You posted a poll recently about things we wanted to see in watch reviews. THIS and stuff like this is what makes a channel stand out. You just added value and differentiated your channel from the others.

I already know that Addiesdive makes well built watches. I compare it with my Orient all the time and it is just built better than the Mako II. My mako is currently on a replacement strap because the hollow end links failed after i brought my hand down too swiftly one night on top of my car. It fell onto the concrete and didn't have a good time at all. My Addiesdive is still solid, never fell off my wrist because it has solid endlinks. It hit the floor once and the sapphire just held up far better; not a scratch.

    • @RadicallyGreen

Japanese watches are not value prices any longer.
Especially not Seiko. Orient is better when it comes to value but overrated.
Citizen is the best but still not Chinese level.

@@ScoobieDoobie197474 I put it on a blue rubber Vortex strap. I paid $139 for the watch at the time, although for some reason it's selling for $164 on Amazon at the time of this comment, so I didn't feel right spending $60 on a bracelet for it. My Addiesdive Tuna homage cost me $67. I spent $5 extra and got a milled clasp. In addition, it has Sapphire glass and solid end-links. I think I got the upgrade I want already. My mistake was not buying the Bambino instead of the Mako II because I only have one dress or dressy watch.

Well done Addiesdive. I have a few of them and, apart from the silly name, love everything about their quartz offerings.
I am not so fond of their automatic watches after buying a fantastically inaccurate auto but can recommend their quartz offerings to all. I was hoping that they would release a version of the Explorer with applied indices and quartz movement but eventually got tired of waiting and bought the one from Watch Dives.

Thank you for testing several Addiesdive watches. It's comforting to know that these inexpensive watches should be able to handle recreational swimming or perhaps a dip in the hot tub.
I have an Invicta Pro Diver (quartz) that let moisture in after wearing it in the shower (silly, I know). The culprit? Not Invicta, me. When I changed the battery, the back gasket didn't seat properly and let water in the watch. I should probably let the local jeweler replace my batteries just to be safe.

I had to remove a gasket in my Addiesdive Submariner, Quartz model with 200M Water Resistance. Removed the gasket in the crown, there’s a gasket in the crown tube, and I have it fully screwed down so it should be absolutely fine for showering, swimming ect.

  • @modulo3664

Be aware that while the waterproofing gaskets might be intact now, some might not be greased at all and dry out prematurely making them far less effective. I saw this in my Cronos when I opened to regulate.

Great news! I swam in my pool with my invicta 200m quartz diver and it failed!!! It was a chronograph diver so I suspect it was because of the pushers not being sealed rather than the crown or case back, but either way, was not expecting that. So far I haven't had any issue with any aliexpress watch that is rated 100 m swimming with them from addies to steeldive to pagani design. Personally would love to see a Herman II that is able to test 100-300 m that would be cool!

I would have thought pressurising the tank after the watch is under water would be the best test as the pressure inside the watch will be lower than the water pressure making it easier for water to get in,

I swam with my $50 VH31 dune dial and it survived. Of course, I pulled it apart and greased the dry caseback and crown gaskets, and tested it to 25 bar without the movement and dial to be sure. Swimming is a non issue. It has a screw down system for both caseback and crown, unlike the Tag Monaco which has no pusher gaskets, a single gasket pushpull crown and a screwed-in caseback.

I have their GADA you tested, it only has a few threads to the screw-down crown and I was concerned. Glad to see it is holding up. 100M W.R. is sufficient. But my other AddiesDive is their 1000M diver "hockey puck". It appears to be able to achieve it. But I always had a nitpicking feeling whether these Chinese brands are honest about their W.R. ratings. I guess so for the top brands.
