Great informative video. To get chipping effect for bare metal (silver). I have been using a Sharpie - permanent marker - Silver metallic. You can make nice paint chipping effect. Also if you make a mistake you can use thinner to fix/clean the area.
The Sharpie metallic marker (brass, gold, copper, silver) are very handy and easy to use for metal effects.
Just sharing information since you do a lot of sharing your work.

Great, ya ripped up packing sponge works great for chip effect as well or if working with metal a basic scraping does best.

Yeah, I just finished an HG Hi-Mock using the Sharpie for chipping effect to give him an aged look. Didn't want to break out the paint and sponge. Since the Sharpie was sitting on the desk. Came out pretty good.

Nobody really talks about photo etch so I appreciate it!

Thanks, I've learned alot. I'm totally new to photoetching, but my question is, with my my faverate martion kit, there are alot of things that I wanna paint, but no one seems to wanna deal with it, or am I moving too fast? Like the character has a box, on the show its a silver color with color knobs and stuff, I don't want it bronze, you know, I want it as seen on the show. God, I got a headache, I just got a set of photo etch for my lost in space Jupiter 2, help! :)
