Embarrassingly, I can relate to most, probably all of this video🤣 The golden era... Congratulations on recreating the thoughts and visions of many (now middle aged) b-boys & b-girls lives, of that time👏👏👍👍

That was tough Boi!… Very well done. Those were the days… late 80s early 90s, the golden age of UK rap. My claim to fame being involved with the B.R.O.T.H.E.R movement, and the charity track: Beyond the 16th Parallel, alongside Hijack, Demon Boyz, MC Mello, London Possé, Cookie Crew, and some of the other big names of the time. I'm smiling all the way through watching this… Proppa Tingz!
Wicked video - amazing attention to detail! Brings back memories of trying struggling to get the capital rap show with Westwood on my radio in the early 90s and also of driving through perfectly safe neighbourhoods whilst pumping out Ice T and Slick Rick and playing them loud on my bedroom midi hifi system but quickly reaching for the volume knob when I knew swearing was imminent, great times and great music🔥
The mixing equipment, the personal hi-fi with orange sponge headphones, the home décor, the red telephone box complete with working telephone, poor Mrs Peacock she was so stunned, by the rap he gave in her presence. A quality hip-hop tribute, respect to the Compton Crew, peace out.
Echo the details. Superb. Can the next one be autobiographic of me please, where I throw up my first (and last graf) piece on the side of the local spar. Even my mum said it was shit. Film made me go way back...….way back, way back, way back, way back. Yo think that's just about as far back as we can go!
Ha ha, brings back nostalgic vibes. Went to high school in the 90s listening to NWA WuTang Mob Deep etc. Whilst smoking solid! Pretty bang on for my early teenage years! Lol😂😂😂
The ad for the tour Hijack was on with Ice - T. I went to the Barrowlands gig & they are STILL one of the best live acts i've ever seen. I also got a very brief meet with Ice before the gig backstage thanks to an old friends dad who was senior security gor the venue.
Broo! I rate you for this! My school teacher used to try mess with us and be like Compton was originally in Surrey as a kid defending all things hip hop this was a heated debate in the classroom- still got love for my teachers they knew what they was doing! 🤣
I also always wondered what the artists would think if they saw where their music was played. Like here in small town finland, middle of the woods. Great film with all details!
Oh my days takes me back to tdk 90s red working phone boxes and nike air max 90. Thanks Mark. Top notch production wicked sound track. Keep it up. Great short film.
Wow! This was so well done! Details, the obsession many of us had just for the love of the music! And who doesn’t want mum’s hot chocolate?! Brilliant work. Bravo all involved!
Ha we have a compton in devon as well down some propa country lanes and I'll always thought would be funny to take a photo of me stood next to the sign in "hip hop gear" lol, great video guys , keep it up, so many good bits
haha the chase to the phone box was funny, and the scene was great, having to rap with an old woman in the box , quality 😆😆😆just finished watching , watching again, too many good bits to quote them all lol
Enough to trigger PTSD . I'm 50 years old now and finally worked out that wearing a scarf is for winter and pin rolling trousers is for when I take the dog for a work if it's muddy .
Love it. I tried to find anything out for place in 1990 but didn't succeed, so well done on getting all the details and props on point. I bought my first hip hop record in Our Price in early 1982. I'd never heard of rap or hip hop, I was just intrigued by the title: The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash on the Wheels of Steel. The title baffled me as I had no idea what 'wheels of steel' were. But 99p for a 12" was a bargain so I bought it. First listen and I hated it. Weird turntable manipulation and songs running into one another (I recognised Atomic and Good Times). But it grew on me and I never looked back. I dreamed of owning a set of Technics decks but I could never afford such luxuries. By 1990 I was more into the rave scene but I've never stopped listening to hip hop. This film took me back in time.
Absolutely fantastic, The tunes are on point and the attention to detail is amazing, Especially having a joint burning the solid watch out for the hot rocks 😂 Well done ❤
My youth in 12 minutes. Love it. Still have my britcore vinyl won't part with that for anything! "Hijack will reign supreme, the British nightmare to America's dream" 😎
Had that same sleeping bag jacket, found it in a charity shop in the 90s😂😂😂 Used to listin to westwood on tv's night network and capital fm great times great music.
That was amazing! Really well executed in every scene. The attention to detail was on point. I’d love to see a series of these guys, I can see it working. Big up all involved. 🔥🔥🔥👊🏼
This is wicked!! If I’m not mistaken the number read out for the rap line competition is actually the same as the rap line number on Dave Pearces show on GLR…
That number was 486 double 7 double 4. Burned into my memory as a former regular participant who actually won one of them back in 1987 pre-Lords of Rap 😂
Really well done. 1990 to a tee.. Fire Red and Bred 4s, Infrared 90s, Sleeping bag jacket, pug 205 gti and dad’s rover, smoking black rocky in the park. Attention to detail!
It's often the absence of things that make things special. Like the skateboarding or punk culture with those underground mags in the 80's. I often wonder if I would do graff if I grew up in nowadays with so much over the top quality and quantity on the internet. Same with skateboarding: the clips of a gazillion flips on over the top ramps probably wouldn't inspire me that much.

Brilliant. So many little details in so many shots... and the cars! Got a proper laugh from the line about dad hating laughter too. Great work!!
Brilliant! I grew up around that area, this was simultaneously painfully relatable and hilarious 😆. Really well made short film, nice work.
The golden age of buying Hip Hop Connection, Gunshot, Hijack, Ice-T, SL Troopers, Daddy Freddy, Eric B and Rakim, great stuff man!
I fully endorse that statement. 👌
