    As a teenager, In the early 70s, I lived on Wellington Road, near the Junction of Plumtree Road. Masiyephambili Road didn't exist then. So it's very interesting to see how things are now. In the opening shot, you must have been standing close to my old home. Thanks for posting this interesting video.

      Hi, we were probably standing right by your house 😎. That's what we discovered when we were doing research for the film, we found a 1957 map of Bulawayo from UCT online library and found that the road did not exist then. It was a surprise to us. Thank again for watching and commenting.

    I am so used to driving fast in Harare that I found drivers in Byo so slow. I did 100km/h on that Masiyephambili road, I had no idea the limit was 70 haha

    Honestly that is poorly done. Grass verge is out off control. Poor road markings.. vading as usual. Its as though they put more water in the paint. Potholes coming back on the newly surfaced roads. Poorly surfaced. Intersections are poorly done again. Who was given the contract to fix that roads. Poor standards... usual in Zimbabwe. Contractors are just doing half jobs. Go back next year and show us that road again....... as for me am disappointed because we applaud Poor workmanship.....

      As the video says, the road was riddled with potholes but now it's a pleasure to drive on , it's a work in progress and thanks to the team who did the dirty work for you to watch it on our phones

      Thank you so much for your insightful comments. That is the unfortunate part sometimes, misallocation of funds makes our leaders do a poor job on these important projects. We are not sure who was given the contract. I hope the road lasts though.

    A very misleading video of the current state of roads in Bulawayo, I wouldn’t be surprised if it later turned out Zanu pf sponsored this video, it being an election year and all. Maybe you should also show us one of the major pot-holed roads like Luveve road, and Khami road (starting from emangcwabeni to Drill Hall - the stretch around Coca-Cola must be at its worst ever)
    I won’t even talk about the roads in residential areas, the young amongst us would never believe these roads were once tarred.
    We need to stop glorifying mediocrity and demand more from these fat politicians, this quality of road you’re showcasing should only be celebrated in rural areas, not in a so-called second biggest city like Bulawayo.

    • @zwangendabaproductions6005
      @zwangendabaproductions6005  Год назад +2

      Thank you for your insightful critique, we appreciate you for raising the concern. Yes, it is as you say, this is only a highlight of one road in Bulawayo out thousands, some of which deserve more attention that this one.
      Our first rationale to highlight Masiyephambili is that it is the longest road in Bulawayo and that it's the likely route for the Trans-African Highway #4 that is being developed by African Union. Second, is that the road received recent upgrades.
      To be honest, the state of roads in Bulawayo is not news, everyone and their cat knows ukuthi roads are bad. What is news is something, anything being done. We are not road engineers so we can't judge whether the upgrades will last, only time will tell.
      Your critique is valid my friend, before we posted the video, we considered leaving out "upgrades" from the title, but it would have been disingenuous for us to leave it out. The "upgrades" are recent and the road is better than it was.
