So pumped to know you are going with Born and Raised! Such a great group of guys sharing information! The passion they have is incredible! Looking forward to the episodes!
I hope you and your misses havent given up LLF channel. We still love ya guys. I cant imagine how frustrating no comments are. But please dont let them control your lives. We need that content to strengthen good-worth. Please teach us how to be better humans.
Justin, I'm elated that you've hooked up with the guys from Born and Raised Outdoors. They are a group of fine Christian men, and you are so deserving of a hunt with them. Your channel and theirs still remain wholesome, in that I can enjoy them with my 5 year old grandson, who already dreams of hunting with his dad... an avid waterfowler. Some of my favorite channels are on a downward spiral, that I can't watch them with my grandson anymore. Best luck this season. With Trent, Trevor, and the rest of the crew... I know this year, the big brown, will be down!!!
Completely agree with the post above! May I suggest maybe checking out my channel as well? I think your grandson, your son, and you as well would enjoy my content a lot. All hunting, fishing, and cooking to inspire others to get out and enjoy what our Lord has provided for us. I just started about 3 months ago and have a long way to grow on my channel. The BRO guys and LFG are part of the reason I started my channel.
@@NewDivideOutdoors ... I will definitely check out your channel. I recently ran across Vander Baan's Wild Life channel. Very family oriented around salt water fishing. Always looking for great hunting and fishing content.
The BRO crew is legit. Please don't take them where you went last year though lol. That's where I've been going for years and don't want the elk herd killed off by born and raised! Good luck
I have an exo 4800 and I absolutely love it for the backcountry here in Idaho!! I like how they use hardcore backcountry hunters to give input for how they can make it better.
Nice kit. Be careful with your sawyer filter if your out in freezing temperatures. Believe me you do not want to leave it out where it will freeze. If the filter freezes it is useless so make sure you keep it on your person wrapped in something that way your body heat helps to keep it from freezing. I keep mine wrapped up in my wool socks when I’m not using it and it goes in my sleeping bag with me at night where it stays nice and toasty. Also it would be a good idea to keep some water purification tablets as a back up as well. Over the years I have put things in my kit that have multiple uses. Having a kit like that goes a long way, especially if you find yourself in an emergency situation.
I watched your post brain surgery videos last night. It was painful to see you go thru that. So glad to see how far you and your family have come since then. It's awesome you've recovered and been so successful.
I recommend a hammock and straps. Weighs a pound or 2 set that sucker up and relax while your waiting for the food to cook or for you buddies to finish using the tp
Make sure that Sawyer does not freeze because they will when it get below 32. They tend to crack and you won't be getting filtered water. Keep it close to your body so it doesn't freeze. Trust me found out the hard way on a 20 mile in elk hunt and ended up with giardiasis.
Idk if I just missed it in the video or not but you should probably bring a few extra tapered leaders and tippet for your fly setup. You’re bound to bust a couple leaders and they weigh absolutely nothing. Go to some store and pick up a handful of 4x or 5x nylon leaders and maybe a spool of 4x or 5x fluorocarbon tippet to tie on to the end of the tapered leader to replace the thin section of it that you use up as you tie on new flies. You’ll thank me later if you do
Justin, see if you can find a western renegade fly, fish it on a casting bubble, I've used them for years,if it swims they will bite it,take it from an ol Colorado hand you can't go wrong... Best of luck,CHESTER👍🏻👍🏻
LOVE LOVE LOVE the new pack! I wish they had a wildlife photography pack just like that. also, can't wait till you start having your hunting videos. be safe my friend.
Good luck Mr. Dangle! Gear is looking lighter and more dialed in this year. Last year was my first ever elk hunt with little luck. I have a good feeling about your chances with the Born and Raised crew. Peace!
You're in great hand with the BRO guys! I'm glad they got you outfitted with a much better pack, EXO is the best there is fact. All I use on all my backcountry backpack hunting and fishing trips. Good luck my fellow Texan, and remember, western hunting is much different than hunting in Texas. It takes patience and failure to learn and get better but you'll have a blast!
LFG - "I really like drawing in this jacket" 6:21 Myself - "Why does someone have a jacket to draw pictures in?" Then I realized he meant draw back his bow and chuckled at my dumb self. Wake n' bake hittin' hard this morning lmao
You gotta try lifting the back over your head to put it on, instead of slinging around from one shoulder to the other. It’ll save your back! Put the pack in front of you with the straps facing up, top of pack directly in front of you/ bottom on the far end. Grab the sides with your hands inside the shoulder straps and lift it up and over your head. Let it slowly slide down onto your shoulders.
I love driving up 287 from the DFW area, especially in summer. I went to New Mexico last year in mid July. It was hot and muggy down here, but as soon as I got up past Amarillo and crossed the New Mexico line the air is so much dryer and that altitude makes all the difference in the world. Basically the same temperature, but it felt 20 degrees cooler. Makes me wonder why I torutre myself with Texas summers. If the cost of living wasn't so affordable and no state income tas (plus family) I would definitely move to Colorado or Utah.
Colorado is definitely the furthest thing from affordable anymore. I'm considering moving south but I've lived here my hole life so it's difficult to leave.
@@amorton94 I lived in Utah for 3 yrs while in the Air Force. I love it out there. So many different places for outdoor activities. Don't get me wrong... I love Texas.. born here, lived the better part of my childhood here, most of my family is here. There's just no mountains aside from way out west, and the beaches are not that great. It's still affordable, no state income tax, very conservative government. It's just the fact that the summers suck, and you don't have 4 distinct seasons. Spring thunderstorms can be nightmarish if tornados start spinning up. If it wasn't for the job opportunities and stable economy I don't think I would still be here.
Exciting! Fall is coming! You can trick out that filter with a hose filter gasket of you're dealing with particulate clogging it. The stock gasket is a bit of a weak point, easy to over tighten. I like to put a smart water sport cap on it as well, it's a little nicer to drink from than the stock cap. Tight lines! Hey you're allergic to pb like me? Ever tried Wow Butter? It might be a Canadian thing. I live off that stuff when I'm out there.
Congrats on the hunt with the bro guys. Been watching them on youtube since their 1.0 season. I know this is probably too late, but unless i missed it, I DIDNT SEE ANY GAME BAGS in the pack!!! I was surprised that you were only at 32 pounds in the bag though Need game bags and some cordage to hang quarters bud!!! Also....did you mention a battery charger and cord for your electronics? Good luck. Its been hot here in texas for sure! West texas here.
I just thought of something. Always try remember, the back pack size in litres. I am guessing you would get extra brownie points, for the manufacturer. ;-)
Cool stuff. Just got done watching The Hunting Public with Born and Raised doing an elk hunt last year. Can’t wait to watch your elk hunt! On a different note, just unsubscribed from Lunkers. He’s a great fisherman, but I will try to say this nicely - he’s a mess and all over the place. Best of luck on your trip. Be safe.
It’s probably too late but be careful those sawyer water pouches will get holes and leak quick. Just got back from a 7 day Utah elk hunt and both of them were about destroyed by the time I was done. Was patching them all over with gorilla tape as I could lol.
sman7290 I think that’s the bench made born and raised helped design. And that’s the h2o set up they use! But lfg has the Gucci camo! I wish I could afford that stuff!
Make sure you prime that filter. Run a couple gallons of water through before you go And don’t put that in your checked luggage if they freeze there damaged
Y'all have some of the best videos out there man. You'll have some of the best fishing products on the market when hunting season comes around you'll might want to start thinking about doing some hunting products like your own line of camo that would be great. I know is being a hunter myself I would be looking into something like that cause I really support you guys. Justin you in the guys keep up the great work and Godbless
This is probably one of the best youtubers
Amen
Forget "probably".
Yes been a "fishing freak" for a while now and have to say LFG is one of the best!

Sawyer filters are awesome, super cheap, compact, straightforward, and tons of filtration.
