Hello from San Bernardino California. Saw your bird fly over the night sky about 20 minutes ago. For a minute I thought it was a comet but then I saw the vapor trail and it's deliberate and controlled flight. Took me a moment to put 2 and 2 together because I haven't seen any rocket launches in a while.
At 4:40 this morning on the 31st of August I watched the satellite train go by from this launch over Central Minnesota it was spectacular especially with the crescent Moon
Nice show as usual🙂, mthx. I still think there is nothing wrong with the Merlin’s. I guess something went wrong with the flight control system and to guess further with a sensor which were at least partially blocked during entry burn or during landing burn by fume, which now sticke(d) to the sensors and so messed up the measurements for the flight control system.
I disagree. The failure was due to a landing leg collapse. The booster landed a little fast, but other boosters have landed faster with no problems. It was simply a mechanical failure.
@@kokomo9764 The leg DID collapse, but there was also a problem with engine shut-down and lots of fire spurting out that doesn't happen normally which could have torched the leg. Hopefully SpaceX will release the whole story once they've determined the cause.
@@kokomo9764 Looking at where it broken and the slow-mo I've seen so far, I think it's similar to why they are strengthening the welds on the chopsticks. When we saw the landing you could see the middle of the landing legs flex back and forth, and the one that broke did so in the middle. Think if it like a straw. It's great in tension (as the legs are when landed) but if bent it will break far more easily. Here the dynamics are doing the bending. With the slap tests, that's the same on the chopsticks. The momentum of of the mid section of each tube will be sufficient to have it bounce in and out. How interesting for this failure to happen just as they're fixing the same failure mode on the chopsticks!
Has anybody looked at the pre launch venting near liftoff time something did not seem right with a stream that looked like liquid coming off the booster (oxygen I presume)? Did not seem normal or at least different.
i don't watch your channel anymore for the live broadcast because you don't hear the SpaceX official commentary after the launch. You've got a great channel otherwise...it's a shame.
Thanks again for another awesome Falcon 9 Starlink launch NSF!!
1:13:08 Thank you for replaying that resonance squeal from the building
Yes, first landing in a row.... That suddenly sounds weird hahaha 😂
Hopefully this avoids any nonsense launch stop since the landing still clearly works.
Elon is not one to panic!
The launches were already stopped, and cleared to go again by the FAA
Sweet, great landing.

Now this is how a professional Space company does their launch.

That VAB squeal was exceptionally loud this time.
Great stream thanks NSF team.
Hi Sawyer good evening there and good morning here. Good luck every all. ❤
Thanks for the stream NSF! I'm gonna get a membership as soon as I can.
I just happen to wake up and see the rocket ascending out my bedroom window. Lucky me. This is the second time this has happened to me.
That was a quick investigation^^
The Leg broke on landing it's as simple as.
Not much to investigate
The investigation is not complete, but a plan is in place to protect public safety and continue launches while it is ongoing. - Das
Booster landings exciting again? I didn't watch anymore, lately.
Thanks Nerds :)

@@recoilrob324has SpaceX published anything or are you going off of a few seconds of video with some trivial telemetry?

Let's goooooo SpaceX 👍

We’re going back
to the Moon❤
Wonderful Great. Yes ❤
Landings since last mishap: 1

We're so back
Les go no boom!

😎🆒!!!?
Where did this launch from?? I'm in California and saw something in the sky right now around 2am
There was 1 from California and 1 from Florida
