Yes, very poetic and may be the most important topic/heart cry I've heard come out of him. Ecclesiastes 3:11 speaks of God setting eternity in the human heart. Something in us longs for beyond this mortality and that's what Ben seems to be crying out for.....Honestly, the One that thought Him up.

So perfect. This feels like old and new death cab in all the right ways. It’s also great to know other people think the same things when looking at old photos. 😂
Yeah their whole sound and songwriting structure changed after Chris left and it was so obvious and it's taken some time but the couple of albums ever since his departure have grown on me but he is missed no doubt about it he was one of the main songwriters and he produced every album except Kintsugi which ironically was his last.
i'm glad that i can experience what it's like to have dcfc release new music while being a highschooler. after all this time you'd think the music would stop coming, but it hasn't. their music is evidently timeless and it's sweet seeing people say they listened to dcfc as kids, and are now older while new music is coming out -- and the band's music still has great meaning to them :-)

I'm not sure how they do this, despite all the music I've experienced over the years (and it's been many years now :), DCFC still makes me cry sometimes, that's a good sign
Been rocking with this band since I heard the song, "I Will Possess Your Heart." Got every song from them and this new album is rocking out like always. Keep it amped up, plugged in, and electrified you guys.
Their lyrics speak to me so specifically that it sometimes freaks me out. The music is so catchy I listen to the songs on repeat. See you in KC in Oct.
Happy to be living my lifetime at the same time as this band. Been a part of my life since 2000. Love this new one! New order mixed with aughts indie rock and lyrically encapsulates the strangeness of the times. Also, as an artist, feeling the pain of vinyl manufacturing, lol. Cheers ❤️✨
Yeah, to me this song is incredibly important in that it hits on every human's deep longing to know Truth, to be one with something eternal. To find their Maker! That pursuit is so clouded by many things but like the Truman Show if you want the truth bad enough your true heart cry begins to surface!
This group always manages to transport me, to bring me to a state of inner peace, of well-being, of joy. I am so grateful to life for putting this sound in my ears. I get chills all the time, something going through my spine. Hope to do an acoustic session with your in Paris France. We broadcast the song on our independent radio station
That's the best video. None has fun anymore. It's amazing I've seen lots of references since I came to Texas but never heard a song till it was on ACL today. Then on relistening I realized it was the same guitar as b-52s, and that's been a big theme for me lately is lost Pennsylvania fun times even when in poverty.
I woke up today thinking aww I feel like some "Death Cab for Cutie"...it's been a while since their last album dropped...I hope there is some new material. To my glee I find this song...awww this brings me to the time I first heard of these guys living overseas nearly 20 years ago. Thank you DCFC you rock!
We saw them last Friday in Grand Rapids. It was our third time seeing them and they were great as always. You could really tell that they were grateful to be on the road again.
If you told me that Death Cab would effortlessly and comedically play off months of record delays, I would not have assumed that they did it via a banger of a music video.
One of my favorite bands since their inception so many years ago mow but since Chris left their songwriting and production and pretty much whole sound have changed, not only was he one of the main songwriters he produce all their albums except "Kintsugi" which was ironically his last album with the band as well. It's taken a lot of listening to the last few albums since he left to take it in but they've grown on me, I do like them now but he is definitely missed. Hard to believe with thier new release that makes 32 albums between studio releases, live albums and EPs.
This was great to watch, time to make the records, lol! Love the lyrics because I watch Turner Classic Movies channel all the time! Love the old movie reference!💜
So cool that you paid homage to “Such Great Heights” by showing the vinyl machinery, and how it looks like the microchip factory from the Such Great Heights video!
Words cannot describe the Beaty of your music. It just mesmerisers me. And with one of the best voices in Ben & the intricate musicianship is world class. ❤
Oh I love you so much! When I hear you there is a sense of complete happiness and brings back these feelings from the past, feelings of worry free, innocence, after recovery. The feeling comes back and stays when ever I listen to you. You are simply amazing. I was the happiest when introduced to you back in 2010. And that feeling will never leave me, you bring it back with your music.
When Chris Walla left their whole sound and songwriting took a sharp turn and it wasn't so much for the better. When one of the main songwriters leaves and the guy that produced every album except his last which was Kintsugi it's going to be noticed and it has been. I mean don't get me wrong they've always been one of my favorite bands but him leaving was like a dagger in the heart and everything that's been released since then has had to grow on me, but it's still just not comparable to anything they did with him.
@@badmonkey2222 To be fair, it's not like codes and keys or kintsigi were masterpieces or walla's best work. TYFT was underwhelming but I did like a lot of the Blue EP. Those were the best days
I'm loving Ben's Jim Halpert energy in this video
"Oh, these days it's so hard to relax. You gotta hold a gun to my back to make me smile..."
an all-time relatable lyrics. i will be listening to this for the rest of my life
Es como volver en el tiempo ...es por canciones cómo está que seguimos en este extraño remolino llamado vida ....GRACIAS CHICOS!!!!
Okay this song needa hit #1 already took me like a hour to find this till I remember I saved it. I’m all typing “Now for forever” if it was blowing up you could type in 2 words from the song and it’ll come up. Thankfully I am early though to this future gem 🔥👏
Heard this live last week and can’t waaaaait to hear the studio version!!
Edit: because you’re bad at reading, I made this comment before the video had premiered.
man, i'm excited for the whole album hearing roman candles and this!
... This IS the studio version.
@FAKETAXI SRT4 this comment was posted before the video actually premiered, hence the timestamp from a day ago. #themoreyouknow
@@malcolmmorin same to you
@@malcolmmorin Timestamps are hard for you, huh?
They are still really good after all these years. Can’t say that about too many bands.
Have I just heard the most amazing song ever I'm 48 and I feel young again and this is a new song and I can't believe how good I feel this is such a great song thank you kindly thank you with love and I can't believe how new I feel
I'm not sure how they do this, despite all the music I've experienced over the years (and it's been many years now :), DCFC still makes me cry sometimes, that's a good sign
Yasssssss ... Growing old gracefully VIBES.... Coors in the daytime.. Cheers
Man! I love this, 80's ! General Public, Squeeze, Telvision,
updated, but seemingly
channeling that magic period!
O for sure
Been rocking with this band since I heard the song, "I Will Possess Your Heart." Got every song from them and this new album is rocking out like always. Keep it amped up, plugged in, and electrified you guys.
I got off the ride for awhile, but this album is amazing.
Jamming it as loud as it will!!!!!
I simply cannot contain my joy listening to this. Im so excited for the new album. Thank you DCFC for sharing this.
Their lyrics speak to me so specifically that it sometimes freaks me out. The music is so catchy I listen to the songs on repeat. See you in KC in Oct.
Reminds me of the good ol days.
Happy to be living my lifetime at the same time as this band. Been a part of my life since 2000. Love this new one! New order mixed with aughts indie rock and lyrically encapsulates the strangeness of the times. Also, as an artist, feeling the pain of vinyl manufacturing, lol. Cheers ❤️✨
bro OSHA was SCREAMING watching the forklift bit lmfao
OSHA VIOLATIONS FOREVER OR WHATEVER
From instrumentals, lyrics, to songwriting DCFC is true artistry and life-enhancing!
Well put!
La escuché en la mejor Radio doble nueve- LIMA-PERÚ !
99.1 FM💯💥
Mi hermano.
Muy bien! Igualmente yo.
The music from the 3:00 to 4:00 minute mark always gives me chills. Some of the best music I’ve heard in years. Makes you want to dance
I love this song, the lyrics are so interesting; great band!
Yeah, to me this song is incredibly important in that it hits on every human's deep longing to know Truth, to be one with something eternal. To find their Maker! That pursuit is so clouded by many things but like the Truman Show if you want the truth bad enough your true heart cry begins to surface!
🔥🔥🔥🔥
As an automation machine builder, as well as a huge death cab fan this video always makes me so happy
This group always manages to transport me, to bring me to a state of inner peace, of well-being, of joy. I am so grateful to life for putting this sound in my ears. I get chills all the time, something going through my spine. Hope to do an acoustic session with your in Paris France. We broadcast the song on our independent radio station
I've been listening to these guys for over a decade, and I just can't stop feeling. Every song is just so beautiful.
Death cab for cutie continues to to put out amazing music
I can't wait for the new album....I ABSOLUTELY LOVE DEATH CAB!! 😍
Wonderful sound from a timeless group.
We saw them last Friday in Grand Rapids. It was our third time seeing them and they were great as always. You could really tell that they were grateful to be on the road again.
Also saw them at this concert! I was so impressed with how he sounds exactly the same live. Such a good show ❤️
Me too! Such an amazing concert!
Both times I've seen them live it's been an amazing show
Trop génial ce groupe, quelle énergie sur scène. Que du bonheur de les avoir vus performer salle Pleyel à Paris il y a quelques jours.
i just heard this on the radio sk i came to hear it again it is amazing thank you
If you told me that Death Cab would effortlessly and comedically play off months of record delays, I would not have assumed that they did it via a banger of a music video.
See you guys in SC in a few weeks. Coming from Florida, and I don't mind the drive at all. Totally worth it and more. Be safe everyone and enjoy.
Hard to believe with thier new release that makes 32 albums between studio releases, live albums and EPs.
reminds me of working with summer students. and of having a best pal who you do crazy whatever you want to do with no worries. #neverstop
So excited!! I miss the lives from home.
This was great to watch, time to make the records, lol! Love the lyrics because I watch Turner Classic Movies channel all the time! Love the old movie reference!💜
heard this on the radio rndomly and CANNOT get it out of my head
They never disappoint, thanks Death Cab
One of those bands that always puts out such wonderful solid music, thank you
I also heard this last week and I LOVED it!! Thank you guys for continuing to bring us awesome music!! We appreciate you❤️
Saw them play this live on Colbert. Sound great live!
Thos is the most funniest video of Death Cab for Cutie. All their songs put me in a awesome mood, for sure..
So cool that you paid homage to “Such Great Heights” by showing the vinyl machinery, and how it looks like the microchip factory from the Such Great Heights video!
Yessss!!! Chills.
I absolutely love the first verse so much.
Your guys' art is so amazing!! I can't wait to see you in Missouri in October. I'll be front and center.
Words cannot describe the Beaty of your music. It just mesmerisers me. And with one of the best voices in Ben & the intricate musicianship is world class. ❤
I got a chuckle out of your misspelling of the word “beauty” because Beatty was an actor from the 50s, but he is still alive.
FROM GOD OR WHATEVER
freakishly accurate, as usual
Now it seems more than ever there's no hands on the levers...I love that line!!
Missed you guys. Have a special place for you guys
This is really good. Glad they're still at it.
Loving the nihilistic tone of this one. That first verse, especially, is gorgeous!
Maybe it's existential but I wouldn't call it nihilist
@young machines emphasis on the young part, huh
This band will obviously never reach transatlanticism heights again but might as well at least enjoy a band that's still making decent stuff
@@turbotaquitogoogle8095 that's pretty much what I said, that although it's obvious he's not there and they have changed which is only natural I still admire and enjoy thier music and they will always be one of my favorite bands.
I was touched by your beautiful song!!!
great songwriting!!!
I love this band. I know this is a very poppy sound but this guy has been added since like 1997, back when they were low fi, they are legends. Don't judge a book by its cover, there isn't one bad death cab album or EP. Every single one has at least five gems on it. Can't wait to hear this one.
I have loved Death Cab for forever! Absolute genius. 💕
How cute is this video though... Its like a movie comedy ... Love it!
Been a fan from the beginning. We live in Yelm,WA. What a delight to find your new song! Blessed Be Brothers!
Sonido inconfundible, apenas la escuché supe que era DCFC, una de mis bandas favoritas, excelente track!!
