Umbrella maker Leung So Kee was founded in 1885 during the Qing dynasty’s rule in Canton, now called Guangzhou in mainland China. Almost 140 years later, the company is still going strong in Hong Kong. Its owners say its success is based on one promise - that its products will always be fixed free of charge, for life.

Diligent hard working umbrella maker.
A little bit of a translation error at 0:52. Instead of "It's not just the customer's lifetime, as long as the umbrella is there, we'll fix it" He actually said "the repair service is for the lifetime of the umbrella, not the lifetime of the customer".
I never knew about this place. Now I have to go and get an umbrella. Thanks for showcasing the business. I'd like to see more like this company.
I have had my umbrella from leung so kee for over 40 years. It still works and I cherish it. I am glad the shop is still around.

It's a relatively famous brand for locals, especially for the older generations. Even back then they weren't cheap

I have one of these umbrellas and thought I almost lost it. It will be one of the last things I ever got with my mother before she passed away in March 2024.

Great shop and a great variety of umbrella. I attented one of their workshops which was very informative and cordial atmosphere, between longtime customer and new customer. It was fun! 😊 Even couples attented the workshop. I got mine and so happy with it. If you have time to attend the workshop, it is great to know how to make your umbrella. 😊
Love his business strategy and environmentally friendly, too! I’ll definitely check out this place when I visit in the summer.

I’d love to own one of this type of umbrella. However, I am a person who always lose umbrellas. With that price, name and phone number should be hand embroidered on the umbrella. 😂

Assuming that the umbrellas are of the highest quality is a mistake. I would not want to make a trip to the shop every five minutes. As well, what would I do to protect my superb coiffure during the repair process?

Here is the prove friends, you need brand new German partners in business, those who have the cycling hobby, they invented the...anti rain outfit, no need to get any umbella but...put it on, having safe coat that can face any rain water...assault. Umbrellas are ..just for cute touristic gadgets and foreign atractions, umbrellas are rather protection against solar radiations than rain...think about it friends 🎉❤🎉
Anorak and raincoats are a better option for most. In south africa we have really bad rain and wind at the same time, even kids school bags come with a special compartment for there anorak and raincoats
