Totally agree with you. Wireless machines are more of an all rounder, I can't seem to line properly with them, but they're great for color packing and shading. I own 2 Dan kubins for lining, and I can work so much quicker and with less effort.
I ran out and got a pen because my coils springs where getting inconsistent, didn’t like setting up 3 coils, so dispite my disinterest in dildo pen style machines I got one. And it sucks I actually like it…like being wireless, changing cartridges. Once I can do that with my coils I’ll go back to coils, they just feel better.
Oh for sure I’ve seen the adapter on Amazon for like 8 bucks and and rca battery that’s small enough not to look all jankie is about 60$ plus you have to get the grip that is cartridge capable….another 40-60$ But I’ve heard that the needle bar you need isn’t all that healthy for the spring tension and spring life, because it’s pushing a heavier needle bar and added resistance of the cartrage itself. So idk it’s all good stuff…I like convenience of carts but I love everything about coils it’s like muscle car vs electric car, they both can go fast but American muscle just looks cooler
Have just ordered a custom coil machine from the best builder we have over here in NZ. Going back to coils is going to be very interesting! I find my Inkjecta perfect for black and grey, colour, and lines up to 9rl but looking forward to seeing how my coil goes with the 9rl-18rl. Cheers for all the awesome vids bro!
@ I have never had a motor go bad and the vast majority of people saying they’re having motor problems don’t realize that it’s not the motor. It’s the impact screw needing to be reset. That takes 2 seconds to turn it in. Which is a problem that’s been fixed with all the current models.
You’re totally right bro. The Rotary especially the Pens are really great with battery and all but for example for an Irezumi or American Traditional only the coils can do the job right. Effortless solid bulletproof lining!!!
Recently got a flux max and went down the rabbit hole of finding which cartridges line/feel like needle on bar the most. Finally got comfortable with it but always miss needle on bar but everytime I set one up, halfway through I end up with the flux back in my hand
Just started wit the vladblad air..liner and shader. Wich voltage you recommend? I do 6.5 now and feels good. But i am curious at yours... (I know its personally and comes wit handspeed) I am only tatooing for almost a year. I love your videos ❤
Yeah I honestly wasn’t sure what to call either of them lol I was pretty sure everyone has called them hybrid because of the A-bar .. but I could be wrong lol
At the end of the day, people are always searching for the most convenient way, but nothing beats coils still! The DK is a coil on steroids, and I really love it, but all rotary machines are very abrasive to human skin.
I agree. I think the thing is the convenience often sacrifices function unfortunately. Rotary for sure have a huge part in my tattooing set up but I like using the best tools for the job whatever kind of machine it may be

Agreed. DK for solid lining and wireless pens for everything else.
For sure ! When you have the right machines for the job things just work better

You can use a coil machine with a battery but it take an rca adapter that you attach to your coil machine might get 5 hours out of it

Great one again sir. Was considering upgrading to Vlad and now I know which exactly to get. Thank you immensely
Thanks.. Glad to help!

That’s exciting ! It makes tattooing more exciting trying different tools!
DKs are amazing. Once you figure them out they’re unbeatable.
They have the cheapest motor mabuchi f 180 2 dollars

@dutchvv im not saying that you have motor problem i say machine is cheap build and not worth the price everyone is buying
Yeah it takes a bit of messing with to get it .. I’m excited to learn more

Absolutely!
Can you use the VB Fine Liner with a single needle or a 3RL25?
I haven’t used it with a single needle before but I’m sure you can.
I love those vlad bads I want some for bad.

I go through times like that where I’m just stuck on one machine.
How is the vlad blad avenger 2 for lining Compared to the coils or rotary?
I would prefer coils over it for lining but then it’s better than a pen machine for lining in my opinion
Do you think it's possible to still run the Vlad infinite liner with a 7 or is that too thin?
You could for sure. Just would run it at a lower voltage. It’s kind of over kill for a 7 tho
@ ok I figured it's just a needle grouping I run a lot so I wanted to see if it was possible that's all

I love your videos ❤
I’ve been using the VB liners at around 8 but it’s better to start low and turn up according to your style of tattoo and what needles you are using
Off course! Sorry Traditional. I am lining mostly with a 9 rl details with 5 rl
Shading 9 mag.
The avenger is marketed as being a hybrid but the mechanism is more like a typical rotary when compared to a dk sidewinder 😅

I find a lot of rotaries cause much less trauma to the skin especially the critical torque.
DK V3R for single pass solid lines.
Could I love so much I have used rotary’s just not a fan of them personally
Not for everyone for sure!
