Watch Harimoto's forehand Topspin in slow motion. Table tennis analysis. Japan table tennis. Video made in Portugal Table Tennis Academy. High Performance Center.
We could learn many things here,, notice that he carefully concentrate to the ball so he can hit at the right moment with optimum power,, Many amateur player is not look at the ball like that.. Thank you for sharing this vid 👍
To be honest, his backhand is much better, he hits forehand too close to body. I still don’t understand, his father is from China, he shouldn’t have this typical Japanese player’s common issue.
It is not a common issue in Japan. Harimoto just has his own style. His forehand is not too close to the body, he just swings to much with his shoulder and is less stable than most of chinese topplayers
It goes to show that a beautiful technique is not everything. Timo Boll also has a very peculiar forehand, but he is very consistent with it and has perfected his own stroke to always be able to perform it with consistency.
Fan Zhedong can't overpower Ma Long on fh to fh rallies and Ma was considered a weakling in the days of ZJK/Wang Hao,so it's all relative. Hari values speed and fast recovery over power.
I see the very ideal forehand swing.
There is less risk of missed swings, and the elbows come out first to fully convey the power to the ball.
Bringing the elbow out and fairly up and stabilizing it through the whole shit is really a key as I found

Simple, as an amateur. I just dont see the ball thus swinging with my instinct.

We should really learn Harimotos backhand instead of forehand lol
Wowoowowo
Wow!!😍😍
Surprised how little wrist movement there is

@@mqsending He's right, it's way too close to the body, which results in a more right-to-left swing rather than the back-right to left-forward swing.
Harimoto use japanese/european tensor rubber so its okay to hits close to body. If he's using chinese rubber then its different
Don't forget that he plays Japan/europe rubbers on his forehand.. The technique has to be different
It goes to show that a beautiful technique is not everything. Timo Boll also has a very peculiar forehand, but he is very consistent with it and has perfected his own stroke to always be able to perform it with consistency.
Well, his forehand is weak TBH in comparison with Chinese.

Hari values speed and fast recovery over power.
Tiago Apolonia beat Ovtcharov mainly on fh to bh rallies, but it's all relative. Tiago only did that at home though.
