Overall Ultra Despair Girls is a solid spinoff while the plot isn't the most amazing and there are some rather uncomfortable moments the dynamic between Toko and Komaru really makes the game shine.
Tbh i disliked him even before he said that because of his whole "I'm gonna stay put forever and cower here without doing anything" and also because he legit imprisoned Komaru and Toko. I never liked him in the first place but that line made it 100x worse

Ultra despair girls is a pretty good game in my opinion. Toko' s character development was great! I loved that it was some sort of like shooting game as well! The fact that You could see some of the relatives of the danganronpa characters in dr1 was pretty exciting. That is my opinion on ultra despair girls.
Yeah same, even tho the game has some questionable scenes, lines and minigame, dont let that distract you from Toko's character development and the other really good stuff. Also Komaru is an amazing protag and Toko is sometimes a straight up mood (their friendship is also adorable af) UDG is really underrated and deserves more love tbh.
Maybe this was before they made Haji's character. Like they made the design, said this was one of the main characters, and went from there before they changed their minds.

Well Ultra Despair Girls is a good game tbh, yeah It is a very different game than the rest of the games but I think it did a very good job at showing the outside of the walls of Hope's Peak Academy and introduced the relatives of the original 16. So In short It's a very good game but not my favorite.
Wasn't there another concept were instead of fighting against the WOH, they were going to fight each of the remnant of despairs? I can see why they might have scrapped that concept because it might contradict the events of SDR2,but instead of killing them maybe they were just knocked/passed out? Still an interesting idea to think about how it would work out and affect the story in the game
The Komaru and Toko chained together thing reminds me of Knuckles Chaotix tether mechanic, and maybe there could’ve been a gameplay section similar to that.

I love another episode and honestly I wish more people played it even though I understand the "topics" of the game are too much for people I still wander what could have been if the game was finished as first intended instead of what we got even though what we got was still so good I can't complain

I really love UDG especially cuz it's really dark compared to the other games. I love the story and the character development of every character is great in my opinion. The only bigger issue the game might have is the gameplay but I still think it's good.
Also in an interview I think they said they wanted to incorporate a popular character as a cameo : and that's why komaeda is present in the game Some went against the idea but then it happened and in my opinion I'm truly relieved they didn't gave up on the idea
I just wish i could play as all the protags and have different weapons. Komaru has megaphone, hajime has finger guns, kaede has a sound gun, makoto has a truth gun and shuichi has a gun yes a gun because detectives need to have a gun.
