Don’t feel like you should pause putting out content because of the tragedy that is happening. People need an escape and something to look forward to. It’s ok to be that bright spark for someone!
Harry Potter is probably the reason 90% of kids start getting into reading. That was the 1st picture-less book I owned when I was a kid and I still reread the series till this day
You need to get Caleb to go through some of his favorite artwork or maybe show you how to write a song
Thanks to RUclips for suggesting me this channel 😇 Thank you Lily for spreading positive vibes. 💕
The Little Prince is my favorite! And you can read it to Dixie and Winston as well!
Hi from Argentina ❤️ Pride and Predjuice by Jane Austen is my fav book
I love anything from Jane Austen and all the Harry Potter books too ❤️ But I absolutely love that you mentioned the Alchemist because it’s the first book my dad ever gave me as a kid and it changed my outlook forever. During this quarantine I’m reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert and it’s such a positive book! 😊
“love & describe” took me back to lily’s first videos 🥺
I think the impersonation of Winston Churchill is perfect!! ❤❤!!

Yes! Please continue to post! There are so many great at home videos you can do- q&a’s, reacting to impressions, embarrassing stories, story times, day in your life at home.... love your vids! Stay safe 💗
Loved this! I've always been a reader for as long as I can remember, but reading the Fifty Shades of Grey books is what really got me obsessively back into reading. I think I read the series about three times. Same with the Twilight series. So good! I mainly love reading about history, biographies & contemporary romance, but open to all. There really is nothing better than losing yourself in a good book and freeing your mind! Thanks for sharing, Lily! I'm intrigued by some that you showed in your collection I never knew of & can't wait to read them.
Great choices! You’re such a joy💜 I would recommend “Gone with the Wind” 😌😌😌

I would recommend Prodigal Summer by Barbara Kingsolver. It’s probably my favorite book and I read it every spring. I think you would like it, Lily.
I also love rereading Harry Potter. And The Mitford Series by Jan Karon, these help when I’m feeling anxious or sad. These are all my comfort books along with The Chronicles of Narnia.
You might Rolling Thunder about the Native American Medicine Man and Conversations with the Arch Druid.
The Alexandria Quartet by Lawrence Durrell are also at the top of my list for literature. Beautiful rich language. Highly recommend it.

moonlight bae great idea, I could talk about Star Wars all day!!
A really fun, funny, and action-packed fantasy series is Fablehaven--Lily, it's the kind of fantasy books that both your kids and you could enjoy, kind of like Harry Potter or Eragon!🤗 And a really light-hearted fairy tale series is the once upon a marigold one ♥️
Alchemist is my fav too!!! I recommend it to everyone 😍
I need to start reading again. Im like you lily i love reading history war books. 👁
Food and the magazine publishing industry = Save Me the Plums by Ruth Reichl 💖 A true treat’
Well thanks for asking Lily - I’ve just reread ‘it isn’t all mink’ by the original directrice of the haute couture at Pierre Balmain, Ginette Spanier.
The second half is full of hilarious details and anecdotes about working in the 1950s haute couture, the so called golden age, including about her close friends Marlene Dietrich + Noel Coward. She writes things about people you wouldn’t get away with today.
However, the first half of the book covers - apart from her upbringing - the years she spent on the run from the nazis in occupied France during ww2. Her and her new husband were both Jewish. Talk about being resourceful ..
She published two other books - long road to freedom which goes into more detail about her ww2 experience + and now it’s sables, about her US lecture tour career when she became a well known personality in the 1960s.
All three are still available on Amazon. Would highly recommend. A timely mix of amusing escapism + inspiring spirit in the face of adversity. Enjoy 😉😀👍👍👍
I would like to hear about your first times in modeling. Like your first show and your first shoot and how it went. Or how you were able to find your way through the modeling world!! Much love and best wishes for you!!💖
"Life of the Beloved"-Henri Nouwen, "Captivating" - John + Stasi Eldridge, "Chronicles of Narnia"- CS Lewis!
Love it!
"Erasure" by Percival Everett is definitely the best book I've read. It goes too far at times, but it's a masterpiece.
Love your videos! So inspired by your style and taste in beauty and book!
My book recs: Where the Crawdads Sing, A Man Called Ove, Yes Please, The Screwtape Letters, Three Cups of Tea, Reading Lolita in Tehran, and She Walks in Beauty(a collection of poems).
Hi Lily 😘❤️. Loved the video. Wanted to see your full bookshelf. I recommend all books by Khaled Hosseini - “The Kite Runner”, “A thousand splendid suns”, “And the mountains echoed”. You need a box of tissues next to you. Also “And then there were none” by Agatha Christie. “To kill a mockingbird” by Harper Lee. “Alias Grace” by Margaret Atwood. “The devotion of suspect X” by Keigo Higashino. “Black water Lillies” by Michel Bussi.
I love that you enjoy non- fiction!!!! Iove all the books by Walter Isaacson! You would love his books, Ben Franklin, Albert Einstein, Kissinger, etc. I also like revisiting the books that I loved as a kid...Nancy Drew, Beverly Cleary, Little House on the Prairie, and Sweet Valley High! Lol I don't know why, they are just comforting to me.
Hi Lily, I can recommend The Light Between Oceans. It's a wonderful read that you cant put down. I'm just about to read The Book of Gutsy Women by the Clinton ladies. Definitely going to get myself a copy of the Alchemist thanks for the recommend. Take care and stay safe. X
I love that you’re a fan of Churchill:) I really enjoy books that relate to health and medicine and what it means to live a life of quality.
1) The Center cannot hold 2) When breath becomes air 3) Frankenstein (not health but such a classic) and on that note of health and quality, I hope your family is well and stay safe!
X Wen ❤️❤️❤️
Lily you are the best. Thanks. Gloria. Spain💛💛💛
I love reading and always since I was younger. It’s an addiction for me to buy books and read them I read sometimes for 6 hours straight haha 😆. I’m very interested in world war 2 books. My grandmother was young during the world war and she tells me interesting stories. I also love Harry Potter books and hunger games. I’m also reading the handmaid’s tail. I have so much I cannot share all. Love u 💗
Lily, I met you once in Toronto. You were so nice and kind. 💛💚 Anyways, i recommend reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle. It's my favorite book of all time!
i spy I Capture The Castle on your shelf, one of my favorites.. will be revisiting it tomorrow, this glimpse reminded me of how much i love it.
my recommendation for you is Stories of Your Life and Others by Ted Chiang, a collection of short stories (one of which the movie Arrival was based on). his writing is poignant, reflective and beautiful.. gives you much to think about the human spirit. and we all have a bit of time to think now!
Hi Lily from Washington state ! I recently started reading " Making A Life : Working By Hand and Designing the Life You Are Made to Live " by Melanie Falick. It's all about creating by hand, how transformative it is, interviews of different artists/designers/makers and is so inspiring. Thanks to this book I have committed to creating art every day, watercolor, colored pencil, sketching, photography. I also am finishing Patrick Leigh Fermor's book " Between the Woods and the Water " which is part of a three book series of walking across Europe in 1934. This particular book is about walking through Hungary and Romania and is fascinating and beautifully written. You can't go wrong with anything by him ! I feel most of us who can stay at home, are safe, well, fed and taking precautions are extremely lucky at this time. In Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, there were three high magnitude earthquakes last Sunday and a lot of damage there ( my family is from there ). So things could always be worse. Thank you for your funny and uplifting video, we all appreciate and look forward to them. Don't grab the Dixie mug !
I love your taste! Adding The Alchemist to my list right now! All the Light We Cannot See is one of my faves! Read 'Educated' by Tara Westover (incredible!) and 'Where the Crawdads Sing' by Delia Owens (beautiful novel!).
ATLWCS was one of my favorite books of last year. Have you read Three Women, My Brilliant Friend or City of Girls? All fantastic♥️
Omg i love this video!!
I got some tips for you of my favourite books if it’s not to late.. but I love all of the Nicholas sparks books, and my fave is best of me or the choice I also love the after series and the selection series!!
If your in to history jojo moyes book the giver of stars is a nice love story from 1800. You’re the best😍😍
Lots of hugs from Sweden
Love this, you have quite an eclectic collection! Thank you & best wishes! And you might enjoy Just Kids by Patti Smith.
love you lily💖
I read 1984 last week. Just added 'All The Light You Cannot See' to my to-read list
I’ve been binge watching your videos recently. Loved this one as I’m a big reader myself! Maybe you could do a similar video with music-telling us about songs you like and why they’re special to you?:)
Oh! I totally recommend Today will be different or where’d you go Bernadette by Maria Semple
We love also to connect with youuu
Know My Name by Chanel Miller. Heartbreaking, empowering and everything in-between!
Like your petite library ; )
Great time to read a book called Year of Wonders. It's about a town that quarantined themselves. based on a true story.
Also, a Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving. One of my favorite writers. He also wrote Cyder House Rules and World According to Garp.
Loved this video! I was cracking up at the bts! 🤣 Can you do a video with Carolina? Something like “cooking from home” or wine time! Miss your videos. They bring me endless laughter. Hope you and your family are well. 😉
thank you so much ❤️❤️ yes I actually just filmed a new video today, so stay tuned for next Monday!!
I always go back to Kafka. No books move me more. Also Proust is a life changer but it's a long commitment because the books are sooo exhausting to read. Worth it though and the great thing is that there really is no story, mostly thoughts so you can just start reading from any page
Amazing ❤
Reading and meditating the "Holy Scripture "make me feel peaceful. My other favorite books are Alchemist, Power of Now ,The four agreements. .
Lovely, the world needs this now. Just finished "Where the Crawdads Sing" ❤❤❤❤❤ also "The Gingerman" by JP Donleavy is superb. Stay Safe xxxxx
Hi Lily. Here are my recommendations. World War II related: The Saboteur: The Aristocrat Who Became France’s Most Daring Anti-Nazi Commando by Paul Kix, Resistance Women by Jennifer Chiaverini, A Woman of No Importance by Sonia Purcell, and Lilac Girls and Lost Roses by Martha Hall Kelly. Books based on real events: Chariot on the Mountain by Jack Ford and Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate. Other books: Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough and Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens. A classic: Uncle Tom’s Cabin by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
😭 I have been watching RUclipsr's reading lists. Finally watching yours in particular is something I did not know I needed. My book recommendations I recently finished:
Birthday Girl
Redeeming Love
I see your Outlander!! 🙌
Great variety of books. Thanks, Lily for another fun video. A book I think you and your family will love is The Boy, the mole, the fox and the horse by Charlie Mackesy. It’s mainly gorgeous illustrations together with beautiful, thoughtful dialogs and life lessons. In his Instagram you’ll be able to see some parts of the book. Honestly, one of my favourites. The other book I really enjoyed was World War Z by Max Brooks (nothing like the movie - it was rubbish). A zombie apocalyptic novel written as a collection of individual accounts narrated by an agent of the United Nations Postwar Commission, following the devastating global conflict against the zombie plague. You feel you’re reading a history book that based on fantasy. First book please get the hard copy as it’s just stunning 😊❤️
everything thats lights touches
Delighted to see this, complete with your introduction. Wishing you, Caleb, Dixie, and Winston health, safety, and good reading in these upcoming days. Listening to KoL yesterday-a staple in my music library. Good reads on your shelf. I love history and historical fiction too. Same period as Hamilton: try Chernow’s Washington: A Life. Take care, @lilyaldridge ❤️
Ed Matthews thank you!!! Wishing you health and safety too ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Lily ❤️❤️❤️
Catcher in the Rye.....definitely, at least twice, The Fight by Norman Mailer, Walking with the Muses by Pat Cleveland. Thanks for sharing, maybe next time you can recommend yr favorite movies for our quarantine situation-1917 and The Irishman were awesome.
