He does a very long follow through, why coaches kip saying that it is not a good thing?
It takes much longer to recover in time for the next shot, and the long follow-through also expends more energy involving the shoulder. I think it's a tradeoff - if you are hitting a winner, it's useful. A lot of Ma Long's are winners here. But if the opponent returns it from close to the table, there may not be time to react unless the attacker is exceptional in other ways. Also, it's a lot of energy wasted if the ball is returned and the opponent expends nearly the same small amount of energy as in the case of a short follow-through.
@@nineth944 you are absolutely right 💯
Ma Long has probably the best recovery I've seen. Even though his shots have such a long follow through, he manages to recover quicker than most. Truly the GOAT
@@helolu12345 true shit as well
You reply to Ma Long very short and do not expect the attack. Wrong expectation 0:19
It's not that he didn't expect the attack - he didn't know where Ma Long would attack. See the very next service - Ma Long attacks on the opponent's backhand this time. Also, the problem wasn't that the return was too short - it was too high; it was actually medium length and nearly reached the end of the table.
My toxic traits thinking I can do all of it easily
=))
well, Ma Long's forehand is definitely not as good as that of Wang Liqing.
