Gilneas and its people are what actually got me into World of Warcraft, so I completely agree with you! The music hits me right in the nostalgia every time I hear it somewhere in-game!
The thing is, if you are a roleplayer, the Ruins of Gilneas is the place to be. There are no other players. No questlines attached (except forsaken questline) and it doesn't look really ruined at all. Gilneas-city still looks glorious. To be honest, I don't understand why Blizzard leaves Gilneas alone. It's a very interesting nation full of lore!
I really want them to make the battle for gilneas battleground have actual weight and make it into a proper worgen or forsaken city one of these days... I mean, the forsaken have held that land for 3 expansions now and they've just chosen to let it sit there empty? I want them to either develop it or have the gilneans take it back!
@@lizzinator It should be a Worgen City. I don't like the fact that the bulk of the Gilneas faction was halfhazardly thrown into a small corner of Darnassus. Nightelf architecture just doesn't fit the Worgen or the Gilneans at all. Hell, Greymane is in Stormwind. Why not have a section of Stormwind dedicated to the remaining Gilneans instead? There's still plenty of untouched space to go around in Stormwind.
When is Blizzard going to make Gilneas alliance territory again? It has been abandoned since Cataclysm and only has a Forsaken questline related to it. Sylvanas has abandoned Undercity in BFA and thereby the surrounding territory. It would be great if there was a storyline that involves Genn Greymane and his return to Gilneas. I mean, there's an entire city with a huge Cathedral in the middle and a harbor that is still intact. Just do something with it Blizzard.
Really want them to reuse this because right now it's basically wasted real estate. I liked that the worgen starting questline and the Silverpine Forest questline for the Horde were basically the same battle, just from different sides.
I think i know the perfect way to re-introduce Gilneas: With a raid quest. You see, in hearthstone there's an expansion based around the witchwood where an Orc Shaman named Hagatha cursed and corrupted the witchwood into a spooky forest. Using bosses from the monster hunter mode into raid bosses to reclaim gilneas
Literally the best zone in the game. The Gothic Atmosphere and music is spot on. It honestly sucks that Blizzard hasn't done anything with this. The worgen, though they are a "bad" race, have a very unique backstory, and it saddens me that the area is now forgotten. I would pay big money to experience this for the first time again. Blizzard got it right in bfa with drustvar, and omg, I loved it. If they made more like this, I'd might just have to come back to the game.

The only reason I played Alliance was for the worgen and Gilneas. The music is very fitting to this region as well. I just can't believe that this was another area WoW left in the dust with nothing going on.

Best race , best lore , best ruler , best city , best music , best weather .

This zoom filled with memories of my past when my Ex was still alive we roled as worgen and finished the questline together. I suppose for that reason i keep coming back to this game .
The worgen starting zone was great, I was really invested into the story from start to finish. On the other hand I hated the goblin start zone cause it felt like a cocaine-fueled fever dream.
lol, well i'd say that categorizes the goblins pretty accurately, they're maniacs! I also think these two races were a better fit thematically to the warcraft IP as well as the factions they were inducted in compared to the blood elves and the draenei. Both looked weird af and didnt fit either faction.
Thank you again Everness, really enjoy the vids. As a Druid I must ask you if you would upload just the ambient sounds of the Dreamgrove btw thank you for the soundtrack of the Dreamgrove!
Order Halls will be just that, music and ambience combined. But as I explained under Dreamgrove video, Order Hall ambient tracks are either generic room tone or part of the larger zones. So Dreamgrove ambience is just part of Val'sharah ambience for instance.
I love going through WOW soundtracks and finding the soundbites HS developers took for legendary cards. Found Genn Greymane, Tess Greymane, Prince Liam, Darius Crowley, Rin the First Disciple and The Blackhowl Gunspire already.
One of the crowning failures of cataclysm was getting to love this zone and finding out it just sits there empty and unused. It would’ve been a great capital city, albeit too close to the Undercity.

Gilneas city had so much potential to be a main end game hub.. I can imagine the merchant square being like the SW trade district with a bank, auction and where many people would idle
The Forsaken think we're weak. A broken people. They think we'll roll over like a scared dog. How wrong they are. We will fight them in the fields until the last trench collapses and the last cannon is silenced. We will fight them on the streets until the last shot is fired. And when there's no more ammunition, we'll crush their skulls with the stones that pave our city. We will fight them in the alleys, until our knuckles are skinned and bloody and our rapiers lay on the ground shattered. And if we find ourselves surrounded and disarmed... wounded and without hope... we will lift our heads in defiance and spit in their faces. But we will... NEVER SURRENDER!!!!! FOR GILNEAS!!!
i LOVE Gilneas. thanx for uploading this! maybe one day , Blizz is going to renew this Gem so that the worgens can finally return home. For LIAM! give Genn his son, his kingdom back. he has done so many for the Alliance!! for me the only true alliance king.
Hello. Could you please make a video with the music of the Iron Horde from Blackrock Foundry (and other places)? The whole Irone Horde theme music is exceptionally good. =)
+Zsolt Bota BRF will most likely have its own video, but no idea when I’ll make one. This is probably the first time anyone suggested it (I have my own schedule, but still).
Figured you do. I really liked the whole militarism/heroism music made for the orcish Iron Horde (the music was played mostly in Blackrock Foundry / Iron Docks / Grimrail Depot and Gorgrond). Nostalgia hits me when I think of it... it takes me back to BRF progression. In any case, if you get the chance and/or sudgested by other people, it would be awesome. Love all your vids, keep up the good work.
I really wish they would make Gilneas a Hub city. I think it would be awesome, with the phasing tech Blizz has i think it is possible. And Now that in BFA the forsaken no longer dwell in Lordaeron the Worgen could now go back with the aid of Anduin to reclaim it. And maybe re-do the questing (or the option to do the new one or the old one if you wish) so that you alredy start as a worgen, like a rookie who's here to aid in the reclaiming of Gilneas, help building it up, and remove any remaining enemy forces there. And when they are done the King comes to congratulate you for your aid, and then you can walk freely in the city and hang with your fellow worgen, and your allies. Oh oh, maybe the ruins of that town you start as a worgen, where the greymane manor is could become a harbor. there is so much potential in this place. And i love the air of the place. How it feels. And all that. Yeah there should be quests around for Worgen and any visiting players to do, from like level 10 to 60 and such. Edit: Some additional features could be that there are these carriages going around Gilneas, taking players and such from place to place. Some new buildings here and there to fortify it. And maybe the town outside of Gilneas can be used for something as well, and Worgen NPC's walking around, saying things, and does some work animation and such. It would be so amazing i think.
Why didn't Blizzard make Gilneas the front zone? Like the Arathi Highlands. That would be beautiful. Imagine being a forsaken who is trying to defend the wastelands from angry worgen, who have lost both their home and Darnassus. That would literally be my favorite expansion.

This zoom filled with memories of my past when my Ex was still alive we roled as worgen and finished the questline together. I suppose for that reason i keep coming back to this game .
Might i suggest Frostfire Ridge for a future video, that zone had some awe inspiring music.
25:30 Is the entering music of Blackhowl Gunspire and Prince Liam from Hearthstone
One day, we will take our homeland back, Gilneas will prevail!
Both looked weird af and didnt fit either faction.
one of my favorite music ! i love this zone so much, even if it used to freak me out when i was a kid. so much memories
Any friend of Greymane is a friend of mine
I love Gilneas.
By far by far far away...the best wow starting zone ever. Fact.
Thank you for redoing this
+Arwen Cantonwine 👍
Thank you again Everness, really enjoy the vids. As a Druid I must ask you if you would upload just the ambient sounds of the Dreamgrove btw thank you for the soundtrack of the Dreamgrove!
Order Halls will be just that, music and ambience combined. But as I explained under Dreamgrove video, Order Hall ambient tracks are either generic room tone or part of the larger zones. So Dreamgrove ambience is just part of Val'sharah ambience for instance.
My favorite music from cataclysm alongside the lost isles for the goblins. Good stuff.
I love going through WOW soundtracks and finding the soundbites HS developers took for legendary cards. Found Genn Greymane, Tess Greymane, Prince Liam, Darius Crowley, Rin the First Disciple and The Blackhowl Gunspire already.
This is perfect ambience for a curse of strahd game
Exactly
One of the crowning failures of cataclysm was getting to love this zone and finding out it just sits there empty and unused. It would’ve been a great capital city, albeit too close to the Undercity.
Gilneas was one of the very few good things in Cata.
And Gilneas will back in 10.2.5 !!!!! o/
One of my favorite starting zones. It’s sooo dark
Felicidades por todos tus vídeos, son increíbles ojalá crearán una lista de reproducción en Spotify con estas pistas de audio.Un saludo desde España 🙋
0:54 Genn Greymane theme "hearthstone"
5:00 como jode tender la ropa y que empiece a llover
(i tried to translate, but i don,t know how to translate that phrase to english, and google translator is a joke)
by the way Everness,i hope you are truly happy in your real life, because you are truly good person here in youtube, not monetizing your videos with ads ,doing the things only because you enjoy doing it,and sharing it with us , thanks a lot
Gilneas city had so much potential to be a main end game hub.. I can imagine the merchant square being like the SW trade district with a bank, auction and where many people would idle
I really loved the theme music of this place. Its creepy in the right way.
I love Worgens. They are the best. Btw, what did you use to make these cinematic and floating camera angles that you use in your other videos?
+Acewing Dabson a program called Free Far Sight, it’s no longer supported and there is no alternatives at the moment, sadly.
Nostalgia
This was very good i really enjoyed this:)
the Werewolf Elizabethan town and ambiance are just perfect
i LOVE Gilneas. thanx for uploading this! maybe one day , Blizz is going to renew this Gem so that the worgens can finally return home. For LIAM! give Genn his son, his kingdom back. he has done so many for the Alliance!! for me the only true alliance king.
Brings back good memories
51:39 look at those filthy undead
I love the cello and bassoon
This music reminds me a bit of the Mediaval 2 Total War map music when playing campaign.
Mind-blowing visuals and mesmerizing music!
Gilneas fits to me very well.
I like rain and worgens
Who would love to live here?
It's 2024, and we can reclaim Gilneas my Worgen Friends 🐺 🎩👒

🐺
Gilneas is the only example of a werewolf apocalypse that I know of and it's awesome. Why aren't these more common?
Gilneas and worgen are literally the only reason I really ever play Alliance. Most of the time I stick to Horde.
