Me and my friend were driving around late one night and Jumper comes on. We are super into it, rockin out, and eventually it gets to the bass solo/bridge. All of a sudden my friend opens the moonroof, and stands up, sticking herself out the roof of the car. I crank it up and she is up there yelling, "I would understand!!!" Then, there's that build up and Stephen screams, "Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!!!" At that moment when everything kicks in, it started raining in the most crazy surreal way. I felt it through the open roof and my friend is up there having the time of her life! When it was all over we literally had tears in our eyes. It was a magical moment. That's why this is one of my favorite songs ever.
I'm 45 years old. I love rock music from the 60's to the early 2000's. If I were to make a list of my top favorite bands of all time...…….. Third Eye Blind would make the list :)
This song brings me joy and sadness in one song. Whats life to live for if you don't find love in it.... happy and healthy is all that is needed and do the things you want to do that make you happy....find pleasure in life.
I love this song because it means a lot to me. This song and a few of Sixx AM songs helped me through my rehab for drug addiction (pot, coke, meth, and some others) and now I can finally carry on with my life because I have stepped back from that ledge, and cut my ties with past friends and what not. So thank you Third Eye Blind for making this song. It really helped do to the fact that all I had was music then
Covid made me realize that this kind of event is Golden, one of my bucketlist is to see them in person performing this song in a concert. Thank you for saving many lives!
This song really hits me. I had a hard break up with a girl and regretted it, and then a week later my best friend tried to jump off a bridge into a shallow creek. I was at home sitting in regret and then I got a message from his girlfriend saying he was about to do something stupid as I was listening to this song. Heavy
I hope there are always bands that when you see them live they take turns doing solos. You just don't see that much any more. Man Tony was holding back bc I've seen him melt faces before. And Brad, damn that was pretty tight. I miss the 3eb with Tony.
This song really helps. me. I suffer from suicidal thoughts and depression everyday. but I need to get healthy, and I had an addiction w alcohol coke lean oxy Xanax and and clean almost two and a half yrs, helps me remember to cut ties w the addiction. I have felt like I don't belong or dont know what im doing here, but I need to face the demons put the past away fight the suicide and step back from that ledge. time to start living again.
this song was written after a teen age boy video taped his suicide after his parents left him at home on vacation it was when camcorders first came out and his tragic death made head lines and this bay area band "SF" decided to be a part of a solution and a positive message to stop suicide and did it in a beautiful way........thank you for such a positive impact in my life and countless others.....
@@stevenan93wasn’t it a dude he went to school with and was friendly with him? Not necessarily best friends but mutual friends… needless to say, nobody knows what people are going through mentally. Call them weak, call them selfish… some people can’t handle certain shit. Ahhhh....so many fond memories of listening to this band and getting beat up for it; at school, at home, my friends home, at grandma's house and the doctors office.🥴 yep, they were the KISS of the 90s.
This is great song solo band everything. They r officially legends for sure. Song is a number 1 hit up there with Soundgarden ,nirvana, chili Peps,p jam, all those 90 bands
In our 2015 interview with lead singer Stephan Jenkins, he described this song as "a noir about a guy who jumped off a bridge and killed himself because he was gay," adding, "It was really about bullying."
❤ Fkg ppl havelet him down, over and over and over....... Ya, Son...... yur right Most ppl are idiots...... and i happy you feel Siam, ypur friend, is the person you feel most understands you Im glad yu have a friend, in Siam

A great sing along band. The lyrics are unforgettable.

It would be so cool if Third Eye Blind ever brought out Jim Carrey for a surprise jam session of this song
😍 for this !

That drum solo is dope
Brad is a killer drummer 🤘🏼
Real talk
Jenkins voice sounds awesome in this show. He usually struggles a bit live.
It's amazing what they can do in post / editing. :-) I guarantee you they did a lot of that for this docu.
Did you hear him on Graduate?
He’s a rockstar perfect vocals love are irrelevant. You cannot match this level of song writing it’s superb! Their first album is top 5 easily
There's some videos you're just so glad you clicked on!
The bridge of this song is my favorite part…kinda wish they hadn’t crammed it up with solos in this version

as positive as a comment this is, it is misinformation. the lead singer has stated numerous times that its about his gay friend who committed suicide.

I believe it is Leo Kremer. I saw them in 2007 and he was their bassist - I think he owns a restaurant in NYC now though.

When i think about the guitar solo part in this song it reminds me to the guitar solo from Just (radiohead)
