    I had no idea what this game was until watching... but man does this look like a sweet title! Thanks for shining a spotlight on this hidden gem!

      You're very welcome. It is cool. I'd still prefer Golden Axe or Knights of the Round, but this is very good.

    I've played this briefly way back in the day. Looks fun with a healthy dose of repetition. Be fun to play with a friend but not sure if I'd ever play solo. Great job on this review, Joe! Surprised how expensive SNES games are. Certainly not $70 good from what it looks like.
    My favorite genre of Arcade is either classic old school games like Galaga or fighting games like SFII, MK, and Virtua Fighter.

      I haven’t had the chance, but I’m sure that co-op would make it much more fun!

    Beat'em ups are my favorite arcade genre, so I'm good with you being on a beat'em up kick lately.

      They're most definitely mine, and I'm sure I'll be playing a lot more of them in the future!

    At the time when this game came out it was the closest thing one could get to a home version of the Capcom D&D games. Not that this is a port of the D&D games but similar enough :)

      Those Capcom D&D games are something I really want to check out! I hear they were released on the Saturn, but only in Japan. I might have to look into getting a Saturn!

    my favorite arcade games are light gun games like house of the dead, jurassic park, terminator, ect. and racing games like crazy taxi, out run or cruis'n, ect.

      Very cool choices. I've really not played too many of either. I know it's kind of a crap game, but I have a soft spot for Revolution X. As for arcade racers, I'm terrible at it, but I really enjoy Daytona USA.

    I didn't know this existed. As for your question, I really like Area 88 another great Capcom arcade game. So shmups.

    I play first time at jamma pcb this game in my local arcade game shop. May be 1999 or 2000.

    I just played through this game last weekend and I agree with your review. It's a good, but not great arcade beat'em up. It is fun, but not worth more than 40 or 45 bucks. I also thought it was a little easy. On my first play I managed to make it all the way to the final boss. I didn't finish the game, but I think after a few more attempts I should be able to beat it. Good review.

      It is a bit limited compared to similar games that are out there. I got that Japanese copy that i show for $35.

    Very good review? But isn't King of the Dragons releaased before Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom? And I enjoy beat-em ups and platformers most of all.

    • @joegoesretro
      @joegoesretro  6 лет назад

      Yes, Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom came later. I allude to that in the beginning of the video.

    Looks like a cool enough game but that fucking price tag. Dam! Well, to answer your question my fav arcade style game is Space Invaders style. The Galaga, Galaxian, Xevious, and of course the original Space Invaders. Night even lump my fav cabinet of all time, Centipede in there.

      @joegoesretro  7 лет назад +1

      That's my BIGGEST issue with SNES games, I see the prices of things and get so turned off.

    Another great review! I have not played this game in awhile, but from what I remember it was fun.. How do you decide on what games you want to review??

    • @joegoesretro
      @joegoesretro  7 лет назад

      Often, the games I choose to review are just whatever I feel like playing at the time. For this one, I been reviewed other Capcom beat 'em up games (Capt. Commando and Final Fight 2) and thought this would be a cool choice.
