    Great video mate, super nice to see more content on Saxos. I got a 93 000 miles, 1.1 mk2,4 door, petrol as my first car in 2019. To this day I've had some issues with it. My lambda sensor broken off and had to resolder it, I changed my radiator, changed brake rotors and pads, water got thru the radio antena and I sealed it, all bulbs switched, gear knob from a 206 put in, central locking system always breaking, parking sensors put in (I know, I know :D), doors reupholstered, new tail lights, new bluetooth radio and speakers, windshield water pump switched, glove box door hinge broken, parking brakes fail. And I do the regular oil and filters switch.

    i need to weld my saxo basically the sills have gone at the rear which is actually weight reduction, my hazard light button is stuck, it has 128k miles, the sunroof handle is loose, there are 2 holes in the rear inner arches, it needs an under bonnet liner, new badges, needs a new passenger headlight and a dent removed from the tailgate, but aside from that its pretty good

    • @MattysCars
      @MattysCars  3 года назад

      Oh no! I'm sealing the underneath my Saxo soon to prevent rust. Plenty to keep you busy then!

    You might want to get a cheap Bluetooth OBD 2 reader to read your engine fault codes and diagnose the issue. If I were to guess, I'd say it has a random misfire from a dodgy injector, as is very common on those. It might even just need the battery disconnected for an hour or two to reset everything.

    • @MattysCars
      @MattysCars  3 года назад +1

      Thanks mate, I may try the battery suggestion. I work for a garage so will probably get it plugged back in to see if anything comes up when everything calms down next year

    Great video👍👍 the engine light might just be down to fuel grade?? My old Fiat stilo used to be the same and and still is so my friend says.. If he fills a higher fuel grade the light go off .. But if he just fills normal fuel the light comes on.. So may be the same with your Saxo...

      I have a feeling the loose wire of the lambda sensor that was put right has possibly came loose again. Because I only put V power in it most of the time

    I passed my test in March and got a 2001 Citreon Saxo with 34’000 miles on it for £700, other than the few bits of trim falling off (which I fixed) and replacing the old halogen bulb shite with LEDs I’ve noticed that the fuel gauge is abit dodgy and doesn’t always give and accurate reading (if that’s even possible) have you found this with yours? Mine is a Dark blue btw

    • @MattysCars
      @MattysCars  3 года назад

      Well that’s a steal for 700 quid! That’s around what I paid for mine with 65,000 miles on it. I have got that problem but it corrects itself. When the tank is fuller it sometimes says it’s got more fuel than I have. But when it’s got like a quarter of a tank left the gauge will say I’ve got less than what’s in the tank and sometimes bring on the warning light when I’ve still got plenty of petrol. If yours is really bad then maybe a new fuel level sensor? Your Saxo sounds great though
