About THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY Season 3:
After putting a stop to 1963’s doomsday, the Umbrella Academy return home to the present, convinced they prevented the initial apocalypse and fixed this godforsaken timeline once and for all. But after a brief moment of celebration, they realize things aren’t exactly (okay, not at all) how they left them. Enter the Sparrow Academy. Smart, stylish, and about as warm as a sea of icebergs, the Sparrows immediately clash with the Umbrellas in a violent face-off that turns out to be the least of everyone’s concerns. Navigating challenges, losses, and surprises of their own - and dealing with an unidentified destructive entity wreaking havoc in the Universe (something they may have caused) - now all they need to do is convince Dad’s new and possibly better family to help them put right what their arrival made wrong. Anyone notices how they were 40+ pregnant women in the first season and there were only 16 pregnant women in the 3rd season. Suggesting that Harlan might have actually killed more than 6 mothers
yeah, actually when Vanya/Viktor talked to Harlan about that incident, he(Viktor) mentioned that he(Harlan) had unintentionally killed 27 women that day. I don't really remember the specific episode or any timestamp but I swear this really happened in the series.
The journal, from the friend of Klaus's mother, had a news paper clipping saying "27 dead women" so yk, 27+16 does equal 43
The question I’ve been asking myself for the longest time is why 27 how was he able to kill the 27 mothers when he’s connected to the kids of only 6?

I saw in a an interview that David actually improved those lines they weren't in the original script, so it could have been David's own foreshadowing for his character or just an incredibly funny coincidence.
Reginald says to Luther how he'll make sure he looks after Sloane, I feel like he's made her his daughter in this universe.

When Five is at the headquarters looking for how to solve the kugoblitz, you can see him start to show signs of being near another version of himself only to find an old version of him in the bunker
Yeah dude..if that bunker is paradox proof then why was younger five was getting psychosis outside the bunker..maybe there was yet another version of five present there.

@@preach9 that wouldn't explain the phenomenon happening between one shielded and one not. The shielded individual shouldn't produce the effects for the non shielded because he isn't reacting with him. Think two compounds in a glass but one is in a second glass inside the larger one.

They established that the effect happens because of proximity and yet say that the bunker isolates those within from the anything happening outside.
So logically that would mean it isolates the people outside from anything inside as well.
They never state that it is outside of the laws of physics paranormal or otherwise which would also leave the interaction as a: how the hell?
Now if this was achieved via some sort of supernatural signal or whatever which the walls contain it would also make sense for it to not occur inside the bunker even when both copies of an individual are inside.
Meaning it isn't the room itself but something inside of it which is blocking certain phenomena from occurring. Still doesn't explain why he would be affected by an interaction with a copy inside the room while outside...
It's probably just not well thought out writing to give people a clue that they were about to meet a time clone.
Okay so the Footloose dance off has more hints and foreshadowing, we can see Viktor and Marcus dance together hinting towards their scene in the café, Allison and Alphonso - Hinting towards their face off in the actual fight, also the same with Jayme and Five :)

Actually, in the 2nd episode of season 3, at the beginning there’s a newspaper that says that reginald actually opened the hotel so when it was revealed he did build it later on, it wasn’t really a surprise to me
House of The Rising Sun plays twice in episode 4, and I thought it was pretty cool that they made the connection between the almost timeless existence of both the Rising Sun and the Hotel Oblivion. Whereas the Rising Sun can be a metaphor for the place you go to (or rather that shows up) once you give into the darkness within you or are at least tempted to, Hotel Oblivion similarly is a place where one isn't discriminated against no matter what their story is. They are both gateways to other worlds, both being this sort of liminal space where you either face your demons or you embrace them. Both times the song plays it's concerning Harlan's own struggles and the chain of events that caused the Kugelblitz, but we can see it parallels almost every other character's arc this season. It's like the physical and allegorical dimensions of these places are one and the same. We know the song choices are on purpose, too, so I think in a way this is an "aha" moment from the writers to see if we'd catch up to them being smartasses. I did!
Also, Klaus could easily travel between the pocket dimension inside Hotel Oblivion and this show's version of the afterlife. Both he and Luther were able to exist in the afterlife even though they never even existed in the Kugelblitz timeline. Plus, Klaus could see an entire life that never even happened. This implies that both the afterlife and the Hotel Oblivion exist outside of space and time and the laws of (meta? quantum?) physics and therefore time itself don't apply to those places.
I absolutely love that they gave Christopher NO meaninful explanation on what he is or how he works, they just SHOW us.
I really love this show, it is so good. I hated Allison this last season though😭 but I understand she is portraying her grief / anger through her actions. She has gotten too attached in each timeline..
I don’t think they will ever fix or get back to their original timeline. I would assume at this point is damn near impossible because each time they try they change something.
I do think we will finally get clarity on how number 7 begins the commission. It’s so hard to predict what’s going to happen because they can go in so many different routes!! I’m so excited guys!

I’m really surprised no one is mentioning Reggie didn’t finish the 7th “bell” or square wasn’t lit up when Allison hit the reset I wonder what implications this will have
That’s what I thought I feel like it’s going to be a conflict for Luther to confront reg about it that he’ll blame reg for not completing it so that Sloan wasn’t transferred to the universe but when he confronts reg about it that reg will turn around and be like well I was interrupted by Allison so it’s acc her fault and then it will cause Luther to have conflict with Allison
I didn’t see that but maybe that explains why Sloane isn’t in the universe. I assume they went to a universe where they don’t have powers because Reginald never needed to have powerful children because he got his wife back and they can all live normal lives except it’s the original timeline without the sparrows except Ben is there bc he was originally part of the umbrellas. Or maybe the Ben on the bus is the original since if they theoretically never had powers in this universe then Ben should’ve never died and Sloane is only gone because of the squares like you said. So maybe the Jennifer incident was Ben falling in love with a villain and her turning her back on him and killing him while sparrow Ben fell in love but realized she was a villain and a traitor from the start and killed her despite falling in love. Then maybe that’s why he has the scar because they fought each other.
@@ahcwolves4305 actually the squares took too much from the kids resulting in them losing their powers if you ask me. He needed their power to power up the 7 bells. So if their power is what generated it. It would make sense why they don’t have their powers
@@mulantheboss but Klaus didnt have his tattoos in the new universe either as if he never had powers and was never adopted and was never an umbrella and never had that childhood trauma or the reason to get the tattoos in the first place. Same with Luther no longer having the monkey body.

He has to peak the sparrows in the new timeline to get the team to use their powers to their fullest to beat the guardians and get their powers to power up the restart. Now reggie is alive with his wife and even richer than ever. And if things did reset when Alison hit the button it explains everything. They reset everything. Making them human and a world where Reggie ran everything. Remember he told five he’s seen the world end in ways he could t possible imagine
for me, the hotel maze with the different guardians that can be killed with a stab in the back reminds me a lot of the legend of zelda phantom hourglass
Christopher the Cube and Ken Hall (The actor who plays Herb) is an easter egg relating to People of Earth, where Ken Hall plays an alien named Jeff who's boss is a cube. The other easter egg is how Robert Sheehan (Klaus) was an immortal in his first superhero tv show called "The Misfits" and there was even an homage to him as he falls backwards off of a building which is how Robert Sheehan died the first time in The Misfits.
What was also a cool easter egg was when Luther gives his watch to Julian Richings who played Death in Supernatural, which until later on in the show did give a foreshadowing that his time was going to be up and death would claim him in this timeline until the reset happened.
Totally unrelated to the show but your comment reminded me of when my grandpa told me he had a dream where a clockmaker told my grandpa that his watch would stop working a specific amount of time (I was 7 at the time so I don’t really remember the exact days/weeks, it was oddly specific). It sounded ominous and I didn’t think much of it then. He ended up dying more or less exactly after that time. I’m not religious or spiritual (well, agnostic so I can’t deny what I don’t know) but to this day I still often wonder if our bodies are able to tell ahead of time or if there could perhaps be a sth else out there. Anyway, sorry for going off under your comment, just found it interesting how sth similar happened to my family.

One thing missed was how often the final "rune" placement was throughout the season (the "stars" they had to stand on/the map tattoo on 5). A lot of the background designs had the same placement pattern, easily seen on the passage door in the Buffalo room. But it was everywhere!
Another thing of note that fully supports the Televator (which I did not know of- I know nothing of the comics), is that at the end Hargreeves acknowledges WHY he put Luther on the moon in the original timeline. It was easy to kinda miss (as in, how did he know?), due to opening scene of the episode and the stress of the situation. But no one knew why Luther was up there (iirc), and led me to believe he was a trans-dimensional being. The Televator is the piece I was missing!

@@weorhtleas4592 Oh, yea you're right about that- I'm referring to how and why this season's Hargreeves would even know about Abigail being on the moon in the first place.
Luther never knew why he was up there, so even if he told Hargreeves about being on the moon, there's no way anyone would know about Abigail (since it was a different timeline with a different Hargreeves). Unless something like the Televator exists off-camera (to be mentioned in the next season).
How he knew about the other timeline's secret moon mission really stuck out to me lol

Theory For Sloane: I think the televator thing you're mentioning gets invented by Five next season and Luther uses it alone to go back at Oblivion ( He uses it alone to avoid paradox psychosis cuz he was dead at the time Reg was sucking other souls for resetting the universe therefore no one other than him can be present in both timelines) and brings back Sloane to the timeline where the universe was reset. That's why when they all arrived on an elevator, Sloane wasn't with them cuz she and Luther were already at the place where the televator was. As of Doppelgangers, I think that's what is supposed to happen next season.

The characters which appeared together on the former grounds of the Hotel Oblivion were the original members of the UA. So Sloane still exists in the world, similarly depowered.

Did anyone else notice the slight nod to Klaus and Sparrow Ben hooking up at wedding? Klaus mentioned seeing the inside of Bens kimono and then at some point later on (i forgot who) some asks Five “wait did Ben hook up with someone?” implying he did hook up someone (Klaus!) Plus Klaus did say he would have sex with himself if got the chance in the first episode so it wouldn’t surprise me if would hook up with an alternate dimension Ben. Plus Ben was really really intoxicated 👀

"Paradoxes break robots" is a popular trope. UA's version is a bit subversive though, rather than have the robots head explode as is common place, they had her go full religious acolyte.

That's because the Hotel teleported 5 up two floors after the bell got rung. It was splitting everyone up for the guards to pick off the team, Same with Viktor and Alison when exiting the bathhouse(I think that was what that room was?) leading Viktor to find and help Lila.
I would think the umbrellas would be aware of Christopher in their time line. Women spontaneously gives birth to magical sentient floating cube I'm sure people wouldn't forget about that.

I think you missed another movie reference relating to the dance sequence. It made me think of the dance sequence in "the Rocky Horror Picture Show" Another movie about a time warping alien on Earth and the whole cast dancing together to an original song called "Let's do the time warp again."

Ok there was an Easter Egg that I found that references The Shining. There’s a scene in the hotel that shows a newspaper article framed about the Grand Opening of the Hotel with Reginald Hargreeves front and center in the photo. Definitely reminded me of The Shining. Lol I can’t remember what episode it was but I can’t be the only person who caught that.
The wallpapers were also the same pattern. There were some references to The Shining that I definitely picked up.

Do you think there's a possibility that she's the person responsible for the death of the original Ben from TUA (known as "The Horror" in the graphic Novel). If Harlan never made a connection with Ben in Season 2 (since he was dead), he wouldn't have killed his mother when he accidentally killed the living siblings mothers. That makes it possible that Ben WAS born and is now alive as a double (seen in the after-credits scene). Sparrow Academy's "Ben" appears to be obsessed with "Jennifer" (shadows of traumatic memories from his life and death in a different timeline?) and I'm thinking she could pop up in Season 4 in Ben's storyline if he's actually alive.. again. 🤔
Harlan have killed 27 "mothers" - not only mothers of 6 umbrellas and Ben (sparrow one) was born, so his mother wasn't killed. After credits Ben is different Ben - they all are in new timeline

I finally binged this and am curious how much time is expected to spend on all this? If wanted to get the complete (up to date) comic series what is the cheapest way? Are they going to keep adding seasons as they go? Depending on how long this runs? Will the next series be the script of current season? When or are they going to be Collectables? Are there copyright’s on tattoos? This is all hard to understand.😳

@@randalllaue4042 ok so the comic is only 3 volumes totaling 19 chapters. Also the person who made the comic in July of 2020 said there will be a 4th comic called “the umbrella academy sparrow academy “ but I don’t know if it been released yet

I have a theory on why sloane was missing. Remember the machine of the universe? Notice the squares representing the sigils, AKA the seven of them? One of them isn't glowing like the others. So that only makes 6 glowing squares meaning maybe only 6 will be able to make it through once the dimension is reseted. Maybe Sloane was left out because her sigil wasn't lighting up.

Why was Ben's look so different on the ending of season 2 and start of season 3? Is it because you can hardly recognize it was Ben??
The reason for this is because they didn't end up liking the hairpiece for the actor's bangs, it was a pain in the butt I guess so they decided despite the continuity error they wanted to change his hairstyle so it would be easier to deal with when filming. I forget exactly where I saw this but it was in an interview when I googled about it because I noticed that too lol

Well, whomever Jennifer is, she simply exists in both timelines just like a lot of other ppl do.
I think "Subway" Ben is possibly Ben 1 and Ben 2 after they "rejoined" to become one.
And that he has memories/knowledge of both timelines which includes things Ben 1 would have learned in Heaven so he possibly has a plan and a mission.
