Thankyou for a great Vid !! This Video made me go out and buy both the Mach 3 and Proglide. Because of work I have to shave every day and the PROGLIDE in my case works a better and closer shave. I had to learn to use each Razor differently though because they are both so different- and its possible you are used to using a Mach 3 and using both shavers the same way ( same technique ) without learning how to use the Proglide properly to maximise its Shave. I just threw away my Mach 3 as the Proglide is way better for me.

On the Mach 3 very hard to come off the damn cartridges maybe I got a bad handle it feels like it will break when changing the blades

Thanks for this review! I literally was holding both products one on each hand deciding which one to go for. I ended up choosing the mach 3 as i felt that the battery was probably a gimmick and I couldn't see how it would have helped with a better shave. That decision was vindicated after watching your review. 👍

WOW I was thinking the same, appreciate your more scientific confirmation. Interesting that the power vibrate did not make a difference. You did not mention the roller ball on the Powerglide, guess another great idea that does not make a difference!!

What are the 'small dark patches' you were referring to in the video (3:12) actually?
Wow! Watching a video from seven years ago. I don't know what the hell I was talking about. Trying to take a guess at what I was trying to say (unbelievable), I believe what I meant by "dark patches" is that side of my face had more visible hair stubble that wasn't cut as low/closely as the hair on the alternate side. I cringe watching this video. I don't know how in the world I got 73K views on this.

I agree, Mac3 all the way. I will say though, that I have a vibrating handle and I've noticed a very small difference in my shave from the times I've used it. I've also seen people talk about safety razors, and I've tried that. I stick to my Mac3 because it's simple to use. I can't seem to get the technique down with safety razors. All in all, totally dug the video. Thumbs up!
Just switched from the turbo to the regular mach 3. Big difference mach 3 regular is safer for people who are prone to razor burn. But for a closer shave go with the turbo. Fusion is gimmicky but decent for people who aren't hairy.

I just purchased the Schick hydro I'm heavily dissapointed with it so I'm probably gonna wait another week and buy the Gillette mach 3 and I've used the mach 3 disposables they were amazing
Did you just purchase the Schick Hydro in this year or have you been owning it since before 2016? Due to the popularity of this video I went out and bought one just to do a comparison between it and the Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power. I just uploaded the comparison video for that. I think it is a tad bit better than the Fusion, but believe it won't be better than the Mach 3 when I conduct my test with that soon. The reason I ask you when you bought yours is because they had a redesign of the Hydro 5 in February of this year, so it could be radically different from the one you own or it could be the same one.
+The Gentleman's Club I recently purchased the Schick hydro 3 not the 5 which I heard is a little better but I went back to the mach 3 it's a better shaving mechanism than anything else so I have my Schick hydro handle to my friend
Good to know. Would also be awesome to know if one gets dull faster than the other.
Generally they tend to dull around the same time. That's really too close to call, but if you looking for best bang for buck than the Mach3 on the count of the fact it's cheaper for more blades so it's obvious which one will last you longer without question.
The Gentleman's Club thanks. also would be interesting to look at the alternatives. For example Bic Hybrid 3 (the only decent alternative I got in my local store) vs Gillette Mach 3.

I tried fusion proglide flexiball today and in comparison to Mach 3 Turbo, the performance was bad. I was really disappointed. Mach 3 Turbo is far better.
Dude there is like no shaving cream on your face and thats why the razor is tugging i would reccomend you to watch a video on lathering shave soap or just use the canned stuff.

There is SO much more to razors than these. A slant razor would have made quick work of your goatee. Guarantee it.
An adjustable razor be it from Gillette, Merkur or Schick is for everyone. The beauty of ADJUSTABLE which gives you whatever aggressiveness you want.
Not going to lie I shaved with the Flexball power razor minus the vibration and it gave a smooth shave. No razor burn of any kind. Beautiful shave. People want to hate on Gillette but hey I'm on Team Gillette from old school DE from back in the day to this Flexball power razor.
Amazing where and how far Gillette has come.
Now I did try it with the vibration one and noticed no improvement in the quality of the shave versus non vibration. Only thing it did was numb my fingers. Overall though shave still came out smooth.
Im a mach 3 user. You can get the blades for $2 each at walmart. One blade will last me 1 month so thats $24 a year to shave. Not bad.

When mach 3 came along I bought it and thought it was so good that I stopped looking for even better razors. However I assumed Fusion ProGlide was better but I thought the mach 3 was good enough. Now I know better. Thank you!

Sorry for the late reply but definitely the best bet for your head. Let me tell you I went Michael Jordan skinhead bald countless times with this razor so I can vouch for it.
Sir i guess you were using fusion 5 blades and they do tug a lot it's true but fusion proglide power blades or fusion ProShield blades are better.

Who's here in 2020?
Gillette peaked with the Mach 3. They’ve never beaten it, even with the gimmicky Mach 3 heads they later churned out. It’s my razor of first choice when using a cartridge razor. I usually use electric (I just can’t stop collecting the damn things) or a DE safety razor though.
That test is accurate, Mach 3 has sharper blades and since the gap between blades are wider the possibility of clogging is less than fusion.
the trimmer worth all the money, rest is just marketing. 3 blades, 5, 2...aloe-vera..bulls*it!!
find and buy mack3 Power razor (with trimmer, green one) and is enough! I have Fusion Proglide Power (trimmer) and the blades is more expensive than mack 3...damn it, stupid marketing! i would be more content with mack 3 power, cheap blades, but quick shaving as proglide.
Gillett should've stopped at Mach3; anything after is just hype.
Honestly to a large extent I have to agree. Yes, give people options for with / without lubricant or different number of blades and small things like that. But it could be EASILY done without like 5 ranges of products with 3 variants of each.
