vicious East Bay Ray can do no wrong.
απεριοριστο σεβας απο αθηνα, ελλαδα!
Man, this is sooooo cooool !
In the desert or Afghanistan....wow.
It almost reminds me of mr bungle the jazz punk thing
what a nice band what if they was making a song about Ronald Reagan and alot of more touchy topics ❤
America just voted for Trump.
dat funk
Fuckin' Right & damned classic. Just sadly this subject is still goin' on.
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
