  • This video shows how to fillet a trout. My first trout filleting video is a "quick reference", but this one shows specific details on how to do it. All you need is a sharp blade and a trout! Thanks for watching, sharing, and commenting! Please subscribe for more random DIY videos.

Great tutorial. Those Cutco knives are no JOKE! Nice touch with the plaque. You deserve it.

Thanks, Phil and all the resident fishermen either are gone to glory or moved. All I ever got from a fillet knife was a run to the v.a E.R and 7 stiches in a finger. Happy fish eating and God Bless Yall!

Ha! I probably have a scar from every knife I've owned. probably cut myself today. I'm doing a lot of canning. My kraut is done and ready to can, and I'm probably going to can chili today (I'll film that). love having chili ready for the skillet on the wood stove. Stocking up on firewood too. Rumor has it, that it's going to be a hard winter where I live.

@@PhilCrockett I was trying to peel an apple and never knew it till the blood started pouring. Peripheral neuropathy has it's good and bad points. Off to the v.a. we went but had a WONDERFUL doctor to sew me back up. You know how 'ALL things' go! The Bible never lies!

I've seen a lot of these videos and so far I think your demonstration is the best. Simple. Straight forward. Very good information. Thanks for your work.

I haven't had a chance this spring/summer to wet a line due to work. You've just given me added incentive. I've been told that one of the groups of claims that I'll be working this fall contains world classed Speck fishing. NOM NOM NOM.

I really like this video because I have never known how to filet a fish. Do you think once you know how to filet a trout, you could filet almost any fish?

There are slight modifications to the technique depending on the fish. I have a few videos on filleting other fish that you might want to check out. Bass, Catfish, carp.....

    What about the pin bones?

I've never come across any bones with this method. (unless I simply miss one during the slicing out part..... which is rare)
