I noticed that CN rail line is getting to be a very popular Railroad in the US especially in the North I still miss the old s o o Rail lines in northern Michigan
I have to get some books on the CN trains. I have books on the trains of the north east. most in of witch are trains in NY state, since that is where I live. just an amazing place to run your equipment. take care and safe travels. barry
Hi Aaron, thanks for that joy ride on that large but still human size private pike. Seen so much photos while it was builted, using big machinery, geo textile lining....good to see results in action. What are the main differences betwen that controller that seems look alike railroad modeler (radio wave instead of track signal) and your system ? How can you MU ? Thanks for the ride.
@@MillBrookRailroad Honestly shouldn't be harder to do... larger amp, and likely larger speakers in the fuel tanks. Put the subs down low, and put your midrange and tweeters facing up or sideways since they're more directional. Just use a good amplifier and not some walmart special, it does make a difference. I have connected my Loksound decoders to various laptop PC speakers and they sound good. I freaked the neighbors out when I piped it into my JBL Partybox 300 and let it fly... if you stepped back 50-75 feet it really sounded like a 16v567 was idling in my driveway! Honestly the tricky part is getting the sound dispersed better... from a point source it sounds weird, but if you can spread it out, definitely sounds better... but our engines even the big SD units are at best 11 foot long, and you can't get speakers all the way out at the ends.
what type of engine is the CN 1378 ? I have not seen that type of exhaust on an engine before, something unique to CN ? So sorry for your loss Jim but what a wonderful way to celebrate your fathers life. what a great set up to ride the 70 on. plus such a great day for the event!
CN owned two lines into New England: the Central Vermont, from New London, Connecticut to Montreal, and the Grand Trunk from Portland, Maine to Montreal. CN sold the American portions of those lines to short line holding companies. They also own the rest of the Grand Trunk in Michigan. Since then, CN and CP went on a buying spree in the middle of the US. CN bought Wisconsin Central, Elgin, Joliet and Eastern and Illinois Central. Meanwhile, CP bought Soo Line, which bought Milwaukee Road, spun off the original Soo Line routes to Wisconsin Central, then CP bought the Delaware & Hudson and now they've bought Kansas City Southern and Kansas City Southern de Mexico.
G S Abbott was Jim Abbott's father. They built the railroad together at Jim's house and they both enjoyed hosting visitors. George died last year, so Jim thought this was a fitting tribute.
That 1378 was awesome. I bet you had fun running that ! Nice little camelback also. Thanks for sharing this.

I want to see someone, with the smaller steam engine, to make a scale Delorean and put it on the front of it
The only problem I see is the Flux Capacitor would only send you to Lilliputia.
@Mill Brook Railroad your terms are acceptable
Nice weather for a barbecue and train ride. Thanks Aaron and Jim.
and thanks for letting us tag along bro. Most enjoyable. Safe travels
Great looking Canadian national especially the sw1200

Reminds me of the switchers in Edmonton CN yard back in the 1980s.
It is modeled after CN switchers.
I like that American 440
I think you should build your own 1378 would suit your collection and Railroad nicely
Would be no problem with the pt1/2 😏

The control system is called Air Wire. It is DCC for battery powered trains. M-U locomotives by programming a consist. It is fairly complicated.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Those LokSound sound decoders sound great at 6:00
I only wish they were louder, but I understand that is an easy adjustment.

Nice video. Like seeing all the trains. Do you know if there's any railroads like this in NC or SC Have a great day be safe
I believe there is one near Central SC.
@@johnparker7874 thanks I check in to it
What a marvellous Railway is that a privately owned one or a club I like to visit that one day Jeff Melbourne Australia
It is a private track on two acres (not sure what that is in hectares).
It’s interesting how they reinforced the dimon
What is 'dimon'?
Didn’t know of this RR. The Silver Lake RR that I know of is in Madison and has been closed for a while. 👍🎅🏻
I did a video about the Silver Lake Railroad in Madison. I may do another once it reopens.

It's an SW1200. CN's had mufflers.
@@MillBrookRailroad SW1200RS... some rebuilt into CN's SWEEP's locomotives (GP-9 prime mover and high hood on the switcher frame). John
Hello folks a quick question do you have to pay there for entry or a ride and parking
It is a private railroad. If you want to know more about it, you can email Jim from his website: www.highballgraphics.com.
I thought Canadian tanks were polar bears
What does the CN engines run on for fuel and the cost to buy one.
They are battery electric. Custom built, about $11,000 each in 2010.
By contrast, Mill Brook's ES-2-500's are around $4500 with paint and headlights.
Aaron, does Jim have a website for his ride on trains?
He does not, but his railroad is often on TikTok.

Who is the manufacturer of those CN units it’s like a kid in a candy storelol
I think they were built by Titan Trains.
Can anyone tell me about GS Abbott? Who was this person? Sorry if this was in the video and I missed it!
G S Abbott was Jim Abbott's father. They built the railroad together at Jim's house and they both enjoyed hosting visitors. George died last year, so Jim thought this was a fitting tribute.
He smokes, yuck!
Ain't nobody flawless.
