@@Pudknuckle they don't get rehearsal time so it's to be expected. It's why they all look at the cue cards instead of the characters they talk to in the skits. He's still funny AF!

There's actually a movie called "Shadow of the Vampire" that had Dafoe as a vampire. This is just an extension of that and maybe his role as the hotel manager on "The Florida Project".
Chris saying “I think he internalized that vampire stuff.” Had me in stitches. Willem was killing it with the vampire stuff and Chris just helped solidify the absurdity of the joke with that simple statement. Such a great sketch.
Y’all better have Willem back. He killed everything he did this episode. This skit was especially on his back and his performance really helped the cutaways. Fantastic stuff

The tragic part of this sketch is that a "nice jail" that allows prisoners to more easily transition to civilian life is actually kind of a good idea.
Especially those with their vampire head ass.

At the very heart of the best comedy lies a kernal of tragedy. The fact that medieval unconscionably brutal imprisonment is the norm in the USA is what actually gives the underlying humor in this sketch its legs. That and DaFoe masterfully playing against type. Well done. I myself am a monkee head ass, but I don't mind at all.

Willem is perfect for SNL..even when he messes up its like hes in on the joke. Surprised it took this long for Lorne to have him on.
I guess because he's been in NWH, French dispatch and other things, he's gaining traction. But for sure he should have hosted way back
I didn't even realize he messed up until I saw the comments. I thought he was building up to a reveal that his vampire head ass had flown out of jail, taken over the marriot, and stolen a uniform from a receptionist named "Amy". Hell, I'm not fully convinced he didn't.
What did he mess up?
@@negative6442 He flubbed a few lines at the start but mind you this is a rehearsal run, not intended for broadcast. The sketch was never performed on the show (There is always an extra sketch rehearsed in case there is time to fill).

I love that this implies that he's blackmailing them, despite the whole premise of "Nice Jail". I wonder if blackmailing people is why he went to jail in the first place.

Same reason the scene in Spiderman 2002 where Norman gets his hand slapped by Aunt May for picking at the casserole during Thanksgiving dinner, then just stares at her with murderous intent as he licks his fingers and sharpens the knife to carve the turkey is considered funny: you're more laughing out of fear than hilarity.
I thought it was some weird vampire serial killer thing where they like to lick things that they're sending to their victims or having to do with their victims like they want to spread their DNA in some way if not by spittle from their mouth onto an envelope that they know the other person will touch.
Cause of the implication....seems his blackmail is cause of like half of the"guests" at Nice jail. Since he doesnt seem motivated by money,why does he do it? He already has eternal life,what the hell is this vampire head ass up to?

Its always been cool how Willem jumps into his character roles. These recent snl sketches are really off the wall. None of his characters are typical or expected. Some people simply fit perfectly in a show like this.

I can see why this may have been cut- it runs a bit long and doesn't really go much further than the simple joke of him being really hung up on people making fun of him for looking like a vampire- but his performance really sells it. If I could choose to swap this out with anything, I'd axe the "Blowing Yourself" skit.
Same. I like the concept of the sketch. It's just a weird premise that I think could've worked better if it had been cut short by about a minute. I'd replace the Office Song sketch with this one though.
I loved the Blowing Yourself one ! I think unfortunately I'd have to cut the dog show
The only way I could see that happening is if viewers complained about the "Blowing Yourself" sketch being too raunchy and they replace that sketch in reruns with this (it has happened before on other episodes, like when they cut a TV Funhouse cartoon about Michael Jackson and replaced it with another about Pat Robertson's newest Christian family values show devolving into a Britney Spears PSA about sex). Sadly, that never happened.

it was hilarious. robert pattison complaining about the cooking didn't upset willem till robert said he would ef a steak if he had one. that was what got to willem. it was kind of funny. when a sex act was mentioned willem became like a genuinely hurt wife saying 'you don't like my cookin?'
Andrew always kills it with his delivery. Hope he's on SNL for a long time.
