    Have been running Ravine as a half droop LCG rig with a few super simple mods. Changed 6.5 KG servos for 25 KG metal case / all metal gear train servos. Fitted steel steering rods with alloy ball joint ends. Made my own high clearance lower arms from stainless steel drinking straws, removed lower section of chassis and moved receiver/ESC to between rear shock mounts. Added 15mm hex extenders to run wheels with different offsets. Ended up with original beadlosck wheels and Kanyon tyres with extra sipes cut is and custom foams. Shocks mounted in lowest, farthest inboard position and using matched set of elasticated hair bands to run about half droop. I also added diode switched resistances to both motor power feeds for better low speed control with switches to adjust front overdrive. Happily ascends 65 degree slopes and handles trailing through local forest with ease. Quite fancy the mauler too as I'm pretty sure it would not take much to make it into a very capable crawler. Keep on doin what you do and having fun making the videos. CHEERS !

    I like Mauler more.....it has a low cg and I just love the platform I have a Rock Hammer same thing made into a belly dragger, and its a very modifiable platform. Ravine crawls well for sure. The 4 wheel steer looks nice!!!
    Great job!!! Have great holidays!!!

    i guess the ravine won bc its a lot more mobile. i like the mauler more in terms of price/performance out of the box (ravine absolutely needs tyre upgrade before considering anything) but the turning circle is bad af

    • @009ADVENTURES
      @009ADVENTURES  Месяц назад

      yes it probably did on this one, tbh they are both just as good as each other at different things but definitely agree the ravine does need tyres so that puts it at mauler price . don't think I could choose one or the other but ravine with some simple mods and it's rear steer is awesome, but so is the mauler 🤣 cheers 👍🐿

      @@009ADVENTURES where i live the ravine is 140 bucks and the mauler is 240 bucks. a good set of tyres for the ravine can cost 80 bucks so yes, you are quite close with your opinion, however the samr goes for the mauler. its stock tyres arent as bad as the ravines, but still a weakpoint.
      im a fan of the ravine as a beginner vehicle and its ability to eat up a ridiculous amount of punishment makes it a great toy for children and adults alike (i own 4 of them). im still undecided if i really need a mauler when i got 2 TRX4 allready, but the mauler could easily use the same wheels i allready have on the ravines.

    @semperatis 2 года назад +2

    That's not an easy thing to judge Marc,as each rig had certain advantages over the other, though from a cost point of view, the Ravine wins it. Having said that, the Mauler has the extra power & wheel speed that the Ravine just doesn't have. From a points view,the Ravine won, with one post hit,vs the Mauler with one post hit and a hand of God.

    • @009ADVENTURES
      @009ADVENTURES  2 года назад +1

      yes David I couldn't choose which was best tbh, they both have things they are better at but both do OK. I love them both but if we are going on price the ravine takes the bonus points 😃👍🐿

      yes I think the mauler would would win if no 4ws was used but it comes with it so had to use it 😉 🐿👍

    Ffs give us an opinion,

    • @009ADVENTURES
      @009ADVENTURES  3 месяца назад +1

      these are both great, what the ravine lacks in weight and power it makes up for with the rear steer and tbh there isn't much in the two. I will say the mauler is more upgradable and better quality

      @009ADVENTURES awesome! You should have said this in the video! There's nothing worse than someone having the tools to compare and then not having the balls to make a conclusion or opinion. Bravo! Sir and thanks for the insight!
