Yeah except that freeskates are much more fun, have more tricks and you can actually use them for transportation since they are portable and don’t need a spare pair of shoes
@@Pavel_grodman I've been going everywhere with my skateboard for 13 years now, uphill, downhill, school, work, travel etc. Skateboards with cruiser/ softer wheels are the holy grail for doing tricks and going long distance. To me, these freerange rollerskates are just a hindrance if you know how to inline-skate or skateboard. Sorry if this came out sounding aggressive or belittling, didn't mean to, just an opinion from my own experience! :)
@@TatuRahikainen-it8rh nah it’s ok, I just don’t like having to constantly push myself to get speed, with those you don’t have to and going around is kinda effortless if the road is smooth enough, but then again it’s my personal experience
I don’t think this dude has any idea how deep the rollerblade rabbit hole is. There is so much in the realm of style set ups and tricks. Of course the athletic inlines would limit you on tricks but then again I’ve seen people pull off all sorts of grinds and tricks with them too. So it’s probably just a skill thing for him.
Inline are better with really no contest in most urban environments, longer runs, and for learning. I see the appeal of free skates, but would personally only use them for messing around in some mostly flat controlled surfaces.
I mean yeah this is mostly down to personal preference, but freeskates are just as capable for distance rides and such, I dont think there really is a clear winner
Wish we had a pro to compare with! Regardless, I’ve given the point to inlines in this category already - Not trying to prove anything :) I however I do think I it’s important to explain that both are capable of high speeds, no matter which one will win in a race. Thanks for your input 🤙
You can use the straps of your inline skates to attach them to the straps of your backpack. That way they'll just hang besides you and they can also act as cupholders.
This video leans more towards free skates. I think if you like free skates better that’s fine but when making a video it’s best to be honest about both.
As someone who skates in the city I definitely prefer the rollerblades for easily going up and down. That's also the reason why I dont't use my pennyboard so often. I cam't ollie with it so it will tale a longer time to go up that with rollerblades or a scooter.
@@jmkride I think learning the would not be a problem. For some reason it’s very easy for me to learn skills like skateboarding, rollerblading or ice skating. Major problem for me right now is lack of money and my location (I’m polish) so it’s hard for me to get freeskates, but when I graduate, get co college and find a job I will try to get them
As a guy who is all around with these types of things, the easy way to put it is preference, i am still learning free skates with only about acouple hours of truly able experience though based on what you like inlines are fun i prefer speed roller skates, theygive you better ankle yse and freedom and are enjoyable, inlines feel great and for most the heel stop is easier than the toe stop, free skates are complex if you have experience in many other things though feel incredible when you learn them, rip sticks are fun though if you enjoy speed cruising then the back wheel can burnout very easily, long boards all have there own perks though they feel nice and require consistent step down from the board similiar with scooters, skateboards got dmaller wheels though can be one hell of a grind, and if you know pogo stick then you know it's one hell of a fun ride. Sadly i have not gotten a unicycle yet😢😢. But yeah pick based on how you feel, will say between the mentions i just made freeskates fall in budget terms between a penny board and starter roller skates so it makes them pretty nice
The feet platforms kinda suck for anything but tricks, downhill I could see someone going decently far but rollerblades are just more well stuck to your feet like shoes. Idk bout you but I prefer keeping my transportation with me when I fall into oncoming traffic, with the free skate things if you fall on the road there is a decent chance they will end up down a drain
Your concerns are valid! I think there are pros and cons to everything. Never had the storm drain thing happen but I’m sure it’s possible. As for being attached, I prefer to be able to bail away from my skates and fall on my own two feet rather than back onto wheels. As someone who uses them a ton for commute, in my experience they are incredibly efficient for just about everything (uphill, downhill, high speeds, stopping quickly). The one area they lack is the ability to quickly jump curbs, or anything that requires the skates to stay with you as you jump. Personally that’s a trade-off I’m willing to make for the feeling these give when cruising :) Cheers!
Honestly if I’m ever going short distance that are too long to walk and too close to put on rollerblades they’re a clear choice but those are very rare circumstances. I could see these being used around college campuses though as most aren’t that big but could be useful for the short walks. Idk your thoughts?
I love rollerblades but the freescates look really cool, but the freescates probably not for swerving around fast objects on the streets. The rollerblades are no the best ether because thare kinda hard to learn and for some people thare really scary on how fast you go. If I was rating both Freescates 5/10 Rollerblades 5/10 Remember with time and consideration you can do anything.
Which is better for places that have so many downhills 😅? I just think that durability wise scraping Rollerblades wheels as brakes becomes a downside right?
If you want speed, get a Waterbourne Surf Adapter for your trucks. It acts a little bit like Gullwing trucks, but only on the front. Gives you the ability to carve to gain speed, and can even take you up shallow hills without having to push. Only downside is that you have to relearn how to ride because of the new pivot point, but that happens quick.
@@hello_dude2321 yes, yes, and yes. I've seen people grind em no problem. They're immensely safer because at any moment you can literally just step off. Not really. The freeskates have much less impact potential since you can't really jump without a ramp of some sort. Plus the fact that you're not locked in means if anything starts to go awry you can step off at any point and be back on stable ground.

Yeh
1 more point for the rollerblade...😂😂😂
I was boutta say that lmao
He did a trickshot
Yeah i was looking in the coments to see if enyone saw it
I think I would go rollerblades, no offense. But I don’t wanna look like the elephant man having a seizure when I’m getting up to speed. 😬

You just can’t go as fast as inline. Comparing experienced freeskater to an un experienced rollerblader doesn’t prove your point…

Not talking about how hard it is to learn 😅
God forbid one might have to practice something
Yp it may take forever to feel confortable
no one talking about when he threw the rollerblade it stood up😮
Thats what I was thinking
both are fun in its own way. it's up to personal preference. inline was my childhood, now I doin freeskates, freebord and snakeboard.
That's why inlines should go on a carabiner hooked to the backpack.
Team Rolla blades I have my own pair there so fun but they do take a long time to put on 😂
Did anyone else realize that the rollerblades landed click here if you did?
TIL free skates exist

That would be why he said he's biased.
Looks like roller blades actually wins because when he threw it land and kept riding
They need to bring back agressive inline skates to the X -Games!
The roller blade at the very end 😆
The Rollerblade keeps rolling when he throw it
Rollerblades will always win it for me. I prefer the steadiness they offer my ankles and feet. Which is a big advantage you did not mention! ^~^

But hurt way worse when you fall

I would definitely try free skates but we don't have good places with smooth roads here :((
Have you tried skating facing forward with the free skates turned wheels up and down?
I’m rollerblading since I turned 3 and I’m pretty good at it. I must say I’m super curious about freeskates and would love to try them out
