For 10 years I worked on Kawasaki commercials and ad campaigns in the USA. I got to visit the museum two years ago. My friend and I road there on the 2018 Ninja 1000. That week we went over 1600 miles around the country. This museum is a must for enthusiasts!
FYI you’d make a fantastic voiceover artist for their streetbike commercials. I would have hired you. It was always tough to get someone right for the job.

I am still riding my old but pristine Kawasaki Blue 2001 Concours with the ZG 1000 4 cylinder, 4 28 mm carbs, drive shaft, fully adjustable air ride suspension, and no radio, no frills, motor music and lots of care free fun. As long as you give it a little love it will pay you back 100 fold. And the bike still looks like it is not out dated today. I just put new Michelins on it and I would not be scared to go anywhere in the entire country or anywhere north. I think I will stay out of Mexico. And hell I am going to turn 68 y/o soon. It's just a number man.

I've only been on a bike once in my life. Didn't want the long hike up to Besakih Temple in Bali so hopped on the back of a bike. Held on for dear life--never again ! I can appreciate your need for speed though. Love your 360° vids.

Kawasaki history? My wits perked up when I saw this video title. I was a tech and service manager for Kawasaki bikes from 1967 - 1980. I motocrossed an F2-1M in '67, one of the first on the East coast, U.S. A. Like you, I recall the original Z1 as a favorite. A gentleman motorcycle with comfort and great punch from the powerplant when one asked for it. Hope you show more of the older models eventually like the F1 175cc - very solid little bike in it's day, and the A1 and A1R 250cc models.

    • @PetervonGommJAPAN
      @PetervonGommJAPAN  5 лет назад

Interesting to hear! Did you notice much change in the reliability of the bikes in the years you worked on them?

@@PetervonGommJAPAN For the most part, yes, especially when the four cycle units began to sell. There were some times with the first KZ400s when they came out - oil leaks up the cylinder head studs from some casting and machining in the cases. By 1978, problems were dealt with in order and new models were solid and trustworthy. I'd like to find a '78 to use myself these days. Those were exciting times but a few clunkers mixed in. I personally didn't care for the graphic trim on some of the models from 1970 through '73. The Z1 was a cut above all the others in finish.

1975 Kawasaki F11 250 was my first bike... in 2009... Still ran like a champ and never left me stranded and i rode the hell out of it. Never had a bike i liked as much as that. I'd love an H3 or any of those old multi cylinder 2 strokes. Still waiting for a new 2 stroke twin from Kawasaki. It would be such a beast with todays 2 stroke tech.

Keeping in line with naming the H1 500 'Mach III' for its cylinder count, the H2 was known as Mach III 750 in Japan. In the US they named the H2 'Mach IV' so not to be confused with the 500. The cab driver was probably remembering his 750 as a Mach III correctly. Here's proof of the name ruclips.net/video/kBkx2U2q5gU/видео.html

My First motorcycle was a used 1979 Kawasaki KX80 dirtbike. My dad got it & we would go the big corner park & he would have me go around the edge of the park to learn to ride it & shift it, till a neighbor called police & we were told not too.

I remember living in Portland in 1983 lusting after the Kenny Lawson KZ 1000R and later the Ninja 900 which I thought was ugly and the GPZ 750 Turbo not mentioned here which I wanted so bad! None of which were as cool as our bright red Lambo Espada we imported from Italy!

    Big Kawa fan . First a Z900 and later a ZZR-1100 with a dyno-kit , she was fast . Had her for about 10 years .

This place is on my hit list for my next trip. Looking to make a day trip of the museum along with the bullet train side of it. Will look to a nice proper beef restaurant experience and city exploration in general.

Beer taste water is because most people don't like to drink water when they're drinking beer. But it's healthy to drink a cup of water after each beer. The answer is beer taste water. You won't notice your drinking water after a while. Pretty wise.

Wow I didn't know there is Kawasaki Museum in KOBE! I want go there! I have been in Kobe BUT I didn't know all that it is place of Kawasaki industry.
I like how 70's Kawasakis looked. Like that 750 IV. And I have owned Kawasaki.
I understand why that Kawasaki 900 is your favorite. IT IS beatiful (and I guess quite powerful for that time).
Was that close to Kobe harbor? (well I can Google it :D ) If I ever go back Kobe I want to there.
My other dream is to drive motorcycle in Japan along beatifyl coast roads.
    Thanks for this video!

There was missing the Kawasaki Gpz 750 turbo 1984-85, I don't know if they show it in the museum or not, but I know they were taken out of the market for the deaths it caused. My friend currently has one with 26,000 miles approx. greetings from Bolivia

By the way, Cycle World had a recent story on their website about the Honda museum. In one of the photos, an original Kawasaki Z-1 is seen in their collection, paying tribute to a fearsome competitor. Imagine that!

Kawasaki green is named "Molly" green after Kawasaki US INC [LA] commissioned a painter In 1970 to come up with a colour . Rollin " Molly"Sanders was the man responsible,he also did the bumble bee block colours for Yamaha and the Lexus logo.
