- I drive up to The Tent because of heavy rains in northern Minnesota to do a Tent check. Roads have been washed out. Many places have flooded. Water everywhere but the Tent is fine.
Dads cabin is an Art treasure ! Amazing....
Your Fathers cabin is one of the most beautiful homes I have ever seen. He is truly an artist
Joe's father cabin is beautiful simply beautiful.
I'm glad your cabins are ok and didn't get flooded ..good news.
At our age does it ever amaze you and leave you without words at the amazing power of all of the forces at work on this planet but especially the unyielding power of water ?!?!
It is amazing to watch what water can do. It is beautiful if watched from a distance.
I have baby bunnies in my flower bed. They have survived the rain under my plants. I only noticed them when I went to water my plants prior to the downpours. They squealed and momma came running. I have checked on them and it’s getting a bit crowded but they are doing fine. I don’t think I will have to water for at least a week. I was without power last night for 8 hours
First thing I thought it was at least the ducks aren't crapping on your dock anymore LOL
Hey thanks we all were praying that everything was ok, but that road is truly flooded! 👏👏👏👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
WOW!! Mother nature showing off and letting everyone know, who’s the Boss !!
Thanks Joe! So glad everything is ok! Always enjoy your channel!
We are. In a similar situation down by Mankato. Water everywhere! I raised one dock and have another under water. Month ago we were in a drought! Take care!
You guys down there really got nailed yesterday. The news said that some areas in southern Minnesota got upwards of 9 inches. Wow.
Nice cabins thank you for sharing
Wow!! Good thing the tent is on higher ground Joe! Too much rain for sure!!
As usual, Joe, you go go go!
Wow! We've had our share over here in ND. But luckily the only damage is a Sunflower that planted itself. And I think the wind got that. I hope we get a nice long Indian summer. I mean a girl can dream😊 My apple tree is over over loaded with pips so I have heard that when trees and things overload that a harsh winter is to come. I guess cause we skated through last winter we gotta pay the tax.
So happy there was no damage to your or your dad’s cabins.
Glad the tent and your folk's cabin are ok.
It sure was nice to take a ride in the old King Ranch again. I miss that girl.
wow that's a lot of water, glad the tent and your dads place was ok.
Good to see no damage at the tent.the road is gone.🤩🤩👍👍
Zachary was up there today and he drove his car and boat right through that area. The dirt on the road looked dry as a bone. Lol. You would never have known it was flooded 2 days ago except one hole that was about as big as a basketball on the one side where it washed out.
When you showed the inside of dad's place, I wanted to take a nap on the bed. So peaceful and so beautiful. I could be there for a month and never get bored or tired of that most beautiful camp. ♥ I am glad all was ok with both properties.
Who do you think you are, Goldilocks?
@@nojnoj3069Yes
That’s a lot of flooding! Glad you didn’t have any damage!
Talking about flooding Joe the town of Rock Valley Iowa in Nw. Iowa was evacuated yesterday and the patients in the hospital were moved to Sioux Center Ia hospital so now they are full We had 10 in of rain in the last week and 30 in the last 3 weeks in Sanborn Iowa there isn't a road that the water isn't running over it. Where you are at Joe compare that to Rock Valley Iowa Town. Stay safe Joe
Darn mosquitoes! They sure can spoil the enjoyment of the North Woodsin the summer.
Darn mosquitoes and darn cyclists!
@@nojnoj3069
Good Job Joe! Most water I’ve seen at the 🏕️ tent
Glad to see the 6.0 is still running good. Wouldn’t mind seeing it driven even more 🙂
I never knew your dad had such a long boardwalk to the water. Hopefully your outboard survived. Weather extremes r getting more frequent for sure
Mosquitoes! My wife and I were in Ketchican Alaska a couple of years ago in June, brother they were relentless...now with all the rain you got I can only imagine.
Glad to see all is okay 👍 Vermont was under water last summer🌊
Where I live near Dower Lake in Central MN area is swamp land. My house has a minimum of 7 springs/auqufers underneath. Both the sump pump and emersion pump were definitely running, I do need to upgrade to a battery backup sump pump for sure, about 6 inches of water in the basement. Cleaned up now, but any good rain or heavy snow thaw it's the same.
Joe, I think you are correct with the land being more flat where Melissa is from. Ideally, flatter land would have better drainage.
Also, I think the further north it is more sandy as well.
I wonder if we have more wetlands and rivers that erode and cause more problems with dirt roads. Bevers are another big problem in minnesota. Just some thoughts.
I'm happy to see the tent is alright.
Wow, I can't wait to see a followup video...
Glad the tent is in good shape!
Looks like the land of 10,000 lakes is now the land of 20,000 lakes! Good to see the tent and your folks' cabin is OK.
And of course it’s raining again. What a mess.
Glad all was okay at the property’s.
Glad there was no damage. We are 115 here in Henderson NV as we speak, but with only 7% humidity and no mosquitoes! 😬
So its a dry heat right? 🥵😂
My sweet corn would love that heat after all this rain.
That's a lot of water, you all take care!
Making the Mississippi River Great Again 😱
💧💧💨💦💦💦☔️⛈️🌧️⛈️⛈️
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍❤
7.3 for the win.. Awesome engines.
Generally speaking, and depending on the municipality, it is illegal to ride your bike on a sidewalk.
Glad to see that the tent and your folks’s place are high and dry.
Where's the Dock?? Wow that's a lot of water.. Have to see what it looks like when you go back. Stay safe and have a great day.👍🤓👍🤓.Randy.
The dock was about 7 inches under water and the water had dropped at least a foot already from its high point.
Looks like a mess up there. Glad the tent and your parents cabin is ok.
Joe Send some of that rain to Virginia we can use it 👍
Glad the tent was ok as well as your dads place
Here in East Tennessee we have a lane just for cycles and they never use them and the price (out taxes) for them was BIG, outrageous!
❤️ hope all is well.
That's a lotta water!
Because bikes are made for the roads. Some places you can even get a ticket for riding them on the side walks
Wow!
Wow that road was gone. It be interesting to see when the water is gone.
I thought of y'all when I saw tornado and other storm warnings for around up there!!
❤❤
Down south they have that clay thay bonds and holds together up by your tent is more sandy around pines like that an it washes out easier
Whoa !!!!
You need a Therma cell or two to clip to your belt they will keep the bugs away from you 15’ each one so if you have one one belt your covered for 15 ‘ 2 will give you 15’ each side 30’ . I use them all the time even hunting and fishing. Outside sitting I put one on the ground each side of me . And they have different types for around home or outside. I bet you could kayak that road where you turned around.
Those do work...I was a doubter at first but they really do work.
Looks like Washington State❤
Awesome cabin, please tell me about your weather station in your tent.
It is an Ambient Weather Osprey and it has worked flawlessly for many years.
Hey there mr Joe I hope all is well that's a lot of rain in your had but the part where you were talking about about the hills you would think it would drain a lot more faster up when y'all in being the hills are more higher than what we got down here in Louisiana being a flat and it's slow slow slow and it takes a long time to be done with
Joe you just as well come down here and stay with me during deer season here in Oklahoma. We'll get you a deer.
WOW THE FLOODING is INSANE!
Wow
I got 4o acres in the middle of the koochiching state forest littlefork mn. There is so much water went up this weekend July 4th and it's bad my road (deer river line) was washed out. 3 days to repair. Went up with other plans but ended up repairing state trail
17:46 You realize the salt and pepper shakers are not centered with the lamp, which makes the note pad and pen off?
I always say Joe, where water once stood, it could and probably will again
Joe you need a drone. You could of gotten a great view overhead of that flooded road with it.
Stay safe
As you were driving up to the tent and talking about maybe having to go in the back way I said to myself, Joe I hope you brought your chainsaw. Yup, I was glad to hear that.
We made it in
Tip for you Joe! If you lay a dark towel across your dash, you don't get the reflection of it back on the windshield in the videos :)
I believe they're called dash mats?
@@nojnoj3069 it's cheaper just to use and old towel or blanket
know you do trips for content but you should also install webcams at your tent so you can check in live from your home
🤘🤘
It would be a good idea to have a camera that reads your SD card and leave it at the cabin for when you don’t bring your computer
A+ Tracks look really old and not very well maintained even w/o a flood. - glad you are Ok
Holy smokes!
It's "Holy smoke's Batman".
Have you put any thought of deer hunting in a different area this year. I know in one of ur video's you had mentioned it that it may be time to try.
Puff puff pass 🔥💨💨💨
Here in Missouri this kind of flooding is an every year occurrence.
You made me laugh about the guy on the bike..we have the same drama here in Canberra (Aus) the majority of the roads have separate lanes for them and when a car passes them you have to give them a metre clearance...then on the weekend all the mmils ( middle aged men in Lycra) come out riding in "pelatons" in the middle of the roads...pretending to be in the Tour de France but heading to their group coffee date at local cafes..and they are allowed to hold up the traffic as much as they like 😑🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️🚴♂️
We here in ky haven’t had rain in six weeks my garden drying up
Ours wont grow hardly because nights have been in the 40s and days occasionally making it into the low 6os. Most days have been in the 50s and the constant rain. Looks like this week will still be wet but 70s and even an 80 in the forecast.
It's a heatwave here in Georgia heat index today 103- 108
It may be illegal for bikes on the sideway and at the edge of the road there's debris and broken glass that pops tires.
Send that rain to NC
Have you tried the hoodie/netting bug protection? Saves you from DEETing yourself.
The body at rest is the worst. Got things to do no matter what. No one said it will be easy…
u need to spare some kind of rust preventer on ur truck before it falls apart
Are you kidding?....That would be like pouring perfume on a pig!
@@nojnoj3069 no not kidding , so ur a pig
I don’t know about Minnesota, but here in Illinois you can’t ride your bike on the sidewalk. You have to ride your bike with the floor of the traffic or you get a ticket.
Yep, I think it's like that in North Florida
In Minnesota bikes are allowed on sidewalks except in business districts. That area is not the business district of that city.
Land of - 20,000 lakes now!!😅😂
best comment down here!
@tomlorenzen4062 •......Scratch that.....Land of 40, 000 lakes!
@tomlorenzen4062 • Typical news stations sensationalism. The dam has clearly not failed. It's right there....maybe if they'd regularly and now immediately removed the detritus from the middle of the dam, it will remain in place.....To me this is just typical of cutting costs and lack of funds for regular maintenance.
I hope your ma and pa are ok because of the flooding down by the twin cities.
No real flooding down there. It happened a couple hours south of them.
@@NorthernSeclusion I am pleased to hear that. Viktoria
I just watched the Rapidan dam failure on RUclips. All that rain and nowhere to go fast enough.
IWhere we live it's illegal to ride bicycles on sidewalks. I too dislike having to drive behind them or beside them. Makes me so nervous.
We are supposed to bring our Boy Scout Troop up to the Boundary Waters. Have not heard anything from our outfitter. Think he gets a call Monday first thing! It is a 7 hour drive we do not want to take if we an not get out.
Water is going down pretty fast. Zach was up to the tent yesterday and that part of the road that was covered was no longer covered. He could drive through there. Bring bug spray that is at least 40% deet because the mosquitoes are twice as horrid is they have ever been, and they are usually pretty horrid. You will literally have 20 of them on the top of your hand if it is exposed.
You might want to cancel that adventure Because the pestilence that is so bad because of the rain and cool weather will make it miserable for you guys, it's not worth it and you'd have a better experience at the end of August
Will all that water eventually wind-up in the Mississippi River?
No, not in that area. At the tent the water flows north towards Canada we are above the divide but on the ride up, all that water will make it to lake Superior. The Mississippi is more towards the center of the state (kind of) in relation to where I was driving, it is west. The tent area is also farther north above where the Mississippi river starts in Itasca State Park.
@@NorthernSeclusion …..thanks for clarifying 👍
@@wmdouglas3 not only is he the hardest working man in Minnesota, he's pretty smart too.
I would like to know what kind of Hamburger s you Buy thank you for the video Awesome Always
The brand name is "No Name" and we buy the "Steakhouse Seasoning."
13:20 check that engine for water before you pull on it....
Once the water goes down you’ll have pan for gold in some of them.
Just take the truck to Earl Shives for a 29.99 repair and paint ! LOL
“I’ll paint any car, any color for $29.95”
Did you bail the dinghy out?
The drain plug is out, as the lake goes down, all the water will drain out.
You've got a 6.0L ford diesel??? Oh Lordy. Brave man.
Why's that? I don't know anything about 6L diesels.
He had the problem eliminated right after he bought it. I don't remember what the problem was but there is an after market alteration he had done
I have a 6.0 in my black truck with 325.000 miles on. Fully deleted. I have a 6.4 in my white truck fully deleted.
@@NorthernSeclusion what does fully deleted mean?!
That camera shot at 17:45 will be referenced next time you're at the tent to make sure nothing has moved since today's video was recorded. 😉
