Such a great list! Another job, which seems always overlooked, is the Mediator, they're the best way to lower Faith to 03, making almost every unit into a Construct (Worker) 8 type unit, as long as you don't care about magic :D
I feel like a job that is slept on is geomancer. What you got in geomancer is a class that can instantly use an ability that has a range of 4, a radius of 2 tiles, no cost, no height restriction, has a chance to cause status ailments that completely disables a unit on certain maps, has damage that scales with both PA and MA and the best equipment draw for raising both those stats. They can't be reflected and have 100% hit rate and many of the elemental skills have an element attached that you can equip an accessory or a black robe to boost your damage even further as long as you know the appropriate one to equip for the map you plan on fighting on. They ain't no Orlandu but if you are trying a challenge run where you don't use any of the named characters i think it's a solid class.
@@Mrnoob951 Yes, definitely, plus, maybe not popular opinion, but its the BEST class to change Agrias into once she learns all her Holy Sword skills. Her default job only allows her to equip armor, while that is great, I feel that being able to equip a Twisted Headband + Power Sleeve along with a Bracer and of course Attack Up support pushes her damage up to essentially Orlandu's well before he's even available. (This is all before Dark Knight is available, after that I mean you can just do a DK / HK cross)
If it is based on time of acquisition then Agrias is the best character bar none. Because she alone can single handly carry you through all the absurd early game grinding!
she is also less disruptive than the others, you want to put Cid or Melia in your party? You are going to kick out someone who likely already mastered several classes or who have unlocked an advance class that can match in power. She also has more time to level other classes so she could potentially have attack up or move +2/+3, where as once you get knight swords switching to job like Thief for move +2 is a bigger drop in damage compare to earlier when they were not available and any job with good pa and equip swords would do comparable damage.
When de-leveling and re-leveling characters in order to optimize stats, Beowulf is one of the best characters in the entire game. His ability to instantly turn an enemy into a chicken makes it incredibly easy, plus you can load him up with Knight skills to have him destroy the chicken's stats immediately after. Bang, Boom, now the enemies can't do anything at all, meanwhile you're lowering your own level as a terrible class and the leveling back up as a good one, transforming yourself into a God lol. Beowulf needs more love. His skills are awesome :D

My favorite character is Malak. Drop his faith as low as possible. Make him a geomancer with monk skills. Give him gear that raises pa and ma. You got a mage that kills mages. hey J7!!! Nice video and agree with Meliadoul!!! Give me a tip, please!! What is your strategy to "power level" these characters? I'm still using the focus/acumulator strat, but special characters don't have access to it.
I'm not sure where you are at in the game. But Beowulf, Meliadoul, Reis and Orlandeau will scale with the party so if you get level 99 earlier they will join at a very high level. If not you can always lock them and an enemy into a corner, rend both their power to 1 and rend the enemy speed to zero then set to AI and have the other characters run away. Or have them hit a high level character of yours over and over. There are several ways to do this lol. I'm probably forgetting something though. Sorry had a lot to reply to lately
Basically, go to a map that has a Level Minus Trap (or whatever it's called) that lowers the level of a character that steps on it by 1. Change a character's class to one that has awful level-up stats, like a Chemist or Arithmetician. Have that character get de-leveled over and over again as the awful class, then change them to one of the best classes (Black Mage for Magic/MP, Monk for Power/HP, Ninja for Speed, etc.) and get them to level 99 again as that class. The way this game works, when your stats are lowered by leveling down, they're lowered in accordance to the class that you currently are, not the one you were when you first gained those stats. So, by doing this process, you do effective lose a little bit of your stats, but you retain most of them and then gain a bunch more by leveling back up as a better class. Eventually, you'll have 999 HP/MP, 99 Power/Magic, and 99 Speed. If it sounds broken, no worries, that's because it's _completely broken_ lol. Have fun! :D
Do you have a Parry video? I usually start off everyone with that and it’s cool sometimes to see a chemist block Thunder soul with a romandan pistol, or the classic sword block against another sword. Then it’s really boss stuff like a thief block an arrow with a dagger! I’ve seen bow blocks too, knight parry reaction skill is underrated imo.
your list is 100%. In the mod that I have been working on, I nerfed Cid, Balthier, Beowulf and replaced Reis with Aerith from FFVII, just because of how over powered they were.
I am 42 years old and played the original version of the game...Back then my whole party was made of Calculators (towards de end of the game)... They were pure destruction..
Ramza is actually ridiculous even offensively, because you can keep boosting his speed. Any fight where you have a little time to do that, it creates a feedback loop. Boosting your speed gets more turns to boost speed, until you get numerous turns for each turn the enemy gets. It's like barrage, but you can do any move you want for each attack.
Beowulf is much better than Meliadoul in vanilla. By the time you get access to Beowulf, around a dozen enemies in the entire game are immune to Petrify and Chicken, and all of them are boss monsters. The fact that these abilities have high base accuracy and full magic scalars means that Beowulf only needs a modest Faith boost to make them consistent. Meliadoul's actual advantage over Beowulf is her ability to equip Chantage....and that's basically it. In WotL, however, she gets a monstrously good upgrade in that her abilities deal substantially more damage if they hit an empty equipment location that would otherwise be targeted by that attack. (and this is the real reason why she's so good vs monsters; they can't equip anything!) Agrias is still superior for actual killing than Meliadoul because she has the same single target damage potential as most characters in the game due to the damage cap and access to the same busted ass Knight Swords to make it happen, but has AoE attacks in her kit. (Knight Swords are comically OP and a big balancing mistake that forces most other physical roles out of the game...as if Orlandu alone wasn't proof enough of that starting with Excalibur) That all said...Meliadoul is still especially well-suited for doing most end-game story fights since those overwhelmingly feature human foes over monsters, though she would still be best served letting the other power hitters handle bosses.
It depends on the battle and situation but Beowulf is better in more fights and is great especially in Deep Dungeon/Midlight's Deep even against the Lucavi too. In WOTL because her attacks now work on monsters makes her infinitely better too. Not to mention things like Tynar Rouge even though you can only get one. Agrias it depends. Meliadoul Divine Knight has superior stats like PA and even move. But there is also min maxing, Chaos Blade and etc. Yeah Knight Swords are a cut above but I still love this time and there are balance issues in every game even multiplayer competitive ones that get balance patches.
Agrias is second only to Orlando. She’s a powerhouse as a dark knight with holy sword. She’s female so she gets access to the most broken equipment in the game.
This PSP version is way better than the original PS1, has more characters, weapons, jobs, etc. But yes Orlandu and Agrias my favorites, Rafa, Malak, Mustadio,(Mustadio is good to keep him only for the side quests, but Balthier easily outranks him) and even Cloud are no good here.
I like it a lot better too especially with multiplayer as well. The sound quality isn't as good or epic but overall War of the Lions remaster is better.

I'm glad to see Beowulf get a shout out
Thanks honestly he is such a strong character in this game
Agrias is second only to Orlando. She’s a powerhouse as a dark knight with holy sword. She’s female so she gets access to the most broken equipment in the game.
Being a Holy and Dark Knight almost sounds like a Cecil (FF4) build for her! :D
She is great and everyone loves her totally lol
Spot on !
Thank you!
my bad, what version of this game is this? Ive only played ps1 version.
also you said every single one of their name's different than I have said it!!!
Np at all. And its War of the Lions specifically the PSP version.
I've put so many hours into this game. Probably one of my most played games and I don't think I've unlocked the dark knight!?
Which version of the game are you playing or on? It is only available in War of the Lions and the ever popular Lion War Mod
@J7Jase I have the PS1 version and War of the Lions on iPad. I watched your video on how to unlock it though!
@@coreydietrich9164 nice takes a while but hope you unlock it
I agree this list :)
Glad to hear and thank you 👍👍
This PSP version is way better than the original PS1, has more characters, weapons, jobs, etc.
@@J7Jase yes you are right even though the soundtracks are the same the ps 1 version sound better.
how can I get Balthier Sky Pirate?, this is the first time that I see it.
Which version of the game are you playing on? You might have never seen him because he is only playable in War of the Lions
@@J7Jase I'm playing the psx version war of lions.
You can always make a game more or less challenging. Try a pure class run without Chantage.
i've done Solo Ramza and a Dark Knight complete solo as well as other solos. so the game can be hard with limiting yourself
Name of the music, please?

@@J7Jase thank you very much! I made another comment because this video was old so i had no idea if you would answer. I saw you other answer too, you're are very attentious!
@@renan637 No worries man sorry for the late reply. I've been busier and also been getting a lot more comments lately.
I try to at least give a reply but its a bit harder to answer chain replies as there are just too many notifications for that lol.
Thanks for your patience.
This game is in desperate need of a remaster or just a port, idc which one i just want to play this game
Remaster of a remaster in WOTL?
@@J7Jase FFT already got a remaster? I've never been able to play any version of the game so
How to get cloud strife ?
Which version of the game are you playing on? The overall recruitment process is the same in both versions but in the PSP you can get him earlier.
why the video open on rafa
only for b roll and footage purposes.
Cloud as a Dark Knight?
I mean yeah that could work but might as well just make a generic a Dark Knight. Cooler looking sprite can get it earlier and etc.
I take it that you play Heroes of the Storm? lol
I used to yes lol good ears!
T.G Cid Orlandu is the best. Hands down. No contest.
In most fights yeah. In some of the later Rendezvous Missions like Nightmares and An Ill Wind I'll take Agrias or Reis though just because of the ability to equip Ribbon and perfumes
Haven’t played with unique characters since I was a kid because it’s too easy lol
I mix it up time to time but yeah especially certain ones lol
Still waiting for Red Mage lmao
And obviously Holy Swordsman is best
A red mage like class would be cool lol and yeah it honestly is
The second gunmen.. he seems weak so i didnt even tried😮
Who Balthier? Far from weak lol
@@J7Jase yeah balthier... my slot is so full i can't move anyone out :)
I dislike the Unique Late jobs, they just break the game. I'm always beat the game with commun jobs
You have a point we can play the game how we like and want.
Every single special knight
Lol you got that right except if you are on the PS1 definitely not Heaven and Hel Knight hahaha
T. G. Cid is the one hitter quiter of all time.
Yeah he is a beast
Just give me thunder god orlandeu
He is the team or the whole fn show
Bah.
More non-PS1 OG nonsense.
I appreciate the work you put into these videos, but there's only one true version of this game.
@@pc4mlc451 all your comments are literally the same thing. Thanks for commenting though
@@J7Jase
Have you played the original or no?
@@J7Jase
Look, I'm not trying to discredit your work. You have a fine channel and I appreciate the work you put into your videos.
As a fan of this game, it seems that strats and builds have become too easy for new players who pick up new versions of the game.
I did a "Beastmaster" build in the original game, where I relied on "Monster Skill" to turn the tides. It was bloody difficult.
The new versions of the game make it too easy. That's all I'm saying.
@@pc4mlc451 Thanks for the comment. yes I have played the original I think I answered this question before. I even have many clips of things on my channel.
And even have commentary going over old names.
It's virtually the same game for the most part. I wouldn't consider the new items in WOTL to be that game breaking or much better as you get them much later on or into the post game.
Was this list in any particular order 😂
Nah no order
Tests with cheats? Come on dude!
What are you even talking about? No cheats were used for this video.
No cheats at all bra
у меня ффт с 1993г и в нет этих нпц и шмота. у тебя какойто мод игры v2,4
Sorry Google Translate is not coming up for this comment I would respond properly but I don't see anything
