My father knew Johnny Keys very well. My father was Angelo Bruno's godson, and both my father and grandfather were soldiers in the Bruno family. My father was VERY old school mafioso, very tight lipped, hated the flashy mafia members like JG. I remember him saying "today they all want to be celebrities". That was back in 1996. He died in 2019 at the age of 86. Hated talking on phones. Used to drive me crazy when I was in the car with him, "Always watch your mirror". He had me making lefts and rights whenever he thought we were being tailed. Always paid for everything. Everything was on him when he went out with his family. Didn't have any friends, just his family. Didn't trust anyone outside his circle. He was the last of the Mohicans and I miss him every day.

I love learning about the mob. If you ever get the chance, go see the organized crime museum in Las Vegas. Wow, just wow. I have been addicted to this channel for about a week. I watched dozens and dozens of videos but the story of Johnny keys hit so different. I'm a completely straight laced person, save for a few embellishments here or there my tax returns. I'm not affiliated with anyone who's affiliated with anything criminal. I have to say however, this story of Johnny keys and how Sammy developed such respect and adoration for what this man believed in and how he conducted himself knowing that he was going to die, so moving and so touching, so poignant that I cried. Wow. It's the principle of a man standing for and living his conviction, even when he is the loser of the day. Life is fragile, conviction while you residing in it is everything.
I worked for Simone's relative who was in the life and retired to Hawaii and opened a Pizzaria there (Oahu) great guy. Absolutely nutz. Married a woman named Mary who was 20 years younger than him. He hated Hawaii and moved to Florida to be closer to family and died of a heart attack soon after.
It is interesting to me. This is not a life anyone should live, but the real feelings that Sammy has for his associates and the real feelings they for him are special. That closeness is hard to find, difficult to get to experience for most of us.
@@lisashrestha5023 Both the poster and yourself need to rethink your statements. I have studied mafia history for years and love these stories as much as anyone but don't allow yourselves to get caught up in the emotion of this production. It's rediculous to consider these utterly corrupted and treacherous people as loyal bands of brothers. As much as they have some moralistic values, they live by a distorted and twisted set of rules based on the exploitation of others. They are fascinating people no doubt but nobody should be glorifying them. Sammy comparatively seems to have been a mafia member with a higher moralistic value, he is definitely a master story teller and incredibly interesting but let's not pretend he comes from a beautiful background.
If you think the closeness of people so treacherous that they cannot trust barely anyone around them is hard to find I would consider your life choices!
@@cameronjones8641 you are not wrong. But Sammy does feel close to many of the people in his former life. It is the closeness soldiers feel to each other in a fox hole. Yes, the mob life is full of treacherous behavior, if ordered to they will kill their best friend, but also their best friends know what they signed up for. Their are no drafties in the mob, they all volunteered.
I am not suggesting to anyone it's the sort life they should lead, most people life the life that they fit into. I never would have fit into a mob life.
If anyone has read the Godfather, they talk about how Don Corleone formed his crew, Clemenza, Tessio, Al Neri, Luca Brasi etc...their background, where they came from, some of the past work theyve done. Its awesome, and this is a real life version of that. Amazing stories

41:39 "He killed 16 Czechoslovakians the guy was an interior decorator"😭
Took me back to that episode of The Sopranos with Paulie & Chrissy in the woods when Tony tries to call and warn them.
I remember that episode, funniest shit ever lol

@@dappvangogh8685 😂Holy shit thanks for posting haven't seen that ep in sum years
I knew someone would comment this the minute Sammy said that😭😭
@@joeydesimone2850 First thing that came to mind lol
This is better than the sopranos. HBO should do a Mini series on his life. I watch the sopranos every Sunday for 6 years.I would watch this every night for 10 years.
Not HBO... it would be woke woke woke.
For 15$ a month nah I'll watch it free
The subtle piano in the background is tremendous
i hate it lol. his stories are enough
It feels like he's telling his story and life before he about to die, so future people can watch
I basically said the same thing in another video. He's documenting everything he's done in his life. I hope Sammy has at least another 20 year's. Plus he has a book that's out and I definitely want to buy it.
@@froey198033 “Underboss” is a FANTASTIC book. I read it as a kid in 1998-1999. I was a teen. I found it at the public library, and I never returned it. I still have the hard copy. I love learning about the mob. If you ever get the chance, go see the organized crime museum in Las Vegas. They have the original wall from the Valentine’s Day massacre AND the barber chair where Albert Anastasia was killed.
@@lanceharlow8621 damn thief
They should all do this before they die
These stories with Sammy telling them is better than watching most documentaries on mafia!
And this was real!!
Better than every documentary out there on this stuff. By far.
I love the way Sammy is always polite and gracious, while making it clear you better do things his way or you will regret it.
This needs to be a television series amazing stories
@Derrick Blanton you can do both
The feeling he gets by remembering .. it’s I think the only time ! He’s shown so much
These stories are unusually good. I'm finding they are an emotional roller coaster....anxiety, sadness, suspense....I'm a little choked up at times, crossing my arms, holding my breath, shifting in my chair and hanging on every word.
This is so fcking insanely good, this entire fcking podcast, holy shit bro it's amazing.
The Johnny Keys story had my undivided attention. I was hungry, but this was so rivoting that I couldn’t tear myself away. Excellent, Sammy. I was in tears at the end.
You have a better chance seeing a unicorn than to see me cry, but the Johnny Keys story made me tear up. Shot out to him.
I understand your point. Ditto on the Keys story. PS no diminishment in shedding a tear every now and again. Still 💪.
....🤔....
So, I guess that unicorn bit was kinda pointless, huh?
" Nobody's happy about this hit no more.... Nobody's happy, nobody's smiling. Nobody's doin nothin" Sammy should be writing feature length films with Robert Rodriguez right now.
28:30 Sammy, that’s a man’s move, smart and humanitarian! I loved it. Old school approach 👏👏
I've never seen him choke up ever before, I mean I really wouldn't consider it choking up but just the way his voice cracked a little bit was shocking
Made me get emotional too. Sammy's story telling is impeccable.
@@aceloco817 Me too,my heart was stuck in my throat listening to this story.
I bet he cried about that Philadelphia guy when he was alone.... It damn near had me in tears
He choked up. ♥️
@assassinate evil now Ok.
If Sammy turned all these stories into a mini series it would be smash Hit!...
I'm binge-watching Sammy podcast and I've got to say that season 1 episodes 7 and 8 are two of the best episodes yet. There is nothing better on RUclips Netflix HBO showtime Cinemax or any other network on TV. RUclips struck gold when they started working with Sammy the Bull Gravano. He tells a story like no one else. I can not stop watching his videos and podcast.
We are really lucky to get these stories before Sammy is gone . Its important American history.

Yo Sammy I feel like you letting this all out is also therapy for you. I know that me listening to your podcast is therapy for me. I love the channel, keep up the great work bro.

Broke my heart when he told that story, extremely hard to do something like that after you kinda get to know someone.
Don’t think I’ve ever had goosebumps as much listening to this than I have had in my entire life. Absolutely crazy. Big up yourself Sammy. Nothing but love, life and prosperity to yourself and ALL reading this. Blessings people 💙
These podcasts are so intense, and some stories hit very close to home.
Sammy just holds you on every word. The guy really knows how to tell a story and never ever gets boring.
These stories make my day at work bearable. Im so glad i stumbled onto this page

Listening to this man tell his stories , Is like watching an Oscar performance.
No it's not
Respect from a Armenian 🙏🇦🇲. Mr. Gravano
"...he's not really stupid", almost spilled my coffee when he said that.
Wow Sammy, that Johnny Keys story is powerful. I'm sorry you guys had to do that. What a man till the end.
I just sit quietly…..listening. It’s deeply riveting…..a life I couldn’t imagine. Storytelling? Bravo Mr Gravano.
God is protecting you Sammy. Those weights are being lifted off your shoulder. You are receiving closure. Love, happiness, blessings and forgiveness are prospering for you. God Bless you ❤️ 🙏 🙌
Wow, just wow.
I never got into movies or stories like this. But I’m 1000% hooked!!
Cause it’s real life. No movie.
This man is such a great storyteller. I can't stop listening.
I could listen to Sammy, DMX and Mike Tyson for hours and hours on end. Sammy is surely taking the number #1 spot. Sammy is unreal
Not Mike Tyson for me there other two FURSURE
Not sure I could listen to X or Mike for hours but definitely listen to Cosa Nostra stories endlessly
I know huh
I can't listen to Tyson for 2 seconds. The dude is a fucking weirdo. And DMX!? Seriously!? Why would you put Sammy in the same sentence with those 2.
@@foreverraining1522 dude , seriously, there are over 300,000,000 million different opinions in this country. Different strokes for different folks.
This story gave me goosebumps. Rip Johnny keys
"Let's not blow this conversation off and he dies next week..." 😂😂😂
It is interesting to me. This is not a life anyone should live, but the real feelings that Sammy has for his associates and the real feelings they for him are special. That closeness is hard to find, difficult to get to experience for most of us.
Like soldiers they are bands of brothers
It’s crazy man, it feels like I was actually sat in that van watching it play out. Honestly amazing to hear the raw truth.
SAAAAAME!!!! Has he written a book yet? If not...he should.
Sammy can write a mob movie script better than most of Hollywood hacks, who have never even been in the mob lol
He did . It’s called “cleaver”
Yeah, because it’s real.
The way he always answers "yes" with no uncertainty or emotion through out this whole story is great
If anyone has read the Godfather, they talk about how Don Corleone formed his crew, Clemenza, Tessio, Al Neri, Luca Brasi etc...their background, where they came from, some of the past work theyve done. Its awesome, and this is a real life version of that. Amazing stories
As soon as he said Czechoslovakian all I thought was “Guy was an interior decorator”
Right. That shit is funny man. That scene with Pauly is all I will ever think of when I hear anything about Czechs
