The main thing to remember is that Quorthon either changed his mind often or played mind games on interviers (or both). Depending on who talked to him he would say he loved Venom or never heard of them, hated or loved Maiden etc etc. He kept making up fake birth names as well.
I come back here, 17 years later, to announce that this video was one of the first ever I have added to my favourites on then starting up RUclips. It still proudly remains there to this day. Back then I have actually created a first ever playlist with all 3 parts. This playlist still exists nearly 2 decades later.
Of course Boss was Quorthon's father! How can you have missed that? They kept it secret beacuse it was improper to have a father as the boss of the bands record company, cause people would have thought that Boss gave Quorthon special treatment. If you don't belive me, you can read a big exclusive interview with Boss in Sweden Rock Magazine #38 from 2006!
I've read some time ago Quorthong did have several (or at least single one) live perfomance, but other members parted away in a short time and perfomances were never performed again. I think you might see short video shot of one somewhere in the middle of "One Rode To Asa Bay" video.
> for some reason they filmed a lot of him just > going through his everyday life. I think it was his dad, the BOSS. And media collecting was his real business (Black Mark Records). > It's like why can't their be this much > footage of Mayhem with Dead?! Maybe just because of Dead acting alone and finishing his deals on this planet a lot younger? : ) If Qurton was a warrior of the North, Dead was poet of the dark. Both of them rules till now \m/
In 1990, BATHORY were already very big in Portugal , solely on radio play, from North to South of the land - what you see here is just a sample. When ''they'' were interviewed on LANÇA_CHAMAS (Flamethrower), on national fm (´´Rádio Comercial'' being the station's odd-sounding name for foreigners...), by the late ANTÓNIO SÉRGIO, on a Saturday afternoon, i bet 4 outta 5 PT Metalheads were listening to Sérgio's show. The best way i can describe his radio talent is by calling him the PT ''Orson Welles''. Quorthon immediately understood he was speaking to a metal radio master so he gave his most articulate answers and best English ever (both Sérgio and Quorthon had nice British pronunciation). It was an historical interview and visit - look who's there to host him at the record shops - future people from Moonspell, Decayed, Filii Nigrantium Infernalium...
Come on The return and Under the Sign on Black mark were some of the best black metal records ever made. i guess you are in to Bathory's later viking material.
Blood Fire Death, apart from the Old Spice intro and a PN Arbo's painting on the cover, is NOT a Viking ''metal'' artifact. Call it Blackened Death, call it Black, call it whatever comes close to those murky waters; Hammerheart, Twilight of the Gods, Blood on Ice and the pair of Nordlands DO capture the spirit and nurture the Viking ambience. BFD is the final side of Bathory's first BM tetralogy. It's incredible how a simple intro and a cover do work in matters of mass mind control...
They might be, I understand people thinking so, and I respect black metal as a form of music, but I'm personally not very fond of it. But the viking material is pretty good, so, yes I like those albums a lot! Oh, And just because I happen to dislike certain songs does not mean my former comment has to be marked as spam...
@charlesskf however this year at Sweden Rock festival Watain is going to do a hail concert to Quorthon introduced by his father BOSS, it says, it will be awesome anyway :D
I love Qourthons music, mostly. I do not like the songs such as Total Destruction and so on, though... its just noise. Maybe it would be good with soundquality:P
too bad nobody has any live-footage from when bathory DID do live shows (and where the hell can i find bathory cds these days? am i gonna have to go to helvette or what?)
@skipia22 i might be the only guy in manitoba who listens to Bathory without also listening to shitty Dimmu. i only know a few people who know of Bathory.

i love the 90s nobody knows theyre being filmed, no one is doing peace and pout and stupid duck faces...i miss the innocence of pre-2000 youth.
Bathory is the closest one can come to pure perfection.

So little was known about him in the 80's but what a remarkable person he is...Hail Quarthon!!!
he was, actually... he stated it in Sweden Rock Magazine #38. They kept it a secret so that no one would say that he favourized his son or something.
He was and still is truly a god. To Sweden!

I mange to meet him in 2002 and mange to get the last yellow goat shirt and he was shocked that I had one out of yellow goat
I can't believe he's gone. It's like a part of me went with him. RIP Rockdaddy!
The way he everything's is metal.
Quorthon didn't hate Iron Maiden...
> for some reason they filmed a lot of him just

Thanks for sharing !
3:28....King Diamond and Quorthon in one record signing? Epic
no its just a bunch of displays of conspiracy. since it would have been a new relase around this time.

I would have killed backed then to get a signature. RIP Quorthon
I said it... they did not want people to think BOSS favorized his son...
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS VIDEO..

Yes, he did have several live shows, but then he stopped to focus more on Bathory's albums.
@RedemptionSatan One of the SEXIEST LONG HAIRED MAN OF THE WORLD !!!
5:35 - true metal dedication
The death of Quorthon is the biggest tragedy of my late yet
and im 14
God damn I would have loved to meet him.
@charlesskf however this year at Sweden Rock festival Watain is going to do a hail concert to Quorthon introduced by his father BOSS, it says, it will be awesome anyway :D
heart failure
@JammingJimmie - Well, maybe he changed his musical taste, don't know. The video is from 1990, as stated at the beginning of it.
If I saw Quorthon, I would...
@speaker84 - Well, I'm quite sure they didn't know he hated Iron Maiden. They weren't spoiled brats with internet back then.
at 3:30 Shores in Flames is playing. fuck yeah!
RIP
i respect that as well and i did not marked it as a spam.
@speaker84 Well why would it matter what they listened to?
whats the song in 4:16 called??
i have heard it before but i forgot whats it called..
the chick on 4:26 looks like the girl from those 80s movies Pretty in Pink Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles who agrees
I love Qourthons music, mostly. I do not like the songs such as Total Destruction and so on, though... its just noise. Maybe it would be good with soundquality:P
Where can I read something more about him? It's hard to find some.
so its been said, but quorthon has always denied it
hi again freak:) you are right about this theres no interesting stuff but ive never seen his mug before!
is it french subtitle on this DVD ?
too bad nobody has any live-footage from when bathory DID do live shows (and where the hell can i find bathory cds these days? am i gonna have to go to helvette or what?)
One True Vikingbard is there a record store around you? Those normally have Bathory CDs. If there isn't you can find them online
@SlayTheProphet not his clean vocals... but yea, point taken otherwise
Why on earth is Quorthon signing a copy of Kat Bush's "The Dreaming"? Weird!
@speaker84 don't he liked them?
No, never did. Even though around this time he was making plans to do so, they always fell through. Or so I'm told anyway.
ye a bit, if her hair was redder
why?
If BOSS really were Thomas' father he could have made him at the age of 12...nice score, isn't it?
And...?!
cool but why such short clips, interviews are cut and right in the middle of speaking, could've done a little better editing.
@skipia22 i might be the only guy in manitoba who listens to Bathory without also listening to shitty Dimmu.
i only know a few people who know of Bathory.
even??
2:51 Re-Animator!!!!!!!
he really hates maiden and venom? or thats just a lie
he never hated maiden, but he did hate venom.
Maybe you didn't, but I got six thumbs down for expressing my opinion.. what is this??? china?
