      With this kind of statistics, I think a much more meaningful way to put it in perspective is to look at what would be the ranking of the women's record within the men's performances.
      For example, the 100m record of 10.49 is ranked 6350, meaning that 6349 men have gone faster than that.
      If you take only this year's performances, it has been beaten by 799 men.

    You can't argue with Biology no matter how much equality we push for. Testosterone gives men that advantage since we produce more than women, we have greater muscle mass and bone density compared to females. That's why athletes who transition from male to female have to medicate to keep Testosterone levels down when competing in female sports but it's still the same because those athletes still dominate despite the medication because their muscles and bones have developed fully male characteristics which is still unfairly advantageous to them.

      Also even among average men, men are more likely to be physical active as boys and do some heavy lifting. Women can also do heavy lifting (sure men can lift heavier stuff). Depending on a women weight. For dead lift an untrained 97lb can deadlift about 55lb. Idk about carrying, but I say untrained women who weighed about 137lbs can carry more then a women who weighs 95. If both male and female at a young age were physically active on equal levels, women also did some heavy lifting*, were train to be just as competitive and did maul labor jobs, men will still be stronger, but 15-30% stronger in upper.
      *still can’t deny biology. Depending on how much a woman weights and whatever she is small, medium or large is how much she can carry. Just typing in how much can a women carry on google image shows you a charter.

Besides usually men are in worse shape than women because women need to be thin to fit beuty standards, men aren't pushed as much so they can afford being chubby (not that being slim makes you stronger, in fact an overweight person will probably lift more but i think that the average dude isn't into fitness like people believe, lf course gym bros will think men are the shit but most guys will be out of breath with a sprint)

      @Alfie Green There should be no gender split?
      It is not a fraction! There are more than 10% difference in records in nearly all of the categories! When you look at the record, you don't just look at the absolute value. You gotta look at the percentage difference! There is clearly an immense physical difference between men and women.

    • @korggg123
      @korggg123 3 года назад +4

      @Alfie Green For 100m dash (Olympic record), it's early-3% difference between the world men record and the Asian men record and near 14% difference between men and women records - more than 10% difference which is astronomical.
      Moreover, It's not about the absolute distance between the records. Instead, you need to see the mean and variance of each gender group to gauge their distributions. While the Asian group's mean, though lower than the overall mean, still fall closely around the overall mean, while the women's average is so much more distant from the overall mean in terms of standard deviation... to the point it's not even a competition.
      Most importantly, women are biologically different from men, and women's physical capabilities are limited in many aspects including strength.
      While the difference Asians and blacks are mostly around muscle and skeletal development (impacted by thousands of years of eating habits and environmental differences), women have fundamentally different body organs form men.
      Should we still combine men and women? Well, it's up to the athletic committees. If they want to ignore biology and push for 'equality', well then it's their choice. But I can guarantee that the world won't see any woman (without genetic mutation or steroids) winning 1st place against men side by side for centuries or even millennia to come.

    • @korggg123
      @korggg123 3 года назад +4

      @Alfie Green Again, you need to take into account the standard deviation, not just the absolute percentage difference. Let's take a look at 2016 (the most recent olympics) 100m men's dash. The records during the prelim and round 1 tend to underestimate the player's true skills - as the best players don't exert their fullest abilities (for instance, Bolt's record was 10.07 during the round 1) - so I excluded those records. I only counted the ones from semi-finals and finals. There were total of 22 samples - you may argue that that is not enough to assume normal distribution but it was the best sample I could easily retrieve. The average of those 22 samples was 10.0436 with standard deviation of 0.10261. Meanwhile, the best women's record, NOT the average(!), was only 10.49 (more than 4 S.D!). It's nowhere close to the men's average from the standard deviation perspective. The best record for the Chinese in 2016 Olympics was 10.08 - which easily falls under 1 S.D of men's average record. So statistically speaking, there is an astronomical difference between men and women.
      Having said that... besides the statistical argument, the more compelling argument for gender separation would be their physical differences - whether that be body shape or hormones. For instance, despite the sports bra, women still have to run with extra pounds on their chest - which may impact their performances significantly enough to catching up to men's record nearly impossible.
      It's up to the athletic committees to decide whether it would be fair to have men and women compete against one another side by side. But if they choose to merge 2 genders under the reason of gender equality, (according to the 2016 records) we wouldn't be seeing a single women even in the semi-finals.

The scientific papers looking into that race showed the wind was somewhere between 5 - 7 m/s using all the data from Flo-Jo herself and all the other runners in that race. The official position of the IAAF remains that the race was 'probably wind aided but still stands as the official WR' because there was a wind gauge at the event. And you can imagine the compound effect these differences play in sports that involve multiple of these different skills. For example basketball involves jumping, stamina, explosive speed and accuracy. Let’s say that there is a 20% difference between men and women’s jump, 20% in stamina, 11% in explosive speed and 10% in accuracy, that would compound to a 61% difference in basketball. Most sports would involve hundreds of these different skills that would all compound to create the skill gaps we see in sports.

      That's not how it works. Let's say a sport is made up of 10 different skills that are equally important. Every skill is 10% of your total skill at the game. If you make a 10% difference in a skill like jumping, that's only 10% of the game, so 10% of 10% gain which is 1%.

    • @sebfox2194
      @sebfox2194 2 месяца назад

      @@suckieduckie That's not how it works either though, because let's say you're playing basketball or soccer. If you're 10% slower to every ball, then you win 0% of all 50/50 balls, and only get the ball when you start off much closer to it.

    • @suckieduckie
      @suckieduckie 2 месяца назад

      @@sebfox2194 Basketball maybe, but in soccer it's just not the case because not every player needs to win aerial duels. Lionel Messi has only ever won a handfull of aerial duels and only scored a few headed goals, but he's easily the best player of all time.
      Being 10% slower to every ball is not speed, it's timing. In the Netherlands a player (Daley Blind) just retired and he was known for being very slow which is not good as a defender, but his timing was good enough to compensate.

    • @sebfox2194
      @sebfox2194 2 месяца назад

      @suckieduckie I never mentioned aerial duals. I was talking about speed. Of course, timing and positioning matter in soccer, but it's still a fact that if you're 10% slower to every 50/50 ball, then you don't win any 50/50 balls. Slower players compensate not by winning 50/50 balls but with positioning and teamwork to put themselves in an advantageous position to win the ball later. Moreover, it's not just speed. If you're 10% slower, 20% weaker in jumps and acceleration, and 20-50% weaker in strength and power, it makes a massive difference to your game. This is why elite boys aged 15+ generally beat elite women in soccer. And this is also why elite men, who still have elite skills, have to retire once their physical abilities decline to the level where they can no longer compete physically with younger players.
      Messi is athletic and has much faster acceleration and change of direction than most players. So, he is physically competitive in the men's game. However, when he is 45, he won't be playing elite men's soccer anymore, despite the fact that he'd still have elite skills, because he won't be physically competitive at that age. He'd likely still be good enough to dominate the women's game at 45, but he will have to retire from the mens game, because your athleticism and physical capabilities are indeed important in soccer.

      it is probably one of two things.
      1. The pool is so small, you don't have enough to depth really draw out the potential.
      2. It is such an extreme distance that the biological difference fades and it becomes a training difference.

    • @sebfox2194
      @sebfox2194 2 года назад +3

      Extreme flexibility is only useful in a couple of sports, like dancing, gymnastics, ice skating and martial arts. And it's not the main attribute required, since a slightly less flexible athlete who is faster and more powerful can beat a slightly more flexible athlete who is slower and less powerful. So men are flexible enough for all of these sports.
      In the vast majority of sports, speed, strength, power, and endurance are much more important than extreme flexibility. So the latter attribute is not as important in most sports, as long as you have a decent level of flexibility, which most men can obtain.

Hard labor, lifting heavy things, carrying heavy loads, it isn't for them. It just isn't. They don't have the strength, particularly the upper body strength needed for this kind of work. Men and women are different, have different strengths and weaknesses. Society needs to accept that and stop trying to create this fantasy of absolute equality.

    I think, the following comment I had somewhere else on another video today can add to the discussion.
    "I just watched part of a program on Tokyo Olympics & how it is taking big strides in gender quality, by introducing new medal winning options for women.
    But I got fed up with this nagging feminist narrative. I 🤔 if men & women are only diff. in physical aspects then why is Chess competitions not held without gender segregations. Do Feminists fear that their oppression Olympics would be proven as sham ??
    I would use the ideas detailed by many, but prominently by Jordan Peterson in recent years, to say that Male abilties in general have wider statistical distribution on most parameters, thus men are far worse & far better on most metrics.
    What I'm fed up is, feminism's grip on policy matters reducing all matters of diff gender expression to oppression & inequality debate alone, when it comes to goodies, but to toxic masculinity when it comes to rotten 🍎🍎."

      1. the paris olympics was equal in the amount of mens competitors and women's competitors for the first time.
      2. Equestrian does not separate men and women. They compete against each other as there is no physical advantage.
      3. Shooting was also combined at one point but when a woman won a shooting event at the 1992 Olympics women were straight up banned from competing for a few olympics. Talk about petty.

    Some events, like those run in the Olympics, are commonly and regularly run all over the world. Some of the events listed here are not competed as often and therefore can produce wildly different results based on one off performances. Secondly, these are comparisons of records rather than just say comparing the performances of a broad swath of elite males and females. If you take Olympic running events only in any Olympics and compare the cumulative times of the 2nd through 6th place finishers you will see a very consistent representation of the differences between men and women. Why 2nd through 6th? Well, obviously they are elite if they are in an Olympic Final. Drop the 1st time to rule out one exceptional performance that skews the results like Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988 or Usain Bolt. FloJo's 1988 record has stood for 36 years and skewed the comparison between men and women. It is also very suspect for a few reasons. Only recently did Jamaica's Elaine Thompson-Herah come relatively close to Flo-Jo. Drop the 7th and 8th place finishers because someone could pull a hammy and run 20 plus seconds in the 100 thereby skewing the results in an unrealistic fashion. Or some runner could get DQ'd and there would only be seven in the race to begin. And a runner could be well back at the 50 meter mark and just pull up off the gas. As far as that goes if the leader in the race is well ahead at 70 or 80 meters in a 100 meter race they will frequently take their foot off the gas which skews the results. Compare 2nd through 6th at an Olympic Final and you will get a true representation of the difference between men and women at the elite level. Those results tend to show something like an 11% difference at almost any distance.
