Hope Sandoval has one haunting voice. She has been around since the ‘90’s as the vocalist for Mazzy Star . Check out “ Fade. Into You” and “ Into Dust”. She will put you into another stratosphere. You will love it . Guaranteed . And btw Massive Attack as does Zero 7 use different vocalist. Zero 7 used Sia as one of their chief vocalist before she went solo and the hair thing.
I love both this original version and the Gui Boratto Remix. So soothing, but they make sure to soar at the end and you can't help but get swept away. This has also been used as the theme for Idris Elba's show Luther. Fantastic series that I'm still not all the way caught up on but I'll get there eventually.
This is a scary/thrilling/chilling song. "Love is like a sin for those that feel it the most." Massive Attack has been used in the TV series House and the BBC series Luther. I think it's brought them back into the collective consciousness. I know when I heard this song as the series backdrop for Luther I immediately had to find out who it was and wasn't surprised it was MA as I had been listening to them for years on House.
I'd never heard any post-Mezzanine Massive Attack before, but that was pretty good. Very nice. Except for their collaboration with Burial in 2010 - I did hear that one. Burial would be a great artist to react to; his tracks like Archangel; Untrue; Distant Lights; Near Dark; Raver; and also his remix of Jamie Woon - 'Wayfaring Stranger'. All well-worth checking out.
Completely agree about Burial! My favourites of his are probably Rough Sleeper and Moth but he has too much good stuff so it's hard to pick. Your choices are really good too
@@friendlystranger9662 Yes, those ones are good. I also love Lambeth, and 'Where Is Home' - Burial's remix of Bloc Party. I like the 2 b-sides on Rival Dealer as well.
The album version of the song stops at 5:17 so it's a bit weird that this version doesn't. It's not supposed to have 2 endings... But anyway, great reaction, KSO! Love how you were just vibing the whole time
This was a "single" version posted on YT (by someone other than the band) two months before the album release. It's 5:14 long with an abrupt cutoff, versus 4:58 long on the album.
So glad you reacted to this track. I absolutely adore Massive Attack and this is a vastly underrated album. Please could you react to a track called When I Go by Over the Rhine. I’ve watched a few of your reactions and I think you’ll love it!!
Is that Beth Gibbons, the singer from Portishead? It would make sense, seeing as how both groups are from the same area of England. Please go back to Mezzanine and react to "Teardrop", or fire up Blue Lines and react to "The Hymn Of The Big Wheel' Love your work sweetheart.
@@duffblimp9888 Hope Sandoval, most notorious for Mazzy Star but also Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions. She has many collaborations as well with other electronic artists. She is the reason I have a cat named, Mazzy. :)
The claps in that song is the bomb
This album surprised me. Its underated
I agree
one of the best albums of the past two decades at least
I didn't "get it" at first, but when I did this became my second most loved MA album

Ooh, yes... Portishead ‘Glory Box’ (live version), ‘only You’, ‘Sour Times’... they’re peers of Massive Attack, and also Goldfrapp, ‘Lovely Head’, ‘Utopia’, ‘Human’, ‘Strict Machine’, ‘Ooh-La-La’🙂
I was obsessed with this album when it came out.

I hear this song and instant my mind goes to Idris Elba 'Luther'
The percussion on this song is master class
I’d love to see your reaction to ‘Protection’ by Massive Attack ❤️
agreed great track
I forgot to mention some of my favourite Massive Attack songs I hope you'll check out: "Live with Me", "Protection," "Teardrop," and "Pray for Rain."
a big second to 'Live With Me', probably my favourite Massive attack track
Reminds me a bit of Portishead! Another great band......live too!
Love Portishead.
Both part of the Bristol triphop scene.
The only reason I watch Luther over and over to lull me to sleep just to hear this song in the opening credits. Of course I own the album as well. 😂🤣
Theme to a great show Luther
Theme tune to one of the best British TV crime series 'Luther' and my favourite pro-socialist UK group, Massive Attack, massively underated.
4:35 here’s someone who gets it
ugh! you MUST react to more massive attack and other trip hot artists!
I highly recommend Massive Attack - 'The spoils'. It's sublime!

You should listen to the dubstep mix it's good 👍

Amazing song, really this track is so magic, into the best album of massive attack, try to "three" or aftersun", please

Have you heard ‘silence’ (album version)by Delerium? Think you’d love that. The album, ‘Karma’, is one of my all-time greatest chill out albums.
Please react to Laura Pausini- La Solitudine!

Hope Sandoval is the singer here.

Nice, very sensual 😗.
Some songs are just sexual.
Which is one reason this song was used in the sex scene for the movie “Savages”
The Zed's Dead remix hits differently and has an amazing drop and bass but keeps the seductive slow smooth feel of the original.
I was just about to recommend that one remix. Possibly better than the original IMO.
@@mime3761 Agreed. lol It's my preferred version. The others sound flat to me now if that makes any sense. lol
