Great question! This depends on which type of mask is being worn. If using an N95, the cap goes on before the mask. This would make the order gown, mask, cap, eyes, then gloves. If a surgical mask is being used, it goes on after the cap. The order would then be gown, cap, mask, eyes, gloves.
Excellent point! Yes - if wearing an N95 or respirator, you would remove it after leaving the patients room. Ideally, you have an anteroom to use so you are not bringing it into the hallway.
Terrible unprofessional example, My class was not impressed and picked up the mistakes (ie)Constantly touching her hair and no HH in-between doffing tasks.
I was just about to say, "this is why the old way of putting up hair in a bun and tucking them inside the nursing cap just like how "Florence Nightingale" has "taught"us works! It seems okd fashioned, but those traditional nursing attire really make sense. ( Nursing Apron, Hair cover/caps , stockings ( to prevent us from varicose veins cuz we stand for prolonged period during nsg duty, and even the winged arm pockets to slip our medication cards.) 😂 I think i have given away how OLD of a Nurse I am. 😅
I love these skills videos. Thank you! Keep them coming :)
Thanks for watching!
What about hair net/ cap. That's in the nclex questions too

I saw a Nclex style question saying for Airborne precautions you remove N95 mask after leaving a patient’s room. Is that true?
yes
Yes, it's true

Absolutely! Hair should be secured away from the face.
