Funny you made the comment on the TS9, I actually used a tube screamer on the recording but felt crammed filming with a full pedal board in front of me. Maybe next time I'll throw it in there! Thanks! Yes and no. I recorded my snare with a good ol' sm57 on top and a crappy little condenser on bottom. I did however use a sample that I made of my own snare to back it up. It's really hard to mix a hot snare without getting tons of hi-hat bleed. You can use gates and other effects to help out but it just ends up destroying things when you go too crazy. There are a ton of great samples out there but I like using my own. I feel its more of a unique sound. I do use them sparingly though

I was actually watching the Tyler Ward "Suit and Tie" cover not but just one minute ago. Alex Goot is probably the biggest reason I'm actually doing these vids. I love everything those guys do!
