Our authorities, especially National Development, are still sleeping, not aware of hdb resale flats price sky rocketing. Also, many buyers of overpriced condo properties are thinking of doing flipping to make money when it reaches the three years "mop" period. Singapore property market is like casino gaming now.
they are aware....that why they cool it already. how effective is another question alltogther. this is the fun part isint? just like stock market. some win n some lose.
@@alanweepropertymy humble opinion is HDB should never ever be allowed to be traded in the open market in the first place… anybody wana sell HDB must return to HDB, and anyone want to buy must apply to HDB.. those wana fry property can do so in private market u wana fry to billions and trillions not my problem.. But why is the early govt in the 80s and 90s allowed resale market HDB? Oh well to suck the stamp duty as a lucrative income for the government?
Hummmm....likewise I think hdb is an asset that have help many underprivileged families to improve their life. Otherwise, they will always stuck in that vicious cycle. It has also help many to upgrade. I see your point. But there are always 2 sides of the coin. The stamp duty is never part of their consideration. If there is. It's goes towards nation building 🏫
Only a rare few truly realise that HDB residential properties are intended to be the long-term anchor for Singapore citizens and/or Permanent Residents to establish roots here. Hence, the HDB market is a localised circular closed-loop economy in a sense that what goes around comes around for everyone (Singaporeans and/or Permanent Resident stakeholders permanently residing only in Singapore HDB property) involved; unless, one opts to cash out (irrevocably exit the HDB and private property market in Singapore completely) and exit Singapore permanently.

Government shouldn't allow HDB to be flipped by ppl as money making tool. It was first introduced to let Singaporeans have a home. With the prices now it's not worth it anymore imho. You can't even encash if need money, from mortgage. Bc it still belongs to HDB even if fully paid. Government should also make those with private properties give up their hdb to free up units for ppl who really need. Again, shouldn't be a money making took for rental income
I disagree. If hdb cannot be resold. Then how to upgrade n multiple assets. Hdb is the most basic but most powerful tool we can leverage on for all Singaporean.
@@Buttercookiesssss its has long acheive that today...90%+ owned their own flat. plus some even can buy pte property for investment. isn't that beautiful thru that humble hdb flat? today BTO has also done that. many poor income can uplift themselves even singles. they bought $150k. sold for $350k. they are so thankful for retirement..
don't agree with the throw parents into nursing home part. This is a common misunderstanding today. Nursing homes today are much more well equipped to handle care than the past. Sometimes, keeping elderly at home - especially those who are ill and need higher care at most times of the day (think tube feeding, bed turning, nursing care ) - they need to be housed in nursing homes. Not everything can be trained to a helper to conduct.
@@alanweeproperty it really depends. Some nursing homes also provide day care centres and activities. They are extremely useful for elderly who are lonely especially those whose spouse have passed away. Nursing home is really not just about “dumping” them at a centre and forgetting about them. Besides, there is also legislation to deter deliberate neglect of elderly parents.

I agreed with u. Some need special care. Sadly, I have also seen many cases. Anyway, ages in your own home 🏠 is the best.

@@shurakishi4707 Thank u for sharing. But for me n my own parents. We prefer to age in place.
non-filial, sick or not, parents should stay at home and you as the child should take care of them.
@@oki148 that is tall order and pls do not say this if you haven’t handled ill family members with severe and intensive care taking needs.
