Supreme oud is my main cologne. I picked up 3 bottles in 2015. Don't like the rose and flowery scent of the new one. Any suggestions of something similar to supreme oud?

I also love it, but wear it oh so sparingly because it’s discontinued! I searched through tons of oud fragrances and came up with one that is a match for the supreme oud on the notes and is available on MaxAroma. SPICES OUD (EDP) by Rirana Parfume. It retails for about $97 for 1.7 oz. I don’t have this fragrance, so I can’t vouch for how it compares, but if you look at the notes and the note ranking on Fragrantica, it looks like a 1:1 note match and same note ranking as Supreme Oud. The simple answer is - Yes, the oud in Polo Oud smells synthetic, but not in a disappointing way. I’m not certain that Ralph Lauren is using a synthetic oud, but very few designer fragrances can afford to use real oud, especially not the higher end smooth smelling oud found in pricey niche or middle eastern oud fragrances. But, the Oud smells like a smooth, woody oud, not the dreaded “barnyard” or “poopy” oud. No westerners would buy it if it were the stinky oud variety, and I’m pretty sure it’s too difficult and pricey to obtain steady supplies of high quality oud needed to sustain a designer fragrance line that retails for $140 for a 100mL bottle. So, Polo Oud smells good, smells like a woody, incense type of oud, and I’m almost certain it is synthetic, but a good synthetic.

We don't have Ferragamo oud to compare, but Polo Oud is pretty decent for a Ralph Lauren oud fragrance. The newer Polo Oud is, in our opinion, better than the older and discontinued Supreme Oud. Polo Oud is a nice, wearable, tame oud with western accents. Not at all a middle eastern oud.
