2021 Cadillac CT5-V (3.0L V6) | Exhaust Notes

- Headphones in, volume up. Have a listen to the brand new Cadillac CT5-V, the replacement for the ATS-V and CTS V-Sport. Cadillac have finally found a way to make their 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged V6 sing. This is the best sounding Cadillac of this generation. There’s character in its voice, a distinct pop on hard upshifts, and a polished gearbox to keep up with the rapid fire shifts. Select V mode and a flap in the exhaust will open, turning up the volume even further. A higher RPM limit would have been the icing on the cake. Cadillac admits that some of the noise is piped in through the speaker system, making it sound 75% like a Maserati Ghibli (a huge compliment), but have a listen to our Exhaust Notes video where our microphone is mounted outside right next to the actual exhaust, to hear its true authentic voice. I will own one in 2021.my 2 year old ats still gives me the wow factor. The ct5v sounds amazing. Shifts quick!!!!!!
Yeah the 10-speed is a major upgrade over the old unit in the ATS. And finally a wonderful exhaust noise to match.

Agreed. Cadillac has really found a way to make that V6 sing. Can't wait for those aftermarket companies to make it even better.

Have a listen to an N55, gen 2 B58 (found in M40i cars like the M340i), single midpipe or equal length midpipe S55. Those sound sweet and silky, but exciting and raw.
As far as turbocharged V6’s in similar cars, C43/E43 Amg sounds better than this 3.0tt CT5-V.
The Tlx Type S and Audi S4/S5 sounds better to me.
While the CT5-V does sound pretty good, it sounds kind of dull in comparison to those cars.
You have to see for yourself in person
I was thinking to get one 2020 they are not bad for price in Canada can get one for 40 or 45k with low km to me 2020 or 2023 look similar so don't care few years old as goes down by over 20k in those few years for some low km on it compare new
I'm thinking about it I love this car I like it better then bmw Benz compare low amg models or m340 for example same horse power or cla 45
And this comes with nice fully loaded package it's really really well put together
I have question how is the comfort in comfort mode ? As that's very important to me I love comfort in cars I have 2015 Jetta I got tired of sitting on it my back is hurting from that car

I have one myself and it sounds no where as good as this^ there is no way the car is that loud stock because I know mine does not sound like that.
It actually is, in the description the guy tells us that he has the mic hooked up to the back of the car near the exhaust.😁

@@unintentionallyfire Sadly not. This 10-speed was jointly developed between GM and Ford. A solid unit but not the gold standard.
That’s funny you brought that up Matt Farah from the Smoking Tire talked about that in his review of this car , and he said he hoped that Cadillac fixes the shift limiter in the 2021 car he’s exactly right.
@@CanadianAutoReview was that full throttle or partial throttle? The other gear shifts looked much better. I wouldn’t be surprised or disappointed if it only did that during partial throttle under, say, 50%.
Is the sound piped thru the speakers?
I believe some of it is. But what you're hearing in the video is from the microphone mounted outside next to the exhaust. So none of the piped-in speaker noise is present in the video.
they take engine sounds from the engine bay and play it through the speakers, but hey at least its not like the i8 which has a damn soundtrack it plays lmao
Is what we're hearing, the sound 🔉 generated by the audio system or the actual exhaust? I tend to believe it's the "enhanced" version mapped out by the audio system.
Mic was also mounted outside next to the exhaust, so what you're hearing is also from the outside audio.
No Cadillac don’t use audio system that’s bmw and Audi
Ok that makes some sense, but doesn't give a true representation of how it sounds from in the car as shown? Something was modded on that exhaust.
