  • On a rather overcast spring morning diesel Locomotives 47643 & 37703 (masquerading as 37067) were preparing to depart from the Bo'ness signal box when my morning was made much brighter when invited to join the 47643 locomotive crew on a cab ride trip up line to Manuel Junction near ,Whitecross, Falkirk, to bring back Luxury train the Belmond Royal Scotsman which had arrived late the previous evening .I would also like to thank the Bo'ness Diesel group crew Lindsay,Ross and Lewis for both of my cab rides on locos 47643 uphill & 37703 down hill and giving me the opportunity to film the journey from Bo'ness to Manuel and back.

    Great video. Do any of the train lines use the knuckle couplers in the UK ( like the U.S.) or do they all use the bumber and chain hook up? Thanks. Art

    If they ever derail along there those houses could get flattened by cars rolling down the embankment.

      Capt Gary
      Oh wow! I thought the very same thing! All I could think of was that runaway Southern Pacific that left the tracks in San Bernardino, CA. I said to myself "I'd never live in any houses that close to railroad tracks" and I'm a railroad fanatic too.

      The houses close to track are very common in the UK.

    Why was the engine alone so slow. Why two engines? Why so slow as a train (Engine and cars)? Great video, very impressive! Thank you!

      Private line speed restricted, it was collecting the other engine off the mainline.

      The British may have given Railways to the world, but then doggedly stopped doing anything more, including new or better ways of doing things. Certainly styling and good looks got left far behind. The UK has what must be the ugliest locomotives in the world.

    • @Seb7535_pafc
      @Seb7535_pafc 3 года назад

      Its the single line token. Used here to operate the groundframe. By having that they have authority to enter that section and no other train can until the staff is returned to the signal box.
